Put fabric all around with draping in the middle as it’s the most classic. Look forward to each and every vlog. Thank you for bringing us along for your journey.
The thin gold around the cornice looks more sophisticated, it matches all the thin gold around the wall panels plus the thick one around the top will take away the stunning detail of the cornice, you guys are doing an amazing job restoring the Chateau ❤
The opening scene had me in tears!!! You all have brought this lady so far and she looks so majestic and magnificent with her warmth and Christmas cheer pouring out of the windows like gold. She’s beaming!! I love it!! 🥰
I think the smaller trim is more keeping with the Tiffany room. The larger gold trim overpowers the delicateness of the magnificent room. If possible I would have the bed in place before you make the final decision about the drapery.
Small gold trim just on the bottom , curtains coming to the centre without a pelmet as it would detract from the ornate mouldings in my opinion , great vlog again guy`s xx
I’m alone on this but I feel like the wider gold trim finishes she room off better. 😳 The fabric you chose for the bedroom is gorgeous!!! These rooms truly are stunning!❤❤
Have you thought about having a mural painted in the large oval and 2 circles in the ceiling? Something calming and ethereal would look amazing. I bet Terry could paint it. He’s so talented.
I think three half circle pieces of material hanging down in the front that would sort of mimic the half circles on the wall moulding and all the circular moulding on the ceiling. Then the two full sections of material on each side of the bed??? Just a thought...... the room is amazing! The labour of love you all put into the job is hard to fathom! Poor Tracey and those gold X’s on the ceiling......I would have thrown myself out the window by now😂💕🥂🇨🇦
The thin gold line is definitely the best choice and the curtain going to the front would be quite elegant compared to the pelmet. Just my opinion though, you always work your magic to create the best result.
Terry and Ash…just take a look around at the finished rooms. You do not need anyone else’s opinion. Your ideas are the best ones. Love the chateaux finishes.
A pelmate above the bed is my vote..different from other room..and Terry go with your gut on the gold trims..you are always right in the end. Ash you are also a definate treasure also!
Sometimes less is more on your trim problem. Also you should have a bed in hand so as to know how much to drape your fabric. I love watching your progress and can't wait to see the lights in place.😊❤
Smaller gold trim is the way to go. I so admire that you all work to your strengths. Ash with the plastering ,tiling and metal work, Terry with his artistic flare and Tracy willing to turn her hand to anything. You complement each other and that's the reason it turns out so amazingly well 👏
Use the broader gold trim as its too samey otherwise, and it all kind of disappears because of that. Also, the skirting board painted white would break up all the sameyness of the massive amount of blue and balance out the top white beautifully. On tv, the white looks great. No more blue, no more blue! 😅 It's so lovely, though, and we appreciate the massive amount of effort you put in. Don't mind about the canopy. Think dust traps though!
I got such a laugh out of Ash's giggling in this video. It is amazing to watch Ash's eye, being attuned to aesthetics , under Terry's mentorship. The next thing you know Ash will be able to see comparison between the different whites. As for Tracey, she is our golden girl, even when she is working with a sledge hammer.
Terry, have a look at todays episode of Chateau Love at 16:22 minutes. The bed has side curtains, only. It’s quite a statement piece, working with fabrics to create a grand effect. It might be a solution for your bed. Aba could help you sow the curtains and duvet cover and you could upholster the headboard.
May I suggest that you decide on the thickness of the gold detailing on the ceiling moldings last, after you've added all the gold-colored carved pieces to the paneling and painted all of the gold trim on the paneling, too. At that point, you will have a good idea as to which thickness of gold on the ceiling moldings will best compliment the room as a whole (rather than compete with it or detract from the beauty of the whole). Love how this room is turning out and am so excited to see the finished product!
1. Smaller trim 2. Fabric on the sides only, for the canopy. You can add a short fabric frill for the centre bit of the canopy. Keep it simple & elegant.
Definitely centre drape and I prefer the thin gold trim. The opening images were stunning. The chateau is looking amazing. I loved the heart-shaped shadow that embraced the front of the building during the opening shots.
Wish I could show you my pelmets I designed and made about 35 years ago and just finally took down last summer... I'm on Team Pelmet because hopefully that could leave you enough of that beautiful fabric to bring it onto the bed either as nice cushions, or bedskirt, or the center of a pieced bedspread along with some gold border fabric. The room is moving along quickly and beautifully and I think the thin gold trim is the right look. (And a bit less pain in Tracey's neck.)
I agree a small sleek pelmet at the front (box pleats.semi circle or concave scallop) with gathered drapes on the sides would work well. With full drape to the centre you run the risk of overpowering the room. The window would mirror the same pelmet with gathered drapes on a rod that can close fully, when opened they would be mirror images. Of course the only right answer is the thin boarder.
Find some solid colored silk for the bed. If you can match the color of the background of the drape in silk and use it as the bedspread/cover/overlay, it will give you an unmatched richness. Also, just a thought, maybe adding the lighter green to the crest in that middle area around the letters would bring the entire room up into the ceiling and add an over the top (literally) unexpected richness to the canopy 😀
?? You might want to consider adding a lighter color 'contrast' fabric lining to the blue/gold brocade fabric you have matching the room, and cover the entire back wall of the bed with the same lighter colored fabric, (eliminate anyone seeing the strange mix of uneven panels at the back of the bed... you could save time and money, by not finishing the panels behind the bed too as they would be covered with the contrast fabric draped over them.) As a reference for the clever use of contrast fabrics for a bed canopy, you could look at Marie Antoinette’s bedroom at Le Petit Trianon. The use of fabric draped at the back of the bed and lining the fabric would add interest, and break up soooo much paneling in that VERY flashy room... you could upholster a comfy armchair chair in the same lighter fabric for a statement piece. (Or if you don't want to tone it down, and MORE GOLD is in order, then you could line the blue/gold brocade fabric with a flashy gold lame to match all of the gold in the room, and add a lush gold lame duvet on the bed, to really set the room off.)
Bring the curtains from the center over the bed. Add some fringe to the fabric. Feel free to bring in deep orange and green into the color scheme with accent chair and artwork
