I really appreciate you sharing your love of the blues and talent in such a clear and easy to understand way I still remember hearing a Junior Wells record at 16 and having the hairs on my next tingle Many thanks
Håkan is wearing a derby hat, while Heisenberg wore a Pork Pie Hat (as did Fozzie bear). Just as in music, there is value in paying attention to the details!!
im very happy to have found this guy. ive searched all youtube and this guy ROCKS. best teacher of the harp EVER. i bought my special20 marine band in Eb, had it in december, now im playin da bloooooz. keep it up its wicked
Thanks a lot for that video! This riffs are most people main reason to start enjoying harmonica, and you make it very easy! Of course I'm way far from playing it well, but just by sounding alike is already something to cheer you up and keep you going, because diatonic harmonica is something indeed very frustrating to learn!
I have just ordered my first harmonica and this will be the first thing I try. Very well explained. Wish me luck, I'm 59 - lol Thank you and keep up the good work.
Thanks Hakan, you are a real inspiration. I don't think everybody is as passionate about my play as I am, but I'm getting there. Hopefully..............., some day...
Hi Hakan Man, you have 1200+ likes and mine has just been added. For an absolute beginner you have just made the journey a lot easier and more fun! Thanks
your very easy to follow, thank. just subscribed. very patient and step by step. I'm a newbie. I look forward to viewing all your vids. only one for now. don't let me down.peace.
Before you said breathe out i thought of using words in the spaces. You are an excellent, and soft spoken teacher. I have not yet looked but hope that you completed this lesson I.E., Expert Version. Ha. I picked up my harmonica seriously for the first time today and started walking. . . I finished with 24638 steps (according to SHealth), alot of pictures of the sunset, and a lot of fun. The first time I successfully hit each note individually in tandem, I had to stop walking and catch my breathe. When I began my journey I knew I'd figure something out on it, as a tune was already cooking in my head. I never did, nor can remember the tune I began with. However I have the tune from the smokey the bear, only you can prevent wildfire, pinpointed. Nearing the end of my journey, I was guided to type Chicago Blues into google. . . Thus, I am here, going to learn from you, and will be checking out more of your channel shortly. Oh yeah - A few houses down the street behind my direction, I heard a newly familiar sound of the 10th hole being blown into. . . I tried to reply and misfired half my shot into 9. . .10b again. . . this time i nailed 10b & attempted the smokey the bear tune which is a set of notes falling inbetween 6-10. Scrambled it. Then I drew from the entire left side of my BluesBand HOHNER INTERNATIONAL C Harmonica. Once long. Then longest. Because it sounds like a train! There was no reply. My bet's that won't be the last i hear from them. Enjoy Your Days, My Friend.
Thanks! First riff for me... got my harp 2 days, and this was the first vid I could figure out. Really useful... Even did a little of my own with some bending (2b,3b,2b,3d,2b)... thanks again.
You are fantastic. What a great teacher, please can we have more lessons. I'm having lots of trouble with half decent sound from 2 draw and 1-2 draw. Sounds nothing like yours very airy. If I could sound half as good as you I'd be a very happy man. Love your work. Keep em coming
Really thanks for your movies and the times you take to make them. I've got an harmonica since many years, but i've got really started few month ago (before that i doesn't use any "bend" ;) Thank your really much from France's pays to share your passion !
You do some of the best videos for harmonica, and I enjoy them very much. I always learn something when I watch you; thank you for mentioning breathing, I had been having problems with that. Very cool riff, I had never heard this song before today, thanks for playing it.
Maravilloso!, You're an amazing teacher, i just bought today a Hohner Puck and this is like the fifth tutorial i've seen and is really for begginners, very well explained and even with the diferences of harps is helpful Suscrito!
💯%🔥‼️ thanks so much. Went through a bunch of vids til I got this easy tutorial. I just wanted to learn part of this for a video I’m making. But the Harmonica is BadAss🤘. I will tag you & credit. thanks
Thank you very much for this video. I am just learning to play, and I've been getting frustrated by how terrible I am, but thanks to your video I can now say I've actually learned something. Maybe there's hope for me yet. :-)
In the original Mannish Boy, Little Walter played the harp. Little Walter is the reason i started playing Harmonica. But thanks for a really good lesson man! :)
Very nice! I just ordered a Voggenreiter MH-01 harmonica ( C ), it is a very cheap harmonica but do you think that a cheap harmonica will be any problem for simple blues songs for a beginner like me? Cheers from Belgium :D
thanks man last weekend whe had a party you was on a big screen boogiee chillen i like it like it allot last mond i buy a blues harp hohner d and becaus off you i can play manishboy thank you very muchh
Greetings your very good I'm a beginner your lessons inspired me There is a song that I love I was wondering if you can take the harmonica notes from that song I will really appreciate Thank you
yes it may be easier to just blow the 3 hole, but you can really "punch" the 2 draw. plus it easier to transition to the 2 draw half step bend or whole step bend. in my opinion it just sounds better. good luck! i started playing maybe 2 years ago and i wondered the same thing.
You can still play the same notes, the key is different but the riff is the same. In all honesty there is a bit of difference between keys and ease of playability so you might want to get a C harp so that you can play the notes on the low end of the scale easier. I would recommend getting a Lee Oskar, or a Special 20 in C to learn with, both are good harps for a reasonable price. Hang onto your A harp, and keep using it. Another harp in D would be a good purchase later on. Good luck.
2020 im here going to learn new skills. Its ageless video.
Thank you!
My thoughts exactly, Hrabia! This time I am going to learn this! Tack så mycket, Håkan!

peace !
I only have a blues hard in D, should I buy another one in C? Seems like the most popular choice out there..
C is a must!
Nicely done. Thanks for the quick lesson
Hi mate,
Tnx for the easy explaining.
Where can i find the rest of the lessons?
Greetz John
You can still play the same notes, the key is different but the riff is the same.
In all honesty there is a bit of difference between keys and ease of playability so you might want to get a C harp so that you can play the notes on the low end of the scale easier. I would recommend getting a Lee Oskar, or a Special 20 in C to learn with, both are good harps for a reasonable price.
Hang onto your A harp, and keep using it. Another harp in D would be a good purchase later on.
Good luck.
Very good lesson! Thank you for posting this!
Hi! wonderful video!!!
I have an harmonica in C, how can i play Mannish boy in D???
Thank you!
Hey Håkan tack for detta. Du gör det enkel så jag kan faktist följer med. Skit bra !
@transtremm
Thank you. I love very distinctive riffs like this one. But I don't think Rollin Tumblin riff is very obvious for harmonica.
Great tutorial. Thanks
Vous êtes excellent👍🏻😍
Most excellent .. thanks much !!!
Awesome! Could you teach how you did the solo in the middle of your performance video.
This is a great lesson thank you.
Is there any chance you could do a lesson on, "Rollin' and Tumblin'"?
Thanks for your help ....
You are welcome!
perfect explaination !! thank you man , you inspired me !! :D
Thanks, buddy! Can I play Mannish Boy if I only have a harp in the key of C. I’m just learning to play and have only one harp. Thanks again!
C is good!
