Stop complaining about that the game is about the Templars and it will suck. 1) The reason why its called AC Rogue and not Templar's Creed is because its still in the AC universe and 'Rogue' refers to the fact that Shay switched sides. 2) The Assassins are not the 'good guys' and the Templars are not the 'bad guys'. Both sides have done devious things in order to achieve their goals. The Assassins are not the most noble people. You can have some Assassins who are just as vile as someone such as Rodrigo Borgia and Cesare Borgia and you can have some Templars who are as kind as Connor. 3) Shay wanted to leave the Order after a mission goes tragically wrong. When he leaves, the Assassins kill him and leave him for dead. He was nursed back to health by the Templars and soon decided to join, believing the Templars are a better cause. That means, if the Assassins never tried to kill Shay, he might not have joined the Templars. Stop getting in your head that 'Oh, I've been with Assassins the whole time and killing Assassins will be bad and I'll be betraying them'. Get that out of your head. This game and Unity will clearly show that both groups are neither good nor evil. Both sides are grey, not black and white. Ubisoft wants you to choose who is the lesser of the two evils.
Achilles said that he stopped being an Assassin because he lost the Colonial Assassin Brotherhood to Templars. Seeing as he's still an Assassin in Rogue, could it be that Shay is the reason Achilles stopped being an Assassin?
He's my synopsis : Achilles and Shay joined the brotherhood and were good colleagues until Shay was given an assignment that made him question everything about the brotherhood. He meets Haytham who endeavors to appeal to him about an alternative route.The mentor of the brotherhood misinterprets their conversation as an act of betrayal and betrays him which further pushes him towards the Templars. Now viewing the Templars as a more devoted cause Shay shifts allegiances and hunts the assassins until eventually having to duel the mentor and Achilles. Blatantly the mentor dies but Achilles manages to kill or fatally wounds Shay who is no longer useful to the Templars. I could be wrong but this is my prediction

The attributes good and evil are metaphysical attributes which means they can't be described by physical or mathematical laws. However I think we can agree on the fact that throwing a nuclear bomb on a city and kill 100.000 innocent civilians is certainly evil.

People need to listen. SHAY NEVER BETRAYED THE ASSASSIN'S. THEY BETRAYED HIM. They attempted to kill him after he started questioning if what they're doing is truly the right way. He was then taken in and healed back to full health by the Templars and now fights for them after seeing that they're ideals are more in line with his. Stop trying to paint the Assassin's as saints when they're not even close. They're just as bad as the Templars. This is the entire point of the Assassin's Creed franchise. A morally grey story. No good or evil. Just different ideals.
They didn't betray him, he was just punished, and when he got back to steal the book the assassins called him a traitor, but he did the right thing! He just followed orders without knowing what is on the other side (the end) of the mission! The assassins did this for personal reasons!

thomas brady They support whatever side is best for their cause. The Templars support the British in rogue but play both sides in ac3, before switching to the revolutionaries when the Brits go under. The British were dicks at the time and the french were dicks too, just less dickish. Plus the Templars have an interest in seeing the British win, so the Assassins won't let that happen. I like how as the games go on the Assassins become less about peace and more about just stopping Templars, it really does give everything a downhill feel.

You could see the Assassin is wearing Northern Native furs and sashes. Southern Natives wore, let's say, Jaguar skins. Also, the face paint is RED. Ah Tubai's was brown/green.

He looks a little light colored to be Achilles. Achilles was a really dark dude. I thought it was conner at first, but the timelime doesn't fit, I don't think conner was even born yet.