I would keep the sides of the curtains long and do a short curtain across the front! Classic look kinda like a “half teaster bed (what we call them in the US) Thin gold on the molding!!! Looking fantastic y’all … A tall wood head board w very intraget scroll works and a shorter foot board!! My 3 cents worth!
Smaller gold trim, and with the bed canopy I like your idea of draping on the sides and smaller skirting in the front to bring both sides together, it's all so lovely, I always look forward to your videos and seeing it all come together.✨👏🏻❤️🥂
Definitely being the fabric around and drape it and the thinner gold will look much better. The thicker is too much. Love watching your videos and you guys work so hard. It's going to be absolutely gorgeous.
Agree with fine gold trim . With fabric, leave down the sides as you have it , then have a short scalloped piece of fabric at the front of the pelmet . Otherwise you are going to have trouble tying the fabric back to side of bed, it will need to go behind a headboard so it doesn't hit someone in the head if it's too long. Try it see what you think ?
Hi curtains to the cartouche and the small trim if you think it's needed. But don't forget you are doing the lovely sponge effect. There is a balance to maintain. It's all very beautiful but could easily tip toward too much. Less in this case is more, I think. Good luck. ❤
Use draping/pelmets around the canopy and the curtains behind the draping/pelmets coming only to the corners of the cornice over the bed. Gold on the small bead trim at the cornice.
I agree with the others on here, the small gold trim, the room is not that large, and you can overdo things! remind Terry of the old saying, "Good things come in small doses" or another saying, "just because you can, doesn't mean you should"😊
Curtains - drape from the center. Regarding the ceiling, don't add another thing. Less is more. It looks so elegant as it is. Just paint over your pencil lines.
Stunning, stunning, stunning! I LOVE seeing the process and your rooms are STUNNING! Oh, did I mention stunning? 😃 I am so curious to see what you have in store for the bathroom. I imagine it will be stunning as well. Ash is workingn so hard in there. Good on him. It's all going to be a wonderful experience. You all deserve to reap the rewards of your hard work.
Hi folks I would drape from the centre and the thin gold trim is better the room already looks elegant and it's not finished can't wait to see the finished suite
For the curtains around the bed I would go all the way across and draped also with a pelmet. That will disguise the difference in the paneling. For the gold banding around the ceiling I would go for the thinner because it matches the rest of the room.
Put the WIDER GOLD ON THE BOTTOM of crown and the thin like all the rest. THIN IN THE TOP A small fabric valance across the front of the crown The tailored tie back drapery on the sides is perfect.
Terry give over with your small trim, big trim. Poor Tracy all that gold painting. Terry you can go over the top as you have with decisions BUT SMALL TRIM is perfect.
Drape from the cartouche. If you don't the drape fabric will be lost from the doorway, and the window drapes will over dominate since they will be facing the room. Are you draping the wall behind the bed? I love the room. You could build a sizable house if you guys would have paid to have this done by a company. Amazing!
One smaller trim on the bottom for the ceiling edge. I would also say that the gold on the door is too much also. It's too heavy for the room and is distracting. I would do the two small trims on either side of where it is painted gold. More in keeping with the room.
Plan for all scenarios Terry and once you do have the bed you've found it will dictate to you what needs to be done to finish it off. Isnt that the way of design? Go with the smaller trim first. You can always add more gold.
Just glorious! As for the curtain around the top of the bed, I would most definitely take them to the centre and drape them back to the sides as the curve will fit in well with the curves in the panelling, a pelmet on the front would not suit and neither would finishing the curtains at the side. You're all doing a great job in this room xxx
I see Ash is still in the festive mood & getting plastered, he’s becoming a real pro. Keep going Tracey, there’s light at the end of the tunnel.❤ Great to see Terry attaching the skirting, amazing what a difference it makes. As discussed between Terry & Ash, I think I agree with Ash. Just gold on the lower edge as there will be gold highlighting on the coving. I think ballon draping the material each side from the centre chateau motive would look wonderful. Whatever Terry decides I know will be right decision for the room. Great work all. ❤❤❤❤
Love pelmets with tassels. Good idea Terry pelmet around and from the middle drapes either side. I like bigger trim myself you can’t really see the smaller trim. Anyway Terry I’m sure what you decide will be the way to go 😁😬🤩
I agree with Mom and Ash narrow gold trim on the bottom and I think the pelmet underneath the cartouche would be stunning
Thanks Alice 🥰
Put fabric all around with draping in the middle as it’s the most classic. Look forward to each and every vlog. Thank you for bringing us along for your journey.
Yes! Thank you! 🤩
I think so, too! ❤
I totally agree
The fabric is perfect against those panels.
yep
The thin gold around the cornice looks more sophisticated, it matches all the thin gold around the wall panels plus the thick one around the top will take away the stunning detail of the cornice, you guys are doing an amazing job restoring the Chateau ❤
Curtains - drape from the centre.
Gold trim - thin lines.
My 2 cents 😊
YES! 👍
Small trim only on the bottom! Bring fabric to the centre & drape, but NO to small pelmet around, the plaster shape & cartouches are your pelmet
The opening scene had me in tears!!! You all have brought this lady so far and she looks so majestic and magnificent with her warmth and Christmas cheer pouring out of the windows like gold. She’s beaming!! I love it!! 🥰
Thank you so much! 🥰
Tracy is preparing herself for the lead role in the film "Goldfinger" ☺
I think the smaller trim is more keeping with the Tiffany room. The larger gold trim overpowers the delicateness of the magnificent room. If possible I would have the bed in place before you make the final decision about the drapery.
Small gold trim just on the bottom , curtains coming to the centre without a pelmet as it would detract from the ornate mouldings in my opinion , great vlog again guy`s xx
Narrow trim. I agree w Ash. Also fabric draped in the center over the bed.
Thanks Ellen 🥰
And dont forget all the '30' that agreed with her. @@chateaudelalacelle
I like the return edge detail on the skirting boards. Looking good.
I’m alone on this but I feel like the wider gold trim finishes she room off better. 😳 The fabric you chose for the bedroom is gorgeous!!!
These rooms truly are stunning!❤❤
The vintage fabric is beautiful! Looks great with wall color!
Thank you! 😊
Smaller trim and wait for bed to decide the positioning of the drape over the bed. Lovely guys! Loving Tracy's headgear!!

