Our pawnshops here are full of sun faded kinnect games, wii fits and Maddens for every console. Flea markets used to be my go to for people renting tables just for a weekend. Found a lot of good deals! I lucked up helping out my local gamestore with repairing his consoles and getting paid with games lol.
I’ve noticed pawn shops and thrift stores, places like that, seem to know games are worth money but don’t have enough info to know the true value of them. It’s awful
Yeah, nothing worse than trying to haggle with someone who wants to counter after reviewing ebay listing prices and not factoring in ebay or shipping premiums. I don't mind paying a fair price, but if I'm paying ebay prices, I'll buy from ebay where I'm protected if it doesn't work.
I'd like to know why everyone on RUclips has GameStop stores that sell retro. The ones here never have. They barely have any games at all on the shelves anymore.
It’s hard out here in these streets for us collectors. For real….I can’t tell you how many pawn shops and thrift stores Ive been to lately that don’t price their games and look up the prices when you bring a game to the front. It’s ridiculous…..so good luck with hunting!
I know, right!?! I don't have many that look up the prices. But several of them price all PS4 games at $25... it's maddening to see Madden 2017 going for that
Over here in Ireland and the UK my favourite spot to shop physically is CEX shops (second had electronics trade stores). I got Drakengard on the PS2 for €10 just the other day. Depending on the shop they don't match prices online too often. Sadly games shops are slowly vanishing here.
That mid-size city statement was so true here.... Crappy pawnshops, one terrible GameStop, and a goodwill is all I have to choose from. So I pretty much just bounce back and forth from eBay to Amazon for my retro games.
"They're killin' somethin.." 🤣 Bro, I just found your channel and I gotta say I really like your sense of humor and you just earned another new subsciber for your funny entertaining style. Keep it going man! 👍😎
I live in a rural community and don't find a ton of games, but I have scored some awesome deals because of a lack of competition. I found a $5 GBA SP at my pawn shop last week, and $1 xbox 360 games at the thrift store yesterday. Over $100 in value so not bad at all.
Nobody is talking about how the games market got turboscrewed when crypto crashed and the hustlebro invest folks started treating retro games like bitcoin. Sad state of affairs.
I just told one of my Students about retro games and he was absolutely clueless!! Then he started names games he still had from ps3 and 360 days.. he was shocked to know NCAA 14 was worth 400$ if someone truly wanted it😂😂
Probably it's because I haven't searched enough but here in Austin it seems there is a similar issue with lack of good games in pawn shops and Goodwill stores. There are some independent retro stores but deals are hard to come by. Good luck!
Online console stores closing sees that trend where its physical games see a spike , we saw that briefly with the ps3 when sony announced the closing of its online front, now with the xbox 360. Am i missing something with the wii? Whats the reason for the assumption that thier prices will hike? Its online store closed awhile ago
The problem with big cities like Chicago is they have more stores, and maybe more inventory - but virtually no deals to be had. Mainly because the population density is crazy and the demand is bigger than the supply, hence high prices. You are better off on Ebay than hunting at games stores unless you want to pay top dollar and don't care about getting a deal.
You make a good point... but sometimes it's still nice to window shop a little. Also, you have the option of trading in all your low-end chaff for something really cool. At most of my local stores, they consider SMB3 as a holy grail game 🤣
One of the uks massive gaming outlets has just stopped buying and selling preowned games very strange! I hope they don’t know something we don’t . The outlet is called game I think it’s equivalent to your game stop :)
My LCS has a whole retrovideo game room and he sells for realistic prices, recently grabbed Brutal Legend for PS3 for $9.00 and Twisted Metal PS3 for $24.00, I've known the guy for the 30 years he's had the shop so he's established, but it seems around here people are watching videos and are starting to hunt PS3's , I personally have had my super slim since brand new and been buying all along so I'm good here. Awesome video..keep up the awesome work!
That's pretty much what my area looks like, purely from how many resellers there are. Pot calling the kettle black sure, but I want some games for myself every now and then.
Dude I feel you!. There's nothing! and its been like this for years. I've stopped wasting my gas a while ago and just hit up Ebay, Amazon and Mercari occasionally. Great videos by the way bro, I'm absolutely subscribing.
Thanks for subscribing, brother! I really appreciate the support. I can handle wasting the money on gas while hunting... but I absolutely hate the feeling that I wasted my time. Keep it up, though. There are still deals to be had out there. You just have to look a little harder
As always, love the content. I stopped by my local game store yesterday after work. Got a couple Dreamcast games, go to the counter and they have a box of Atari 2600 games on the counter. He says you can have a couple for free if you want…I’m like for real!? So I grab pitfall 2 and tunnel runner. With manuals! Those are like…25-30 dollar games. Then he says, the rest are 3 bucks a piece. So I walked outta there with 14 Atari games for 36 bucks. Price charting had them valued at 140 dollars in total! Granted, it’s Atari, but that was my best score in a while.
