KEEP THAT PACK SEALED!!!!! Love your videos! You hit the Holy Grail of 1979 Baseball Collecting! Put that pack away & never let it see the light of day. AAA++++++
You're right, especially the worth of an unopened '79 rack pack with Ozzie on top. I'm so glad I didn't open it. Thanks for the comment. Thanks for watching Neal.
1,200 in value for that rack? I think you’re under estimating that top card homie because …. That Ozzie is clean as F and it looks good and it’s most importantly it’s one of the better centered 79 Ozzie’s that I’ve seen which is very rare for 79 or any older topps really but the late 70’s and early 80’s were extra bad when it came to centering and miscuts It’s hard to get high grades on vintage cards but they are pack fresh so you at least have a chance and just so you know and this is no exaggeration in that Ozzie card a Psa 8 which is probably between a population of 700 and 800 will easily sell for over 400 dollars A PSA 9 in that card which probably has a population of 300-400 will sell for about 2500 and drum roll please A psa 10 in that card which has a population of less then 10 sells for over 100,000 the last one sold for like 150,000 I haven’t seen a rack pack with him on front in that good of a condition in over 3 decades and I’ve never seen a rack pack with him on front graded That pack that’s on eBay is selling for only 1,200 because the Ozzie smith card is very off centered and the sellers knows if he opened it he wouldn’t get a high grade so he’s trying to milk the sealed pack factor because that Ozzie on his pack will only get a middle of the tier grade and end up worth a hundred bucks or so And the cello packs with him on front sell for so little because back then the cello packs were wrapped so tight that the front and back cards always had corner softness or damage so again the seller is aware he’ll get a lower grade so they sell it for a premium due to it being sealed But man yours looks good please don’t sell that for only 1200 , inspect that card with a magnifying glass check the back centering and if it’s at least 60/40 with sharp corners, little to no edge fraying and and the service looks good then I’d say you have a chance at a high grade and if you don’t want to chance it and sell it raw I’d price it for no less then 5,000 but if it’s close to grade worthy I’d try to find someone who was going to crack it open and grade it and try to get at least 10k for it because it’s a gamble if they look at it and feel it’s at least a 9 but a possible 10 then they’d gladly gamble for the chance and having a 6 figure card if it came back gem Bottom line is I doubt it would gem up but it’s the closest one I’ve seen (haven’t studied it cause it’s not in front of me but I did pause and stare at very intently for a long time now i have to maybe take screen shot of it and try to zoom in lol ) to at least having a fighting chance. You could have a 6 figure card but id guess you at least have a psa 9 2,500 card at sealed in a pack visible and in that condition definitely makes even more valuable Sorry this is so long but I felt it was important and I’d hate for you to sell it for 1200 when it’s clearly worth more then that with that nice condition rookie on the front
@packbuster. love your videos ..I've posted a few times is stupid that time machine doesn't send boxes to Canada. I have to buy them on ebay if I want them .
Cannot blame you whatsoever. Awesome Awesome stuff! I wonder if they grade those packs. If they do that could make the one with Ozzie showing massive. I know they will grade regular wax packs I just don't know about those. And do they even produce those packs with today's card? If they did they would probably try to charge $20 a pack.
At 3:53,there seems to be what looks like a ghost orb passing on the screen. Spooky.
Interesting, I will check that out. Thanks for watching Javit

You made the right choice, even in 2013 when this box was made, that rack pack was huge. Congrats, well centered too for that card is amazing.

I would say that 1979 rack pack is worth more than $1200. You pulled a potential gold mine there. Congrats Dave. Thanks for the video

Don't open that 1979 rack, send it to PSA and get the pack graded, congratulations on your find.
1,200 in value for that rack? I think you’re under estimating that top card homie because ….
That Ozzie is clean as F and it looks good and it’s most importantly it’s one of the better centered 79 Ozzie’s that I’ve seen which is very rare for 79 or any older topps really but the late 70’s and early 80’s were extra bad when it came to centering and miscuts
It’s hard to get high grades on vintage cards but they are pack fresh so you at least have a chance and just so you know and this is no exaggeration in that Ozzie card a
Psa 8 which is probably between a population of 700 and 800 will easily sell for over 400 dollars
A PSA 9 in that card which probably has a population of 300-400 will sell for about 2500
and drum roll please
A psa 10 in that card which has a population of less then 10 sells for over 100,000 the last one sold for like 150,000
I haven’t seen a rack pack with him on front in that good of a condition in over 3 decades and I’ve never seen a rack pack with him on front graded
That pack that’s on eBay is selling for only 1,200 because the Ozzie smith card is very off centered and the sellers knows if he opened it he wouldn’t get a high grade so he’s trying to milk the sealed pack factor because that Ozzie on his pack will only get a middle of the tier grade and end up worth a hundred bucks or so
And the cello packs with him on front sell for so little because back then the cello packs were wrapped so tight that the front and back cards always had corner softness or damage so again the seller is aware he’ll get a lower grade so they sell it for a premium due to it being sealed
But man yours looks good please don’t sell that for only 1200 , inspect that card with a magnifying glass check the back centering and if it’s at least 60/40 with sharp corners, little to no edge fraying and and the service looks good then I’d say you have a chance at a high grade and if you don’t want to chance it and sell it raw I’d price it for no less then 5,000 but if it’s close to grade worthy I’d try to find someone who was going to crack it open and grade it and try to get at least 10k for it because it’s a gamble if they look at it and feel it’s at least a 9 but a possible 10 then they’d gladly gamble for the chance and having a 6 figure card if it came back gem
Bottom line is I doubt it would gem up but it’s the closest one I’ve seen (haven’t studied it cause it’s not in front of me but I did pause and stare at very intently for a long time now i have to maybe take screen shot of it and try to zoom in lol ) to at least having a fighting chance. You could have a 6 figure card but id guess you at least have a psa 9 2,500 card at sealed in a pack visible and in that condition definitely makes even more valuable
Sorry this is so long but I felt it was important and I’d hate for you to sell it for 1200 when it’s clearly worth more then that with that nice condition rookie on the front
Wonder what that rack would go for with Smith on front
I would say at least 1K. Thanks for watching Alex