Small gold trim is the way to go I thing. I absolutely love this room, it’s like a piece of Wedgwood, beautiful and delicate
Thanks so much! 🥰
Narrow trim…more elegant. Drape the bed curtains from the centre. Looks stunning. I’m really liking the wall colours and the fabric
Bedspread should be the blue we see in the fabric. So beautiful!! 😊
Smaller gold trim is the way to go.
I so admire that you all work to your strengths. Ash with the plastering ,tiling and metal work, Terry with his artistic flare and Tracy willing to turn her hand to anything. You complement each other and that's the reason it turns out so amazingly well 👏

The chateau drone video in the beginning with the lights all on is striking! The visage is spectacular! You've all done a great job with your home!
I vote for the thinner trim; and yes to a pelmet with the curtains on the sides! Such dedication and masterly attention to detail is impressive!
May I suggest that you decide on the thickness of the gold detailing on the ceiling moldings last, after you've added all the gold-colored carved pieces to the paneling and painted all of the gold trim on the paneling, too. yes,, bless your Mom! If I were ever lucky enough to meet Tracey - I would tell her how much I admire her!
hi tracey, ash and terry, what a great vlog again, the lighting on the fence at the beginning looks great !!!
Thanks so much! 😊
Each room as their own unique style and with the touch of gold in each room brings cohesiveness
God bless
With much love from West Central Texas
🙏🏼💜🩷
My vote is for the thinner gold trim! The room is so beautiful at this stage. Looking forward to seeing the room finished!👌
I'd hate to cover the walls, so on the sides, hanging down. Ash, you are correct! Terry is way too creative! Thinner trim is better.
Thanks Melanie 🥰
Definitely centre drape and I prefer the thin gold trim. The opening images were stunning. The chateau is looking amazing. I loved the heart-shaped shadow that embraced the front of the building during the opening shots.

