Wow. I am no stranger to virtualization, but I was looking for a proper way to explain hypervisors and you have talent in explaining! Voice, tempo, volume, presentation, quality. Everything is perfect!!! I love it.
@Darnell Baird they do mirror it, if you look at other IBM videos you see that they more often have the pen on the left due to the video being mirrored. This woman in this video is simply just lefthanded
i've mulled over several articles and watch so many videos to try and grasps these concepts but this is the only one that has made sense. THANK YOU!!!!!!
Great job explaining what a Virtual Machine is, as it was invented by IBM for it's Mainframes. One of the founders of Vmware was a past IBM software engineer, I met him at a Vmware event where he was one of the event speakers, and he commented on my IBM jacket. I worked for IBM Global Services 1996 -1998 in the server group, and worked for Symantec 2007-2009 and we had about 1000 Virtual Machines on Vmware ESXi 3.52, we used Vmware Vmotion to move VM's to another ESXi Server but it took a lot of CPU power to do so.
Today for the SNA exam of my BIT degree last semester, it asked about the "bare-metal" hypervisor. Yesterday I watched this video and got fully aware of that. So today I was able to completely answer the Virtualization question of the SNA paper. Thank you so much ma'am for this video♥
Liked your explanation on how you can easily move VMs from one hypervisor to another irrespective which host the hypervisor is on. The illustration of this action was very clear.
EXCELLENT! I think you have done a Wonderfull Job explaining this CONCEPT. I am 70 years old and not brought up in the Computer Generation, However, with with someone like yourself whom can explain these technologies in an understandable way, it becomes a usefull tool. Thank You.
Thank you so much! I was trying to know more about the Enhanced Networking feature of EC2 in AWS, and I had to understand what is Virtualization. In less than 3 minutes, I have understand what is virtualization, what makes it possible, and in which layer it can operates. All of this explained with simple words. Congrats!
You're incredible! So well explained that it just seems intuitive. Keep up the great work - THIS is by far the best explanation of a VM and a hypervisor. The diagrams were amazing to help visualize the concept - fabulous job! You're a champ - Great class and great teacher with Beautiful Voice ❤
Hi Brad...I'll let you in on a secret, he's not writing backwards. Here's a post explaining it with a photo Here's a post we wrote to explain how these videos are created. ruclips.net/channel/UCKWaEZ-_VweaEx1j62do_vQcommunity?lb=Ugzf5SL_yh9NglCJzgF4AaABCQ
Thank you so much for these tutorials. I have a new role that has me speaking to engineering professionals, and this a great way to understand vocabulary needed to navigate through a project discussion. Thank you!!
Thank you so much for this video! I've been confused for hours now and I have to submit an essay about it today. Very well-explained, I understand it now. Thank you again!
Hypervisor is what allows a virtual machine run. Virtual machine is an app where we can run multiple operating systems in same computer or different computers
She is standing in front of the clear glass and writing normally. We are seeing the mirror image of the video. Thought I should say this because I know some people might be wondering if there is some sort of sorcery is in action. :)
I have two questions. can you explain? 1. how you can setup different OSs instantaneously. Like if the hypervisor stays on top of bare metal, does it contain all the footprints of different OSs to provision at run time? 2. If you got only a single core CPU how can it can run multiple VMs. Is it something like time division multiplexing?

Your backwards penmanship is better than my regular writing anyday. TY for the wonderful content.
she writes it like normal & they just mirror the footage in post production.
@@lugardo by
If they actually mirrored it, that means that she is left handed. Rare but plausible.
@@darnellbaird206 I’m lefthanded and I read this comment. BOOM.
@Darnell Baird they do mirror it, if you look at other IBM videos you see that they more often have the pen on the left due to the video being mirrored.

I've watched 20+ videos and THIS is by far the best explanation of a VM and a hypervisor. The diagrams were amazing to help visualize the concept!!
yesss i agree
i've mulled over several articles and watch so many videos to try and grasps these concepts but this is the only one that has made sense. THANK YOU!!!!!!
You are welcome. Thanks for watching. -Alex
I feel the same. Good job IBM Cloud!
she is writing in mirror image , that is more incredible than the Topic
Thinking out loud, could they have written normally and then flipped the video horizontally?
My spatial skills need a boost😅
Maybe they flipped it on the backend? Does not seem like a good use of brain power doing reverse writing.
Maybe she is just left-handed, write normally and flip the video post-recording.
😂😂😂
That is actually distraction.
Love the black background. Thanks for reducing energy consumption.

I have watched the video in another website, but I came here to watch it in RUclips to give a LIKE and SUBSCRIBE because you deserve it.
You are a left handed person as well as a good instructor. Thank you for the explanation.
0:28 HYPERVISOR makes VIRTUALIZATION feasible
2:50 HYPERVISOR manages the resources that are allocated to VMs from the physical server.
You're incredible! So well explained that it just seems intuitive. Keep up the great work!
Not only does she need to have the capacity to explain everything, but also to write everything backwards! ;)

One of the best explanation of Virtualization and Hypervisor. Great Job !
As someone studying for A cloud security cert. This helped me understand Cloud infrastructure a lot more. Thanks for the video!

This is beautifully done. Thank you so much for such a quality materail!
The fact you write backwards so smooth and fast is awesome.
Well actually, we don't write backward. Here is a blog post we wrote that explains how we do it. ➞ ibm.co/2LTPMjo

this is soo great! I leaned more here than in my lecture lol
This channel is fantastic, with short clips but loaded with complete information. Great work
A IBM channel? Great! Nice explanantion
I have a question.
How the heck does she write backwards? 😀
Hi Ritchie: Check this post out for an explanation of how we make these: ibm.co/2SA1vGd
@@IBMTechnology hahahaha makes sense - horizontal flip.very Clever
Same question here. I'am thinking about 10 minutes how IBM did that. But every solution that comes to mind makes no sense... 👀
hahaha I had to watch the video 2X. The first one I was just trying to figure out how she did it to write backwards.
is she left handed?
how many lefties are there at IBM???
IBM videos are best for getting a great overview - Simple, Short and well explained
This is so well-done that it's actually a bit mind-blowing.
Good good, congrats u kept it simple and straightforward..
Thanks for the appreciation, Peerullah! 👍
Superbly explained. each word she said is important.
Thanks a lot! You have such an incredible talent of explaining and making such a complex concept super easy to comprehend and in no time. Great job!

Thank you for explaining to me virtualization in the most simple terms.
this is so well explained way of presentation, she is good and IBM.
The explanation of Virtualisation is concise & informative. Thank you Kaleigh

I absolutely love these lightboard presentations!

Such a nice explanation i have ever seen on virtualization hope to see more content on this in future
Immensely impressive. Thank you.
I wish my instructor would explain like how she explained in a simple , detailed and straight-forward instead of reading from the textbook. Well done!

This is a good introduction mainly oriented to Server/Client, and you don't speak about the difference between type1 and type2 in term of performance.
Excellent presentation and explanation of the topic. Great job and thanks for sharing.
Wonderful! Well explained. Easy to understand the Virtualization concept!