Heck yeah! That's awesome! One of the gamestore owners in my town didn't know what a dreamcast was.... 🤣 Congrats on the deals! And thanks so much for watching
Well I can tell you our area doesn't do great with thrift stores and our GameStop only has new gen games. It's kind of ridiculous but our pawn shops. A few of them at least are really really good. Loved the games you listed. We also had an Until Dawn in our picks BUT we threw in Rush of Blood 😊
I watched your video.... I don't remember you picking until dawn.... but then again, I watch about 2 hours of your videos every week. It's hard to keep it all straight 😆
I love Gabriel Knight series. First one is my favorite, but all three are good. I bought them back in the day, but I threw boxes out, because they took too much space. My biggest regret was getting rid of Moonstone box for Amiga. That game goes for a lot these days.
Okami is such a great game! And while i understand why it would be called a Zelda clone, they're just based on the same (basic) Japanese mythology. Both are great!
I can’t get over how much these stores have skyrocketed the prices on certain games, especially 360 from what I’ve heard lately. It’s definitely still possible to find solid games for under $10, but it just got more challenging lol. Great video man!
Thanks, brother!!! It's hard work down in the collecting mines. Toiling away, day after day, eaking out a living to provide hidden gems to feed my family..
Hard to find good deals in the wild. Where I live the largest chain of 'pawn shops' in the country all post most of their stuff online. I find deals getting in quick online.
Americans raided the Japanese retro market, bought games cheap and flip them on eBay for 10x the price, they've done it here too. I wanted Shenmue 2 for my Dreamcast collection, nice and cheap, £25. But the sudden influx of US (what I assumed to be tourists) collectors came in droves and bought out entire retro store stocks of games for older systems. The Shenmue 2 I was saving for, the same "Once Was New" price sticker on it was on eBay last week for $410 on bid. It's making it hard for us who want to play and build our old collections to do so, all because these people want to make some easy money.
The internet has been a boon for collectors while conversely it's made collecting difficult because anyone and everyone can sell something "rare" and they all base their prices off of a couple high end sale prices. Some things I'm like there are 100 of these on eBay, why are they all $120? That's not "rare." Plus physical shops are like well we have overhead so we aren't going to sell something for less than an internet seller. And honestly scalping and flipping is terrible for the common consumer/collector.
The artificial bubble still hasn't fully burst either. The scam of unopened retro game auction house (WATA - checkout the Karl Jobst video if you need a good investigative reporter breaking it down) ruined the pricing of all retro games by creating a tulip market. Point is, a lot of folks are still riding that train & prices are still inflated artificially by speculators. The market will normalize at some point, as it always does - supply & demand always wins.
So glad I'm done with all that driving around looking for games, been there done that. I just don't have time for it, getting old, I’ll continue to play what I already have.
If it's any consolation I did find two copies of wet for $15 each complete a copy of bullet witch for $15 and a copy of venetica for the 360 for 5$. Hard to find good deals nowadays
@@RNGGamerYT Goodwill on ebay is schizophrenic as well. You'll find a game for $5 and it's worth $50... and then another worse condition of that exact same game listed at $50. The only goodwill they have remaining is guaranteed uncertainty.
@RNGGamerYT I'm actually going game hunting later today. I'm trading away a nice chunk of my collection to try and get a Holy grail game on the ps2 and some vita games. I'll have a video on it later if wanna see if I have any success
All games don't have the same rarity! The halo games are the most common games on the system. There are some extremely obscure games on the Xbox consoles 🤣
I like stopping by retro game shps when I travel. I just try not to get my hopes up too high (everything is mad $$). Managed to snag a Toaplan shooters collection for only slightly over double retail last time I was out. Probably the only way I was getting my hands on a reasonable zero wing though. When I was tidying up part of my small collection I tried explaining to my wife that having a cardboard box and some manuals greatly increased the value to collectors. She thinks I'm nuts. I think she's right 🤣
@@RNGGamerYT I was happy to see the shop had already opened the collector's box to check the carts. That keeps me from worrying about losing value. I bought the games to play 🤣 I already have Hellfire and Truxton CIB and absolutely love those games, but I haven't seen a Genesis Fireshark or Zero Wing in the wild. CIB for those games is probably more expensive than the Toaplan collection price that I got it for. I was so mad when I realized I missed the retrobit release order window by a couple of weeks. I had no idea that games were being rereleased like that at the time. I made sure to preorder darius extra, gleylancer and eliminate down as soon as they became available (anything else I'm missing?) 😅
What kind of auctions are you going to? I'd love to learn more about these 😆 It's probably better that you don't have a Costco nearby. No where else can you spend $360 to save $40
@@RNGGamerYT just household auctions. A lot of them are estate auctions when someone passes away and the family doesn’t want to hassle with all the stuff their relative had. Luckily most of the people who attend these auctions around here are not looking for video games, so when games do show up, they go for way under market value. Would love to see you make “Game Hunting at a local Auction” video.
@AndrewsClayCreations ahhhh. We don't have many estate auctions around here. Although, I've been to quite a few. It's usually the same 3 companies that run the estate sales, price everything too high so.ot doesn't sell, then have a clause in their contract that says they can buy unsold items at 20 cents on the dollar. Then they cart off the whole estate to their countless antique and thrift stores they own
Pawn shop today, dude sold me King of Fighters XIII on Xbox 360 for…you guessed it $10. No manual, box was in nice shape, great deal. The shelves in your pawn shops look like mine most of the time.