I like it how everyone in my Facebook group keep on whining and complaining that Shay actually betrayed the assassins. I tried to tell them that the assassins betrayed Shay because of a failed mission. They never listened/learned.
Haha, I know right, they're doesn't know about anything and happening to Shay's story. When the game come out and you and your facebook group play this game. They will get wrong and they're understand. I hate how people never listen sometime...
But still just because the assassins betrayed him doesn't mean he has to kill every last one. The only assassin confirmed to survive shay is Achilles as seen in the trailer twice, and Adewalé who is seen on his ship, and Haytham who is Shay's right hand man on his ship, Haytham is seen in the gameplay trailer.
I will make I guess... This guy Shay is so powerful , he kills all the Assassins ( including Adewale ) and Achilles ( you can clearly see him in the trailer ) is alive but crippled... Also , I guess that Shay is responsible for the devastation of the Assassin Brotherhood in the American Colonies.. Damn what did they do to him that pissed him so much ? Could this mystery that we all seek be that the Assassins are now the bad guys and the Templars are the good guys ? Maybe we will find that the Assassins support those who came before ? I am just giving suggestions... As far as I know , Assassin's Creed Unity and Assassin's Creed Rogue are connected somehow...
There is no clear cut good guy and bad guy in Assassin's Creed. Both the Templar's and the Assassin's seek peace, its just their methods that differ. While the Templar method is a bit more inhumane, they still want peace.
I hope this means you're gonna have a lot of support in this game. The Templars were always well organized, with well-planed movements. Slowly but surely infiltrating leading ranks of armies, towns, and such. It would be pretty damn silly now all of a sudden when you finally play a Templar to be pretty much alone like when you've always been with the Assassins
As a true assassins creed fan iam still getting both this one and unity. Even though rogue looks a little like Black Flag. Also where is his dang hood!!! Other than that looks really cool

I do. Throughout the games we've learned to dislike the Templars and agree with the Assassin's cause. Someone who is a Templar is going to be very hard to feel bad for or happy for. If something bad happens to him why would i feel bad?

So in this trailer I belive I saw; Connor (or the guy who wore his outfit before him) Adawele (ac4) Or Achilles (ac3) Now I may be wrong but it would make sence that it's adawele because his story in FC takes place 15 years after but also Achilles because shays destroying the brotherhood, also that was Connors outfit in the trailer so..
Its Adewale and Acchiles, him and Shap are fighting from 00:32 to around 00:39 and Adewale appears at around 01:04. I like them having otyer characters to connect the dots.
No way to be Connor in this event he still a kid (same time when he first met Lee) and there can't be Ade he's died around 1758 (too early for 7 years war) So Achilles is the one in this game and other maybe Achilles's Mentor I think Shay is the one who responsible for Achilles's Leg
I know Adewale is making an appearance in it, it's also definetly not Connor and more likely Achilles because Rogue is set during the 7 years war (check the wikipedia page) so Connor wouldn't have even been born
For me, I find it extremely incredible to finally play a Templar. One of my favorite characters in the AC Universe is Haytham, since he was really smart and his goals were really convincing (Typical templar). We shouldn't think the Assassins are all saints.

HERE ARE MY PREDICTIONSSSSSSS!!!!!! Shay wipes out every Assassin in the colonies. Leaving Achilles alone. (Too old, cant do anything or crippled him.) Adewale reveals the truth about Edward to Haytham, for those who dont know. Haytham never knew his dad was an Assassin. Adewale dies, by Shays hand. Shay dies at the end, pretty likely. Since Connor would have faced Shay in AC3. Shay destroys the aqulia. (Ship in AC3) So this makes the story in AC3, even more important. In Connor's time, the American assassins were basically non-exsistent. So Connor builds back the assassin order from the ground up. I love Connor even more now. Connor versus a whole templar group, that controls a whole colony.

Cross Shield Shay don't kill EVERY Assassin in the Colonies, it just hunt down some important guys. Adewale wasn't in Forsaken too, that' doesn't mean that he wasn't important or Haytham didn't know him.
Your predictions are probably correct, except the one where Adéwalé reveals the truth about Edward to Haytham. In Forsaken, Haytham never knew about Edward's role as an Assassin untill he met his sister, Jenny.
Hawkeye Achilles will not kill him, he was injured by the time, probably by Shay. Shay's story have to end up with him mate with some woman, and so the genetic memories could pass on his descendants.

This trailer started something that I like. Opinions (positive so far). Everyone wants to know, Is that Adewale ?, Was Shay battling Achilles or John De La Tour ? but I'm going to answer this ques. : It's Achilles. He was mentor of the Assassins since 1746 until his death and people you need to watch the trailer in 1080p nice and slow. His hands aren't white, They're half white-half black but his face skin IS Black with a mustache . The outfit is the traditional Mentor outfit. and that's the Homestead manor where they fought. and that's the window Achilles told Connor to "Get the hell of my land".
Why bad boys? Why not "other side"? =) Throughout all AC games player was fed by Assassins' order dogmas while not even trying to conceal "misleadings" of their creed. For example - best known phrase - "Nothing is true, everything is permitted". For those who played Deus Ex and similar games such moments should raise an alarm. And it started from the very first game. I've abandoned AC series from AC:Revelations and told myself that I'll return only when there will be another point of view (AC3 doesn't count) And here we are, finally. )
I just had the opportunity to play Rogue this year and it was cool. Gives a fresh perspective in the game where chasing Assassins are by far, harder than tailing and fighting Templars.

