Barenboim has so much grace and poise when playing Mozart pieces; all the notes flow so easily and the keys are pressed with just the right amount of pressure. I tend to have a problem approaching the Mozart pieces I try to learn with a sort of Beethoven mindset - my crescendos and accents are always a bit too dramatic, whereas Barenboim's are elegant, while still delivering the impact Mozart intended. Well, he is a world-famous pianist for a reason. :)
I have the same problem, first real classical songs I learned where from "First lessons in Bach" after this it's easy to play everything with a Bach approach.. when playing Mozart I feel it should express alot of hope and joy in the melody. One simple tip that doesn't solve the problem but certainly is fundamental to it, just relax yourself and put yourself to the emotion you feel it should express :) Goodluck with your piano studies and keep practicing daily ^^