A charity shop maybe about 6months ago opened up and it's for cats&dogs so I'm glad I always get to give them money. They do games for a quid each but it's right by cex so games go instantly except fifa or pro Evo, so I just get my dvds from there as they are 10 for a quid🎉
That's awesome! I'm glad to hear that a charity shop is doing some good charity work. Around here, the shop itself is the charity and get everything for free and just make a profit on it
i like the format of the video - game hunting (despite the frustration of it) on one hand while making solid $10 gem suggestions on the other. Def annoying to see so little across such a wide variety of stores though sadly as far as good deals worth grabbing but that's a nice add for the Saturn collection outside of looking for the cheaper finds. Personally haven't been game hunting in awhile for a day like that at Gamestops, Pawns, Thrifts, Mainstream Retailers, and Game Shops but most times honestly are fails for me too since leaving the big city with maybe 1 exception. Xbox 360 is still the last/most current physical media console I personally feel any nostalgia for (until Switch becomes the older system with Nintendo I suppose) so I'm glad I picked up most of what I ever wanted years ago. Fun video man, game hunting may be ruined but the fun is in the trying sometimes not even the results
Thanks love, brother! I'm glad you enjoyed the format. The truth is, this was only about half of the stops I made. I cut out the rest 🤣 I feel a lot of nostalgia even for the newer systems. But the 360 was something special@
Yeah, I'm in St. Louis and it's very similar. We have quite a few stores, but not where I could juat go and find something I want every time. Part of that just comes with having a fairly large, old collection. For old systems, I have most of what I want, amd what I don't have rarely just turns up. For modern systems, I mostly play indie games, so it's always stuff I have to find online anyway. Most times I go to GameStop, I just end up buying Pokémon cards for my kids instead of a game for myself or the family. Years ago, we had some amazing stores that are no longer around for various reasons. Some, the owner just retired, others moved, some went under. There are several thriving, and if I was starting a brand new collection, I could find all sorts of good stuff. When you have a few thousand games that you wanted, it starts to get tough to find stuff that's not just filler, but I'm okay with that. I'd rather just get fewer games that I actually want instead of trying to pad out numbers to make my collection just sound bigger at this point. I do miss being able to just go hunt for stuff, as ordering online is never as satisfying, but such is the nature of the beast.
I loved this comment! It's always harder and harder to find stuff as your collection grows. But at least I'm discovering new stuff that I didn't know about before. Some of it is even common!
I live in Brooklyn…you ain’t getting a lot of deals here. Granted we have some great retro game stores in NYC. You’ll find some rare stuff on shelves but they’re all pretty much priced exactly at price charting value, maybe plus a surcharge to cover rent.
Lol! Your town looks like mine in So Cal. There are no games at the thrift. Here, you go to the swap meet (flea Market in your part of the world. ). If the thrift does have games, they are either sports games or Ebay prices.
Exactly.... so many people have been messaging me and telling me that same thing. I was at a convention this weekend. It had almost anything you'd want
@@RNGGamerYT yup! We also frequent mom and pop game stores. Everything they sell is on the level, which is great if you are just collecting, not so great for reselling. You might get lucky from FB market place, but the people out here ain't giving you any deals either.
This is honestly why I gave up collecting for my Ps2. I live in a mostly rural area, but the finds are few and far between. I have to travel 30-50 miles to get to most retro stores near me. There are some deals to be had there at times, but sometimes it's just not worth dealing with the owners and sullen staff. It really irks me that some store owners just aren't in it for the passion anymore (MOST; NOT ALL). It's not all bad, I've had good experiences these places too though. The other main thing keeping me from retro collecting is also my modern backlog. Games are coming out so quick I barely have time to finish them. Really hard to balance that when some days I feel like going completely retro and some days I feel I need to catch up on current games before I buy a new one.
You're exactly right. I think a ton of people feel exactly like you. But, I've seen several new shops pop up out there that have a passion and love for gaming. Hopefully, they can be the ones to carry the torch forward in the future.
I'm tempted to put a little blame on the companies themselves. Last I checked, SquareEnix STILL directly sells some (brand new) PS1/2 games. I know IP rights can change hands, and certain limited-time licenses (eg. music tracks) can make things complicated, but for companies that still have the rights to desirable games? Print up some more copies, in my opinion.
We have one chain of game stores, and the prices are about 10-20% cheaper than eBay, so I often just save up and just buy in bulk from them. It means that game hunting for me is pretty dead since I just buy them from one store, but it funds a mid-sized retailer which I approve of. Question: Is there a good game to learn guitar by?
That seems like a really good store!!! I'm envious you have one that nice around. Rocksmith is OK for guitar. But it's better to just take an online course if you really want to learn. Or take from me in person 🤣 Lauri, I really appreciate all your support of my channel! Don't think it's gone unnoticed.