You can confirm that it is Achilles at 0:39 because earbuds allow you to listen to smaller details in music and voices and such. And in that small fight scene, listen closely and you can hear Achilles grunting. And right when you here it, you fan automatically tell its him
You can't have 7 games and expanded universe content showing templars as zealous, oppressive, greedy, tyrannical, evil people fighting an order of good people who only want freedom for everyone and then go back and say "but maybe their good!".
True but assassins fight for freedom there creed even says stay your blade from the blood of the innocent Templars kill who they please now tell me if killing innocents is being a good guy sure they may want peace, but didn't darth vader also say he brought peace to the galaxy? Sure good is a point of view but darth vader didn't do much good even though he thought he was. Ezio cared for the people and all he wanted was to keep people safe from the Templars who would abuse and oppress the people. But we have only seen the Templars through the eyes of the Assassin's, the Assassins have done bad things aswell. No side is good or bad, just a matter of perspective.
1rebelboy It's even mentioned (i think it's in AC4 while hacking) that Renaissance italy was a dark time for the templar order because the borgias forgot the true purpose of the order (stability, order and a new and better world essentially) and craving power for the sake of power. That's why they are actually villains in ACII and ACB.

This game takes place between 1752 and 1761. Connor was born in 1756, which means he'd only be 5 years old. If we do see him then it'll be a very small cameo at best.
The way I see it, Rogue has the making to have a better story than Unity. To everyone dismissing it purely on the fact you're hunting assassins, I feel like you're missing a very big detail: this is ASSASSIN'S Creed. They wouldn't have us kill fellow assassins without a damn good reason, and if they maintained the creative spark that gave Ezio's trilogy the poetic nature it had, then I will gladly play as the templar. HOWEVER, story aside, nothing really looks improved in this game. A blowdart reskinned as a grenade launcher. A Jackdaw with weapons slightly tweaked. A redesign of the New York map. I'm worried it will feel like I'm playing the same game twice. It was the same situation with Brotherhood and Revelations. Revelations had the better story, but also gameplay that started to get stale. I get last gen consoles can't do much more. But when you look at the leaps from 1 to 2 to brotherhood to 3, you can see there's always room for great improvement. Don't just reskin an old game. I'll be sticking with Unity at the moment, but if I hear good things about Rogue after its launch, I'll gladly pick it up too. I'll just wait and see if people are still complaining about this "dlc sold as its own game."

So many people wonder who is the Assassin in 0:39. Well im here to clarify who that could be. First of all, IT IS NOT CONNOR KENWAY. He wasn't born yet until years later. It is not CONNOR DAVENPORT, Achilles' son, because he died at the age of 6. So it can be either Achilles, or, another Assassin who is supposedly named "John De La Tour". See John was mentioned when you do the side quest to get "Achilles' original outfit" in AC3(which is the same outfit the assassin is wearing in the video); Achilles was talking about the outfit that belonged to him but it originally belonged to the first Assassin to reach the americas, which is John. John then passed it down to Achilles. So it can either only be Achilles, or John De La Tour. Your welcome.
If you remember the first prison scene in AC3 where Hickey tells Haytham about "the Assassin"(Connor) he says: ,,Guess we didn't quite get 'em all eh?" These could be a reference to Haytham and Shay hunting Assassin's in the colonies.
That's looks very interesting and WOW! I'm looked forward to play being a Templar (Shay) and the story! I know it's sad that we will killed assassins in game. Have any seen Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith? It's like Anakin Skywalker and his army kills Jedi Knights feels like almost in game! I really got shocked to saw Adewale, Haytham Kenway, and Achilles in the game! It's really great to see back! I really don't want to kill Adewale and that make me very mad but do you see at part 1:31 so Shay's army going to kill him and it's going to break my heart :( Anyway Can't wait to see Achilles! The assassins u see in 1:37 is actually achilles look closely at the outfits layer and google the out fit of achilles and they match so im guessing that that isnt connor

