Must have watched this a thousand times, I just love watching the midway in a big swell. Did Tim prefer it over the scupper as he wanted to paddle the midway back. I'm getting used to wind and waves behind me now but the wife really struggles ATM. I caught a wave in mine during the jubilee bank holiday, first time and although small it was great fun suddenly motoring along 😁😎
I can't remember to be honest. He did like it though. Mostly we discussed what utter dickheads the volunteer cgs were on this occasion! They put us at risk and their own at risk.
Probably one of the best sit on top seakayaks on the market!! A good piece of equipment as it was our choice of craft for five years! And thrustworthy in these conditions!!
@@Codbotherer Yes I absolutely love the midway and I can see , your video has been tremendously helpful to other paddlers also! Thanks again geeza 🙂 🙏🙏
What shitty weather lol. Still this has helped me a bit more in my kayak search. I've gone around the houses from 17ft sea to 15-14ft tourer to Triumph 13 then Islay 14 SOT and now the RTM Tempo. But matey just pointed out you need to edge it with wind and waves behind which I take it is because of no skeg. This is my ????? point, but given its overall capabilities I guess I can gloss over that and learn to edge. It's a good price too and such a sea worthy sot. It looks to be near perfect.
What are you looking to use it for? I have the Scupper Pro, Tempo (sold the Middway) and a composite Necky Chatham 17 (would sell it now if I could be bothered as I don't often use it anymore). The first three for fishing, the necky for touring - that is way better if you are just paddling, especially for distance, a cracking kayak but of course requires a higher degree of skill. Tempo and Scupper are practically the same, scupper is more rigid and better drainage, the tempo is a little lighter, not sure which I prefer overall. The Midway has a grooved hull so it's good for going straight but isn't as agile as the other two when it comes to turning.
Oh, I put up written testing reviews etc of the Midway on the internet if you want something to read that gives plenty of info: teamrtmuk.weebly.com/team-kayaks/snappers-dag-midway-angler
@@Codbotherer coastal touring with the ability to snorkel from it aswell. But I want to be able to cover some ground with relative ease. Don't want to grow out of it but be able to progress and kayak in rougher conditions than just calm. Just read your comment on 'rubber duck bath toy colours', thanks lol. I was after bright bath toy yellow and orange but that comment aswell as seeing the tempo angler in black has made me think twice about them colours now.
Nice video! I'm very interested in the Midway, but concerned that I may be too big/heavy: I'm 6-2/218lbs and read that these kayaks are best suited for someone under 200lbs? By the time I add camping gear, I'll be around 260lbs...too much weight for the Midway? Thanks in advance. Btw, I'm a experienced paddler with a sea kayak and a inflatable white water kayak.

I agree 100% as you may have guessed I also have one 🙂
Great kit
This video is the reason I bought my midway back in 2018! Thanks for sharing 🙏🙏
I hope you like it! Really nice of you to pop by and say thanks, it's appreciated 😀

@@slabbyrider8665 Tempo or Scupper then. Go bright though, it's more visible for other water users. whether searching or not paying attention.

HI ...if you have to put a calification on the dag midway... is more a 6 or a 8??
I'm not sure what you mean? If I assume you mean a rating out of 10 I'd say an 8/10 overall

Jim McCarthy yes, I'd say that's too heavy for this kayak.
What is an inflatable white water kayak?
Excellent je veux le mêmes !! ;-)
Super!

no hablo español, lo siento
The color is beautiful! Or the lack thereof. Multicolor finish they use on most kayaks is distasteful.
Yeah, all mine have been solid colour kayaks - white, black or yellow