Great video, man. Catching up on my youtubing. Im not sure if this is the right place to post but have you seen Accursed Farms stop killing games video? Its more about the shenanigans of publishers. It seems to me that the distrust some publishers are sewing in the community and how difficult it is to find hard copies are related. People are saving the old games they have and snapping up titles as they see then in stores, driving up prices.
I haven't seen that video, but it all makes perfect sense. Video games have such a deep rooted effect on people that there is always going to be a lot of passion and emotion centered around them. I mean, people identify themselves as gamers. When publishers start screwing around with that, it's no wonder people start getting offended. Thanks for catching up on my videos!
I remember my siblings cousins and me playing plants vs zombies on the ps3 it’s allot harder than it looks I remember playing it on my mom’s old iPad when I was like 6
Challenge accepted! haha Plants Vs. Zombies and Peggle are an awesome choice! Two of my favorites. Okami as well. Such a great game although I have never played the Wii version. Great video as always!
I'm going to be honest an I love supporting local stores...BUT...The fact that they have overhead is no excuse to price games above market value. That's scummy and it takes advantage of people that don't know any better.
I agree! I'll pay fair market value... but not more. These places pay 30% of the value a lot of time to aquire their inventory. Even if they triple up, that should be 10% below market value 🤣
@@RNGGamerYT True. They should WANT to price their items lower than eBay to get people in the store. Local game stores just seem to be museums. They have a lot of stuff that won't ever sell and it's all collecting dust. People trade in the dog shit that they get cheap at garage sales and use the trade credit to poach the higher end games. But the store is just left with common mid-tier games that no one wants. I got in a argument with a person that owns a game store once. I asked "why people should drive to the store, pay more than eBay and drive home." In addition "If the game is defective I have to drive back to the store, get a replacement game OR trade credit and then drive back home." He said...and I quote... "We provide a unique atmosphere at my store." Most of these places will be out of business in 5 years.
@CMRetroGaming you hit the nail on the head!!! If you want people in your store, you really have to make it a destination!!! You're right about everyone trading in common stuff towards high-end games. It's frustrating
Prices are ridiculous anymore. I might start looking for wii deals. Only played that system a hand full of times. I need some of those dragon quest games for ds. If that dude reads this. Lol. Another great video man!! Keep it up!
Until Dawn was fun for what it was. And there is no way i'm getting rid of any of physical media with prices going up. No way... Also, I have a lot of PS3, Xbox 360 stuff I have never played...but honestly if I can find it on PC for free or just a few bucks i'll grab it there and leave my physical copy alone. Usually the graphics/framerate are better on the PC.
Awesome stuff as always buddy. I have been hearing latley about prices rising :( Also you got any retro stuff yet? HUH "Ignores you" hahaha , Give that man a raise lol. Untill dawn is fantastic buddy i loved it :D
I live in a similar sort of a mid-sized city. I'd say that pawn shops and thrift stores have almost entirely dried up as far as finding anything good, or especially for deals. I don't even bother anymore because it's not worth my time. I only bother with the second hand game/movie stores these days. I'm rarely finding deals there - usually it's around ebay prices give or take. However, they do have pretty good selection if you are willing to pay the market price for what you find. I've actually been picking up a lot of Xbox 360 games at these places lately, before the prices on these go up any more than they already have. I think I now have just about everything I realistically expect to collect for the console. Some of the Gamestops around here have actually been quite good too. Some of them have begun stocking retro games in store. While the selection is usually somewhat limited, their prices on these actually have been very reasonable for what they do have.
I don't mind paying retail if they are well stocked... but even that is hard to come by around here! None of our gamestops sell retro games... and strangely enough, we were the first state where they started BUYING retro stuff 🤣 Hope to see you tonight!
@@RNGGamerYT Interesting, I wonder if it is simply a matter of demand outstripping supply in your area? As far as Gamestop goes, in talking to a couple of the employees, it seems that only two locations in my area are labeled "retro", but even a number of the other stores are beginning to stock a few of the older games, but they aren't well advertised. For example, they might have a couple of PS3 games hidden at the bottom corner of the PS4 game display. I will definitely stop in tonight!
@@johnnyp2002qq My stores have a little xbox 360 and PS3 stuff. But I have friends that constantly send me pictures of their Gamestops stocking Gamecube, Saturn, N64 and all kinds of stuff. There is definitely more demand than supply in my area... no doubt about that. Thanks for stopping in!
@@RNGGamerYT yes it was crazy but I remember when my brother was 2 years old I remember he accidentally broke that disk from the Wii I was talking about I didn’t cry at all I was really calm the whole time in the afternoon!
@@RNGGamerYT Yeah, but sadly that means we don't really have physical game stores any more here. It's only really thrift stores and goodwill. Other than that, online retro game sites.
I love Okami! I played a demo of it when it was on the PS2 but never got round to buying it back then but to see it on the ps store I had to get it and it's great
You'd be really surprised. Tons of games only had a couple thousands units made. Only about 20% of the games produced for the 360 sold over a million copies
I've never seen Okami go for under 10 bucks. It's a great game, though, but I couldn't get into on the ps2 and want to try it out on the switch with the HD port
My comments are disappearing. They went up & now gone. I hope they got my comments on the original comments that was up for 1 sec each. I looked up the Japanese version of Resident Evil Code Veronica. It has difficulty settings Normal, Easy & Very Easy. You're playing the hardest version of this game.