Achilles said that all the assassin's were wiped out, but he was spared. and why does everyone think that he was white in the trailer? he was definitely black. the scene even took place in the homestead manor! it was Achilles, and i am glad that he's back in AC Rogue. oh and don't say it's not him just because he has a mustache, facial hair isn't a permanent feature.
I have always wondered how the first colonial botherhood fell. I was expecting it to be bad, but not one of there own killing them. I will be getting this when it comes out!!!
I thought 0:38 was Connor because the outfit looks like the one you get after the Homestead missions. But then I noticed the guy had a beard and remembered Haythem was in this. Could be a young Achilles.
"A shitty game"...it's not even out yet. So far the only bad things about it are the fact that Shay shares just about all of his combat animations with Edward. I've only seen one execution that is only exclusive to Shay. Other than that this game look's good. But if you don't think so then perhaps you should just get Assassin's Creed: Unity, and shut up.

Ship to ship combat on the Morrigan looks amazing. Also -- interesting choice to set it during the Seven Years/French and Indian War, a conflict most Americans know very little about (unless they've read or watched Last of the Mohicans).
00:36, 1:37, I remember Achilles said that his robes once belonged to the first Assassin in the colonies...sooo... It's either Achilles or someone else in this trailer. Most likely the former.
Shay seems to have an interesting story. I always wanted to see how all the colonial Assassins died before Connor's time. We finally get to see young Achilles!
It shows a dark side to the Assassin's I never knew they had, and a good side to the Templar's I never thought they would have. This game was made to show you what it's like to be in the shoe's of a Templar, and see why they have chosen to go against the Assassin's. This game was a really good AC. And I've been playing AC since the beginning.
I think it would be cool to play through Haytham's story. That mission at the start of AC3 implies he was with the assassins and something happened. He seems like he probably has quite a good backstory before AC3. We also don't know what Haytham was doing for most of AC3, so they aren't too restricted and they can tie it in.
I just looked it up. I think I'll have to read that. I got a few of the other books as gifts, but they're just the story of the games aren't they? Except for Altair one which had the rest of his life.
Hloden Devourer of the Sun Forsaken, The Secret Crusade and the upcoming Unity book have original canon stuff, the Ezio ones are basically the story of the games with minor changes
Can you PLEASE tell me if Shay will have the same animations as Haytham in AC3 when you use the hidden blades and a single sword in combat? I think it would fit him perfectly in contrast to Connor's or Edward's animations when using these weapons
OMG look at 0:50! Its the hook-blades return from Revelations! Sliding around Constantinople was one of my favorite things to do in Revelations! Super stoked to see it again in Rogue.

It bothers me when people say they don’t want to play as a Templar. For me, the Templars as a whole aren’t “the bad guys,” just people whose ideology and conviction are in conflict with the Assassin heroes. I find it quite immature to not want to hear their side of the story.

Guys, Anne Bonny- from AC 4- may or may not be Shay's MOTHER. Her actual maiden name before "Bonny" was Cormac. She is Irish, as is Shay. He was also supposed to be half Welsh. Which Welsh assassin do we know of that knew Anne...?

Stop trying to paint the Assassin's as saints when they're not even close. They're just as bad as the Templars. This is the entire point of the Assassin's Creed franchise. A morally grey story. No good or evil. Just different ideals.

They didn't betray him, he was just punished, and when he got back to steal the book the assassins called him a traitor, but he did the right thing! He just followed orders without knowing what is on the other side (the end) of the mission! The assassins did this for personal reasons!

The Templars support the British in rogue but play both sides in ac3, before switching to the revolutionaries when the Brits go under. The British were dicks at the time and the french were dicks too, just less dickish. Plus the Templars have an interest in seeing the British win, so the Assassins won't let that happen.
I like how as the games go on the Assassins become less about peace and more about just stopping Templars, it really does give everything a downhill feel.

