  • Looking to refurb your wet room? Let’s talk tiles 😍
I’m Lesley, the founder of Baked Tiles, and here’s our handy guide on what to watch out for when tiling your wet room 🚿
    Slip resistance ratings
Let’s start with the R rating - this is a slip resistance measurement that it’s important to look out for. R ratings are measured differently depending on whether you’re wearing shoes or going barefoot, but as a guide R11A+B is best for wet room trays.
You might also have heard of pendulum test values, or PTV ratings. This is a newer way of measuring the same thing, so all you need to know is that a rating over 36 when tested in the wet, means a tile has a low slip risk.
    Pattern cutting
Pretty patterns are a big interior design trend right now - not all pattern tiles are slip resistant, but we have some fabulous ranges that are! Choosing a tileable shower tray with a one-way or two-way fall will make it easier for your tiler to work with patterned tiles in this tricky area, meaning you can show off your chosen style in the best way.
    Finish
    Let’s finish with the finish!
The texture of wet room tiles is super important, which is why we offer ranges in both antislip - for the wet area of your room - and matching, easy to clean natural finishes for the other areas of your bathroom.
We’re also delighted to offer our new ‘No Boundaries’ range, perfect for every area of the home and garden. These beautiful designs come in a soft to touch stone effect and wood effect finish, with anti-slip technology built in. These new tiles have an R11A+B rating too, so you can fall in love with them, without falling in the shower!