There's a bug at youtube right now. A lot of comments are disappearing for people. They sent out a notification a week ago that they are working on it.... I freaking new it!!! There's no way it could be that difficult 🤣
@@RNGGamerYT You know how easy the game is on very easy lol. You get unlimited ink ribbons, so you don't have to worry about saving, your life meter is a lot you hardly die, Zombies taking 3 shots to die, as soon as you hit them with the knife they go down. You go to the 1st chest all the guns are available with ammo & a lot of sprays too.
I'm almost caught up on all of your videos. I'm within a month of current now. That said, there are no deals to be had. Even before the Xbox 360 started rising, flippers ruined everything local to me. FB Marketplace is awful, along with resellers trying to hide behind fake garage sales and photo baiting. It's sad as a collector because my collection was once solely $10 or less. The exceptions were games I REALLY wanted like a new Grand Theft Auto or something, games that were at least a really good deal, or PSVR. There are a million other rule breakers for me, but that's because I'm a rebel and can do what I want. It's easy to blame the resellers, but I guess we shouldn't also forget the stock piling collectors. In the end, I don't care what people choose to do, but what makes me sad are the rainy day merchants who don't really know what they are doing but they heard there's money to be made. They pay asking price +, they show up at 6am to garage sales, etc. In the end, they will end up sitting on stockpiles of games that they won't find buyers for until a child is helping them clean out their garage and finds these things in boxes all loaded with mouse turds and disc rot. I don't really have time to game hunt these days, so I just enjoy what I have and pick up what I see, but it's not as fun as it used to be to go out looking. I was never looking for great deals specifically, but it was nice to come across Xbox 360 games I didn't have and would rarely see. Thankfully I enjoyed years of ebay and have quite a collection, but the dreams of completing it for a reasonable price is pretty much dead now that games are hitting the hundreds mark.
Thanks for working through these videos! You'll have to let me know if I've gotten any better at them 🤣 I remember when the average cost of every game in my collection was $8. Those days are super gone... Luckily, just like you, I got most of it years ago. I'm mainly only buying things I want to play these days
@@RNGGamerYT You have for sure gotten better. For me, I think the appeal of your videos are most the short reviews of some of your backlog games and pick up videos. I always like random pickups because it helps remind me certain games exist.
We certainly don't help! But it's how a lot of people discover new games. Just like when Car and Track covered the Mazda CX-5 and it went from being a $24k crossover to a $35k crossover 🤣
It's ironic how RUclipsrs complain about game hunting being dried up yet they were the contributors in the first place. You might be a newer channel but it's still hilarious that most people don't think about the consequences of what exposure and greed does to collecting hobbies. HA HA!
It's not always greed. Some people are just trying to share their experiences with the things they love. I've been collecting for 15 years, but I've rarely flipped anything. I only take the stuff I want for the collection
Okami is a masterpiece from Clover! You can never convince me that the Wii controller is the best for that game! PS2 all the way! Wiimote is the worst controller ever! 🤣. Great video and happy hunting!
I have over 13,000 games and the majority of my games have been under $5 with many of them being .15, .25, and .49 cents. I remember when I was completing the Genesis in 2014 to 2016, every game I bought was $2 or under until I got to the last 176. Even with those most were $3.50 or under. The most I paid for any Genesis game was M.U.S.HA. $149, Crusader of Centy $136, and Zero $80. The rest were under $50 and most of the 176, as I stated were $3.50 or under. That was just a snapshot. From Zelda sealed for $5, Bucky O'Hare for $2.50 in the box, Harvest Moon (SNES, N64, GB) all sealed for $20 each, etc. Heck, I paid mostly $3 to $5 on Ebay for CD-i games. Today, even with having 44 complete console libraries I need games for the 360, P1, PS2, PS3 and very few if any games for older consoles. In all total, I think I need around 400 more games for everything from Magnavox Odyssey to the N64. There are deals out there. They just aren't easy to find. But they are there. If I paid $10 or over for every game I have, that would be $130,000. With every console I own (368 consoles), figures, plush, etc. I MIGHT come to $125,000.
Those are some crazy deals. I was looking for MUSHA back in 2008. It was over $100, then. You've found a ton of good deals. 13k games is one of the bigger collections I've heard about in a long time 😆 Congrats. Last time I checked, I think I'm at about $12 or so per game on average.
I love it so much!!! Thank you for noticing. I worked a long time and a lot of extra hours to afford it. My dad had a sub and he had to sell it. On his death bed, he said he regretted that he wasn't able to pass it on to me. So, this was a way of honoring my dad

I rely on cex quite a bit, I use cex and vinted
That mid-size city statement was so true here.... Crappy pawnshops, one terrible GameStop, and a goodwill is all I have to choose from. So I pretty much just bounce back and forth from eBay to Amazon for my retro games.