I like it how everyone in my Facebook group keep on whining and complaining that Shay actually betrayed the assassins. I tried to tell them that the assassins betrayed Shay because of a failed mission. They never listened/learned.
Haha, I know right, they're doesn't know about anything and happening to Shay's story. When the game come out and you and your facebook group play this game. They will get wrong and they're understand. I hate how people never listen sometime...
But still just because the assassins betrayed him doesn't mean he has to kill every last one. The only assassin confirmed to survive shay is Achilles as seen in the trailer twice, and Adewalé who is seen on his ship, and Haytham who is Shay's right hand man on his ship, Haytham is seen in the gameplay trailer.
I will make I guess... This guy Shay is so powerful , he kills all the Assassins ( including Adewale ) and Achilles ( you can clearly see him in the trailer ) is alive but crippled... Also , I guess that Shay is responsible for the devastation of the Assassin Brotherhood in the American Colonies.. Damn what did they do to him that pissed him so much ? Could this mystery that we all seek be that the Assassins are now the bad guys and the Templars are the good guys ? Maybe we will find that the Assassins support those who came before ? I am just giving suggestions... As far as I know , Assassin's Creed Unity and Assassin's Creed Rogue are connected somehow...
There is no clear cut good guy and bad guy in Assassin's Creed. Both the Templar's and the Assassin's seek peace, its just their methods that differ. While the Templar method is a bit more inhumane, they still want peace.

This game takes place before AC3, so he obviously doesn't kill Achilles. I'd say Achilles either wins that fight or manages to get away.

The Templars were always well organized, with well-planed movements. Slowly but surely infiltrating leading ranks of armies, towns, and such. It would be pretty damn silly now all of a sudden when you finally play a Templar to be pretty much alone like when you've always been with the Assassins

For me, I find it extremely incredible to finally play a Templar. One of my favorite characters in the AC Universe is Haytham, since he was really smart and his goals were really convincing (Typical templar). We shouldn't think the Assassins are all saints.

So this makes the story in AC3, even more important. In Connor's time, the American assassins were basically non-exsistent. So Connor builds back the assassin order from the ground up. I love Connor even more now. Connor versus a whole templar group, that controls a whole colony.

Your predictions are probably correct, except the one where Adéwalé reveals the truth about Edward to Haytham. In Forsaken, Haytham never knew about Edward's role as an Assassin untill he met his sister, Jenny.

His hands aren't white, They're half white-half black but his face skin IS Black with a mustache . The outfit is the traditional Mentor outfit. and that's the Homestead manor where they fought. and that's the window Achilles told Connor to "Get the hell of my land".

For example - best known phrase - "Nothing is true, everything is permitted". For those who played Deus Ex and similar games such moments should raise an alarm. 1rebelboy It's even mentioned (i think it's in AC4 while hacking) that Renaissance italy was a dark time for the templar order because the borgias forgot the true purpose of the order (stability, order and a new and better world essentially) and craving power for the sake of power. That's why they are actually villains in ACII and ACB.

This game takes place between 1752 and 1761. Connor was born in 1756, which means he'd only be 5 years old. If we do see him then it'll be a very small cameo at best.

The way I see it, Rogue has the making to have a better story than Unity. To everyone dismissing it purely on the fact you're hunting assassins, I feel like you're missing a very big detail: this is ASSASSIN'S Creed. They wouldn't have us kill fellow assassins without a damn good reason, and if they maintained the creative spark that gave Ezio's trilogy the poetic nature it had, then I will gladly play as the templar. HOWEVER, story aside, nothing really looks improved in this game. A blowdart reskinned as a grenade launcher. A Jackdaw with weapons slightly tweaked. A redesign of the New York map. I'm worried it will feel like I'm playing the same game twice. It was the same situation with Brotherhood and Revelations. Revelations had the better story, but also gameplay that started to get stale. I get last gen consoles can't do much more. But when you look at the leaps from 1 to 2 to brotherhood to 3, you can see there's always room for great improvement. Don't just reskin an old game. I'll be sticking with Unity at the moment, but if I hear good things about Rogue after its launch, I'll gladly pick it up too. I'll just wait and see if people are still complaining about this "dlc sold as its own game."