What progress 👍👍👍
I think the smaller trim, looks classy and just side curtains by the bed
Wonderful to see it all coming together !
The fabric is so lovely!
Curtains: also draping on the front
Trim: little

Just falling in love with the colours. You are all rockstars
Everything has turned out fantastic, it is a place of dreams. Congratulations
Thank you 🥰
Yes do the pelmet and drap from the middle, also the small trim paint. Great effort by you three!!👏👏👏
God Bless you Terry. (you sneezed)😂
Narrow gold trim. My vote. 🩵💛🩵💛

Love the introductory Music, very pleasant!
I would keep the sides of the curtains long and do a short curtain across the front! Classic look kinda like a “half teaster bed (what we call them in the US)
Thin gold on the molding!!! Looking fantastic y’all …
A tall wood head board w very intraget scroll works and a shorter foot board!! My 3 cents worth!
Personally I’d have the drapes all the way round the ciel de lit, mirroring what will be opposite. Love the fabric too!
Take it to the centre
Smaller gold trim, and with the bed canopy I like your idea of draping on the sides and smaller skirting in the front to bring both sides together, it's all so lovely, I always look forward to your videos and seeing it all come together.✨👏🏻❤️🥂

Terry - you are very talented. Like that you try different things so do what you like
I add my vote to no pelmet, centre drape and thin gold paint. The room is going to look sumptuous.

