Did you upgrade from the 4 axis Acorn board? I guess for your setup you only use X,Z, Y and C axis + Spindle right? Are you planning to add more axis to your lathe?
Excellent work; thank you for sharing! Could I ask how you're programming the Acorn 6? I'm considering it (or the Oak) for a new machine build, and was expecting to have to hand program my parts, but am wondering if CNC12 conversational can do 4, 5, or 6 axis?
Hi Adrian, Intercon only can index C-Axis. So I make the turning part fast with intercon, and if it is simple, handcode Y and C-axis. Was just a few minutes for the parts here. For complex things I use fusion 360 with a modified HAAS SSY post, but I am going to write a 4 axis mill turn PP for centroid.

Not really, but I can also move the machines with the MPG wheels if I need only one cut. Simple moves are programmed with Intercon faster than working manually
@@TheSuntravel I've been thinking about replacing the leadscrews with ball screws on my lathe but I like the tactile feedback I get with manual turning. Don't want to lose that.

@@HM-Projects you can not compensate for physical play, if you have more than 0,02mm lash, you have more than 0,02mm not under control. Especial with more than 0,1mm you have on some materials a problem that the tool is drawn into the material causing chatter or breakage,,,
This is really satisfying to watch. That machine is just PERFECT!
Congratulations once again 👌🏻
Youve got that thing dialed in👍🏼
Sehr geil was du dir da gebaut hast!!!
Really good work, love your lathe
Very good job 😍👍
Outstanding. Very inspiring!

Yes, was Acorn before updating to Acorn6. I need second spindle for live tooling and will make an axis drive turret and B-Axis for live tooling later
I might have asked this on another video already but what inserts do for turning. They seem to make a decent chip and not bundle up like a birds nest.
Korloy AK H01 for aluminum, but i also use alloys made for turning
Hi!. What probe (brand or model) are you using?

That's pretty cool. Do you miss the occasional manual turning or milling ? 😆

What do you think about that probe?
I got the same. 🙌🏻
It is ok, needs readjusting from time to time, but it is very cheap. Repeats within 0,01mm