So many people wonder who is the Assassin in 0:39. Well im here to clarify who that could be. First of all, IT IS NOT CONNOR KENWAY. He wasn't born yet until years later. It is not CONNOR DAVENPORT, Achilles' son, because he died at the age of 6. So it can be either Achilles, or, another Assassin who is supposedly named "John De La Tour". See John was mentioned when you do the side quest to get "Achilles' original outfit" in AC3(which is the same outfit the assassin is wearing in the video); Achilles was talking about the outfit that belonged to him but it originally belonged to the first Assassin to reach the americas, which is John. John then passed it down to Achilles. So it can either only be Achilles, or John De La Tour. Your welcome.
If you remember the first prison scene in AC3 where Hickey tells Haytham about "the Assassin"(Connor) he says: ,,Guess we didn't quite get 'em all eh?" These could be a reference to Haytham and Shay hunting Assassin's in the colonies.

Ship to ship combat on the Morrigan looks amazing. Also -- interesting choice to set it during the Seven Years/French and Indian War, a conflict most Americans know very little about (unless they've read or watched Last of the Mohicans).

Shay seems to have an interesting story. I always wanted to see how all the colonial Assassins died before Connor's time. We finally get to see young Achilles!
The voice in the end of it is the honest trailers' guy.
It shows a dark side to the Assassin's I never knew they had, and a good side to the Templar's I never thought they would have. This game was made to show you what it's like to be in the shoe's of a Templar, and see why they have chosen to go against the Assassin's. This game was a really good AC.
And I've been playing AC since the beginning.

I think it would be cool to play through Haytham's story. That mission at the start of AC3 implies he was with the assassins and something happened. He seems like he probably has quite a good backstory before AC3. We also don't know what Haytham was doing for most of AC3, so they aren't too restricted and they can tie it in.
Is that Haytham's story?
I just looked it up. I think I'll have to read that. I got a few of the other books as gifts, but they're just the story of the games aren't they? Except for Altair one which had the rest of his life.
Hloden Devourer of the Sun Forsaken, The Secret Crusade and the upcoming Unity book have original canon stuff, the Ezio ones are basically the story of the games with minor changes
Oliver Bowden, an awesome writer and stays true to the source material and yeah like Ramiro said Foresaken and The Secret Crusade are a must read.
Honestly I believe we wouldn't have Edward Kenway for a protagonist if it weren't for Foresaken when you think about it

Can you PLEASE tell me if Shay will have the same animations as Haytham in AC3 when you use the hidden blades and a single sword in combat? I think it would fit him perfectly in contrast to Connor's or Edward's animations when using these weapons
OMG look at 0:50! Its the hook-blades return from Revelations! Sliding around Constantinople was one of my favorite things to do in Revelations! Super stoked to see it again in Rogue.
No hookblades, but same thing with the ziplines.
***** Buggiest? I dont recall any bugs. AC3 had the worst issues, id say AC:R is my second favorite one. Not to mention the story was great and they changed the gameplay to make it tighter.

It bothers me when people say they don’t want to play as a Templar. For me, the Templars as a whole aren’t “the bad guys,” just people whose ideology and conviction are in conflict with the Assassin heroes. I find it quite immature to not want to hear their side of the story.

That's why in assassin's creed 3 one of the templars says "Not supposed to be any of you left"..... SHAY KILLS THEM ALL MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA. So we see an old Adawale, a young Achilles and connors tribe :D

Guys, Anne Bonny- from AC 4- may or may not be Shay's MOTHER. Her actual maiden name before "Bonny" was Cormac. She is Irish, as is Shay. He was also supposed to be half Welsh. Which Welsh assassin do we know of that knew Anne...?

Born to Irish immigrants, Shay enlisted in the army and was later taken in by the Assassins after the passing of his fisherman father. Shay served the Assassins dutifully for a time, but after a mission he undertook resulted in the deaths of innocents, his belief in the order was severely shaken. As a result of his disillusionment, the Assassins turned their backs on Shay and attempted to kill him.
Shay ultimately survived this attack and was nursed back to health by a family, who gave him a new set of robes that had belonged to their son: the robes of a Templar. As Shay worked to repay the family for saving his life, he found himself beginning to view the Templars' ideals as a better path than that of the Assassins. Shay was soon set on a path of vengeance against his former brothers, and committed himself to ridding the American colonies of their presence.
i think it's apparent that Connor will fight and kill him, he's the only Assassin living in that time period that most likely can/will