Same here!!! At least I have a convention in my state
I love how you said “holy crap” under your breath once you saw the price of that switch.
I was shocked!!! Absolutely shocked by their prices.
"They're killin' somethin.." 🤣 Bro, I just found your channel and I gotta say I really like your sense of humor and you just earned another new subsciber for your funny entertaining style. Keep it going man! 👍😎
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and I'm thrilled that I earned your subscription! You have plenty of content to dig through! 😅
@@RNGGamerYT Awesome thanks! 👍😁
You bet!
I live in a rural community and don't find a ton of games, but I have scored some awesome deals because of a lack of competition.
I found a $5 GBA SP at my pawn shop last week, and $1 xbox 360 games at the thrift store yesterday. Over $100 in value so not bad at all.
That's what I'm talking about!!! I'm so glad that you're still able to find the deals out there somewhere! 😄
Nobody is talking about how the games market got turboscrewed when crypto crashed and the hustlebro invest folks started treating retro games like bitcoin. Sad state of affairs.
I never thought about that.... it does seem like too much of a coincidence! 🤣
I just told one of my Students about retro games and he was absolutely clueless!! Then he started names games he still had from ps3 and 360 days.. he was shocked to know NCAA 14 was worth 400$ if someone truly wanted it😂😂
That's hilarious! A lot of my students are the same
Probably it's because I haven't searched enough but here in Austin it seems there is a similar issue with lack of good games in pawn shops and Goodwill stores. There are some independent retro stores but deals are hard to come by. Good luck!
Thanks! Good luck to you as well 😁
The way I spit out my coffee when you were talking about the game stop employee 😂😂😂
I'm glad I could make you laugh! That guy was so rude... I was shocked 🤣
I miss going to stores and looking at the big box pc games :(
Nothing feels quite like it!
Online console stores closing sees that trend where its physical games see a spike , we saw that briefly with the ps3 when sony announced the closing of its online front, now with the xbox 360. Am i missing something with the wii? Whats the reason for the assumption that thier prices will hike? Its online store closed awhile ago
The Wii will get there. It just has a higher amount of shovelware slowing it down! 😆
I think I heard something about that!!! I have a feeling something like that is going to happen here
Which gaming outlet?
@@laurigardner6227 it was Game in the UK
@@RNGGamerYT a massive part of their buisness was preowned half the store was dedicated to it , makes no sense
Thanks for watching! Sounds like you have a good store near you. I'm envious 🤣
That's pretty much what my area looks like, purely from how many resellers there are. Pot calling the kettle black sure, but I want some games for myself every now and then.
Haha! How's the reselling going? I bet you're cleaning up 😆
Dude I feel you!.
Congrats on the deals!
@@RNGGamerYT sorry I probably worded that weird. We picked Until Dawn Rush of Blood.
I love Gabriel Knight series. First one is my favorite, but all three are good. I bought them back in the day, but I threw boxes out, because they took too much space. My biggest regret was getting rid of Moonstone box for Amiga. That game goes for a lot these days.
I bet Moonstone is a heavy hitterfor sure!
I want to play the Gabriel Knight games... I've never been lucky enough to have the chance
Okami is such a great game! And while i understand why it would be called a Zelda clone, they're just based on the same (basic) Japanese mythology. Both are great!
They share the same gameplay loop as well. Explore an area until you find an item or skill that allows you to beat it.
LOVE the mixing of game hunting and game recommendations. This was rad!
Thanks, brother! I stole the idea directly from you....
No wonder you like it 😆
@@RNGGamerYTYou pulled it off well!
@MortsGarage thanks! I need all the advice and help I can get!
I'm looking forward to sending you my content review
Such an AWESOME video. Really well done man and super fun. I’m headed out hunting for some $10 games today! Fingers crossed!
Good luck, brother!!! I wish you all the best of luck 🤣
Hard to find good deals in the wild. Where I live the largest chain of 'pawn shops' in the country all post most of their stuff online. I find deals getting in quick online.
That's a bummer! We have a few chain pawnshops down here. But, I hardly ever check them
Americans raided the Japanese retro market, bought games cheap and flip them on eBay for 10x the price, they've done it here too.
Yup!!! You're exactly right.
It's a positive feedback loop on behalf of the sellers. But it always happens with anything.
I just miss the hunt 😅
The artificial bubble still hasn't fully burst either. The scam of unopened retro game auction house (WATA - checkout the Karl Jobst video if you need a good investigative reporter breaking it down) ruined the pricing of all retro games by creating a tulip market. Point is, a lot of folks are still riding that train & prices are still inflated artificially by speculators. The market will normalize at some point, as it always does - supply & demand always wins.
Fatal Inertia for 360 was in my eBay cart for $13 back in March. CRAZY to see it’s $200 now
I skipped out on that one dozens of times myself.... 🤣
I bought the game new in holiday 2007 and it was a terrible arcade racer that didn’t sell many copies.