I don’t know if I have been oblivious or not, but I just saw a box pop up with the name of the music. Very nice.
Stunning, stunning, stunning! I LOVE seeing the process and your rooms are STUNNING! Oh, did I mention stunning? 😃 I am so curious to see what you have in store for the bathroom. Oh thank you! 🤩
The night view is magical now!

For the gold banding around the ceiling I would go for the thinner because it matches the rest of the room.
Blue doesn't look like it matches but not sure on tv. You always have excellent taste! Can't wait to see it!!😊
I like the pelmet idea myself. You want this bedroom to look totally different than the other bedrooms.
I love the music your using with these vlogs. 💕
You guys are amazing, all of you, man I'm so impressed by your work, and your mother is the best in your group.
Thank you so much
Put the WIDER GOLD ON THE BOTTOM of
crown and the thin like all the rest. THIN IN THE TOP
A small fabric valance across the front of the crown
The tailored tie back drapery on the sides is perfect.
Looks like a trip out to a brocante for bed hunting. ❤️
Voting for thin gold line. Drape that stunning fabric to center middle. No pelmet.
fabric drapes to the centre small line of gold on the ceiling love your attention to detail it all looks amazing
The blue & gold fabric is just gorgeous! It suits the space so well. I'd love to see it draped sumptiously from the middle.
You all make a great team!
The drapes are perfect! ❤
Thanks Melanie 🥰
Hi guys, looking great, gather the drapes in the middle. Regards and Merry Christmas, from Melbourne. Australia
Terry give over with your small trim, big trim. Poor Tracy all that gold painting. Terry you can go over the top as you have with decisions BUT SMALL TRIM is perfect.
Ash, I agree with you. Terry is a job finder. 😊
I love your returns
Continue the drapes to the cartouche on the bed and put a similar cartouche on the window trim but leave off the initials on that one.
Make pelmet. Bring fabric all the way around. Put the fabric on wall behind headboard
I like the larger gold strip on the crown molding. Either… 😊
Drape from the cartouche. If you don't the drape fabric will be lost from the doorway, and the window drapes will over dominate since they will be facing the room. Are you draping the wall behind the bed? I love the room. You could build a sizable house if you guys would have paid to have this done by a company. Amazing!
I appreciate the returns!
Thanks Ellen 🥰

I vote bringing the curtains to the center like you did in the other room, and the smaller trim. But it is up to you. You always do a great job 😊❤
Thank you 🥰
Plan for all scenarios Terry and once you do have the bed you've found it will dictate to you what needs to be done to finish it off. Isnt that the way of design?
Go with the smaller trim first. You can always add more gold.
I actually think ending the fabric where it is gives a lovely clean line……not everything needs excess.
Just glorious! As for the curtain around the top of the bed, I would most definitely take them to the centre and drape them back to the sides as the curve will fit in well with the curves in the panelling, a pelmet on the front would not suit and neither would finishing the curtains at the side. Thin gold trim and material to the center 👍🏼
The place is stunning in the drone intro!!! I hope there are a few days off in the future to really enjoy Christmas together.
Thank you 🥰
I can't wait to see what bed is put in the room. I'm all for more curtains & more gold! More is more!
Me too Dodi 🤣🤣🤣
Me too😅❤!
Love pelmets with tassels. Good idea Terry pelmet around and from the middle drapes either side. I like bigger trim myself you can’t really see the smaller trim. Anyway Terry I’m sure what you decide will be the way to go 😁😬🤩
Perfect the color for the curtains that match with the colors on the wall . Very nice
Thanks so much 😊
The fabric is stunning!! Whatever Terry chooses, I'm sure will be perfect!
Thank you! 😊
