Leland and I grew up together in Success, Missouri. We were best friends. I was his first drummer back in grade school. He went on to fellow his dream and I became a trucker. Miss Leland and his wife Pam.
Thanks for the post! Even since XM America was dropped, I don't know where to get the good music anymore. Hell I'm in iraq so I guess it don't matter right now anyways LOL. Leland ROCKS!!
i've been a truck driver for 22 years.june 2006 quit to stay home with the family.but, for the last 6 mos.i been kind of missing been out there again.after watching this video,i remembered when i used to be out there, driving day and night.i still miss my truck.i like this song very much.
I met him in 2008 at the Dallas truck show. He was aware of my video, and told me that he was touched by all the comments. It let him know that his work does reach people. He seemed to be a pretty nice guy. Thanks for watching.
Roland Caston can please give some advice on how the trucking industry is for a future truck driver I'm already 21 and really wanna get into trucking because my dad does it too but he's local and I wanna be over the road. Thanks chris
You did a great job on video! I heard about him in the trade magazines & on satellite radio. I'm sad some of stars of trucking radio have gone off the air or have died. I saw him at M.A.T.S. in Louisville one year he was almost like the tale of Elvis or Garth where a trucker broke into music. I like most of his songs especially the one where he was close to retiring & the bill collectors hounded him like he was a criminal. The same thing happened to me when I got hurt at a delivery. :)
I thought that stretch of road looked familiar. Wish I had a nickel for every time I've fueled up at the Pilot in Pittston on my way from Loudon, TN to Windsor Locks, CT.
This song reminds me of my father who was a trucker in the 50's but gave it up to be home with us but I know that he was still a truck driver at heart. I drove for awhile but I had to give it up due to health issues that stemmed from a motorcycle accident that I had when I was younger. I remember him saying that once it's in your blood its not going away and he was right about that. I hope that your doing well and have a better day tomorrow.
I was in the TA lot watching a swift truck trying to back into a hole for the night when after quite a bit of time, the Swift driver got on the radio for help..I helped him back in and he wanted to give me 10 dollars, I replied no keep your weeks pay. If your truck had a trailer on it I would accept it
great video for a great song.

Yeah, I know. I generally fuel at the Pilot (the Petro isn't on our fuel list) then go park at the Petro. Better food, and more parking.