@manygatos885 I never bothered to get it... I'm still not sure if I was lucky... or unlucky 🤣
I am glad I live in the area where it’s not really picked over but I didn’t know the day you look hard enough you will find it
I wish I could visit your area and pick it over 😆
So glad I'm done with all that driving around looking for games, been there done that. I just don't have time for it, getting old, I’ll continue to play what I already have.
I'm getting to that same point! I'm more excited about playing the games anyway 😄
If it's any consolation I did find two copies of wet for $15 each complete a copy of bullet witch for $15 and a copy of venetica for the 360 for 5$. Hard to find good deals nowadays
Those are steals!!! Congrats on finding some good deals. I'm glad someone is 🤣
Goodwills, salvation army, 2nd avenues are all good places. My wife works at one they sold and entire sega saturn with a stack of games for 80
All the goodwills in my town list all media on their shopgoodwill online auction house! That's an awesome deal someone got on those saturn games
@@RNGGamerYT Goodwill on ebay is schizophrenic as well. You'll find a game for $5 and it's worth $50... and then another worse condition of that exact same game listed at $50. The only goodwill they have remaining is guaranteed uncertainty.
I rarely go game hunting in my own city. I always go out of town to go to my favrotie game stores for game hunting
That's what I'm going to have to do!
@RNGGamerYT I'm actually going game hunting later today. I'm trading away a nice chunk of my collection to try and get a Holy grail game on the ps2 and some vita games. I'll have a video on it later if wanna see if I have any success
All Halo games on the og xbox & 360 are 0.50-1.00£ in the UK, it's crazy to see these prices!
I think she's right 🤣
Your wife is wise... but you're right 😆
I have that Toaplan collection. It's sweet, but now mine is too valuable to open 😅
@@RNGGamerYT I was happy to see the shop had already opened the collector's box to check the carts. That keeps me from worrying about losing value. I bought the games to play 🤣
I already have Hellfire and Truxton CIB and absolutely love those games, but I haven't seen a Genesis Fireshark or Zero Wing in the wild.
Garage sales and auctions are the only place I ever find good gaming deals.
Also, closest Costco is over 3 hours away, so no $1.50 Hot Dogs for me. 😢
What kind of auctions are you going to? I'd love to learn more about these 😆
It's probably better that you don't have a Costco nearby.
Then they cart off the whole estate to their countless antique and thrift stores they own
@@RNGGamerYT wow, what a load of crap.
@AndrewsClayCreations I thought it was like that everywhere!?! 🤣
Pawn shop today, dude sold me King of Fighters XIII on Xbox 360 for…you guessed it $10. No manual, box was in nice shape, great deal. The shelves in your pawn shops look like mine most of the time.
I'm surprised you found anything at all! I also found KoF Xiii at a pawn shop.... years ago 🤣
I cut out the rest 🤣
I feel a lot of nostalgia even for the newer systems.
Man when you come to my neck of the woods imma show you a badass game hunting experience!
I'll make sure I get up there soon!
I live in Brooklyn…you ain’t getting a lot of deals here. Granted we have some great retro game stores in NYC. You’ll find some rare stuff on shelves but they’re all pretty much priced exactly at price charting value, maybe plus a surcharge to cover rent.
I watched a video of a guy touring video games stores in NYC. It was insane... and exorbitant 😅
Still, it would be fun to explore them
They still sell and produce PS1 and PS2 games on their website.... other companies COULD do it as well. But it may not be feasible
It’s coming to a time where we are going to see physical go away and prices are going to keep soaring in price.
I think there will be physical games for years to come, but they will be made by indie manufacturers. Yes... they will be expensive 🤣
Or take from me in person 🤣
Lauri, I really appreciate all your support of my channel!
I remember my siblings cousins and me playing plants vs zombies on the ps3 it’s allot harder than it looks I remember playing it on my mom’s old iPad when I was like 6
It really is a lot tougher than it looks! But it's still a lot of fun!
Drive 20 minutes north of town. Nice little selection at Gamer Geeks. The struggle around here is real though.
I've been to gamer geeks! It's pretty decent!
Loved this video man, I have been binge watching allot of your stuff these past couple of weeks. Good stuff.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I really appreciate you going back and watching those old videos. That helps a lot 😄
I haven’t been in GameStop in a really long time last time I was in there is when I was like 7 or 8
That was probably the last time they had anything good for sale 🤣

you are funny as fuck, i dont know if people tell you that enough! I really enjoy watching your videos, good job brother

Honestly, people don't tell me that too much 🤣
Challenge accepted! haha Plants Vs. Zombies and Peggle are an awesome choice! Two of my favorites. Okami as well. Such a great game although I have never played the Wii version. Great video as always!
Thanks, brother! I can't wait to see what you come up with
I'm going to be honest an I love supporting local stores...BUT...The fact that they have overhead is no excuse to price games above market value.
I asked "why people should drive to the store, pay more than eBay and drive home." In addition "If the game is defective I have to drive back to the store, get a replacement game OR trade credit and then drive back home."
He said...and I quote...
This is why modding consoles is so very important.
Even though I use all original hardware, I agree with you 100%.
I got into collecting early. Not everyone can be as lucky as me
Prices are ridiculous anymore. I might start looking for wii deals. Only played that system a hand full of times. I need some of those dragon quest games for ds. If that dude reads this. Lol. Another great video man!! Keep it up!
Wii might be the way to go.... but there are so, so many bad games on the system. Very few are worth playing
Just play The Mario game on it & Punch out.
I totally get it! The convenience is really high on the PC
Game hunting has definitely become a labor of patience. And I don’t think it’s going to get any better.
It's only going to get worse. But I bet a lot of the collectors that aren't super committed will eventually give up, so it'll bounce back a bit 😅
Sorry I didn't have anything at the pawn shop to offer you.
No worries, brother!!! Meeting you was the best part of the day.

None of our gamestops sell retro games... and strangely enough, we were the first state where they started BUYING retro stuff 🤣
Hope to see you tonight!

Only about 20% of the games produced for the 360 sold over a million copies

I freaking new it!!! There's no way it could be that difficult 🤣
@@RNGGamerYT You know how easy the game is on very easy lol. You get unlimited ink ribbons, so you don't have to worry about saving, your life meter is a lot you hardly die, Zombies taking 3 shots to die, as soon as you hit them with the knife they go down. You go to the 1st chest all the guns are available with ammo & a lot of sprays too.
I can’t stand it when folks say game hunting is dead and then pass up all the games 😅
I already have them, though!!! 😅
Pretty sure their games went up in price because of backwards compatibility. Where as ps3 stuff you need a ps3 to play or do ps plus premium
You make an excellent point!!!
A doctor who makes deals with the devil to save patients lives? Wow, how is that not a movie!?
Surely, someone had made that movie!?!
If not, get to writing the screenplay 😅
@@RNGGamerYT reminds me of "hellraiser", what a cool idea for a game. Thanks for the upload! Until next Saturday! ✌️
@jake90052 thanks! Sadly, trauma center is absent of any cenobytes
@@RNGGamerYT haha 😂
You'll have to let me know if I've gotten any better at them 🤣
I remember when the average cost of every game in my collection was $8.
Its good to know salvation army still doesn't have anything
...did they ever? 🤣
Damn Yakuza Infinite wealth was cheaper than on the last steam sale lmao
Online prices seem to be all over the place!!! They are either $2 or like $70
Casually rockin the Rolex Sub? Are you a watch guy too? 😅
Haha... I can't believe you noticed.
Yeah, a little bit 😄
I remember my 2nd sister played that donkey Kong game she’s pretty good at it she made pretty good progress!
I wish my siblings had played video games... your sister sounds awesome
@@RNGGamerYT well she is slower than me in games my entire family are slower than me they barely land hits on me
i think retro youtubers and flippers are a big reason as to why retro games prices have skyrocketed.
Find a game under 10 bucks that's NOT a 5 yr old copy of Madden?
Not in my little town, except some crap Wii waggle games.
You can get my recommendations off ebay for under $10
It's hard out there! Thanks so much for watching and supporting the channel!
Okami is a masterpiece from Clover! You can never convince me that the Wii controller is the best for that game! PS2 all the way! Wiimote is the worst controller ever! 🤣. Great video and happy hunting!
I'm telling you! It's the way to go! 🤣
I was linked but couldn't see it so I guess I'm a new channel member lol
Welcome to the jungle.... uh... Sammy, you're gonna.....fly? 🙃
Emulation is the best way to stick it to the scalpers!
But then you can't have a room full of games 🤣
No but I have a 1up arcade with 30,000 games 😆 😂 🤣
I have something similar 🤣
I love this channel, great content!
I really appreciate it! I love making content for everyone
I haven’t heard paper Mario in a long time
They are remaking it for the Switch this year!
@@RNGGamerYT they are? I didn’t know that
We can blame VGA for this
They definitely didn't help!
Last time I heard about it is when I was like 11
Really!?! That was the latest time anyone heard about it 🤣
@@RNGGamerYT I figured it was!
You should have swung by and picked me up.
I filmed all of that in about 90 minutes! But, I'll be sure to do the next one with you 😁
That Starbucks on your wrist caught my eye.
I love it so much!!! Thank you for noticing. I worked a long time and a lot of extra hours to afford it. My dad had a sub and he had to sell it. On his death bed, he said he regretted that he wasn't able to pass it on to me.
So, this was a way of honoring my dad
@@RNGGamerYT thanks for sharing that very touching story.
I'm glad you appreciated it. It means a lot to me
How much are Xbox 360 games in the USA anyways? They are still cheap over in the UK.
Some are getting up to the several hundred dollar mark!
@@RNGGamerYT No way, great video I found it very insightful.
@ffviifakeremake9997 I really appreciate that! I'm glad you were able to learn something. There's going to be a follow-up video this Saturday
I saw your Halo video 2 months ago. Turn off your auto updates on your xbox one and Master chief collection won't update all the extra bs. Peace brother.
Thanks! I appreciate you watching that video. I'll make sure I turn it off for Halo 2 🤣
RNG Picker channel??!?!?
I needed to do something different!!! It was time to finally go outside 🤣
