@My beautiful and amazing Princess lmao I get your point, there were a few flaws in it, but basically windows 10 but in beta form. Well, sometimes we take things for granted and someday we will (probably not) miss windows 8.

I signed up for the Windows 7 House Party back in the day! Used 9 of my alternate email addresses as "guests" (since they required you provide email addresses for every guest, and you needed at least 10 people to qualify for it.)
Still use the one remaining intact reusable shopping bag (calling it a "tote bag" is a bit of a stretch) and deck of cards. The decorations are long gone (I probably should have saved them,) but my cheap cardboard clapboard contained Win7 Ultimate copy is still the copy that is the "upgrade source" for my current Win10 install.
That is frickin' awesome that you still have/found a (somewhat) complete boxed copy of it!

I have a Windows 7 House Party pack from back in the day too! I opened it, took a few pictures, then put it in storage. Still have everything in it!

Windows 7 will always be one of my favorite OSes to use. Never once had a problem with it and I loved using the Classic Windows theme it had. Too bad Microsoft got rid of it.

Hey, I'm in the video, yay! I should've probably made it better, but I made it just before heading to work, so I didn't have that much time on my hands. Thank you Ken and the Computer Clan for making such awesome content. And, since I should say anything good about Windows 7, it was a great OS that will be missed, and that we should look into whenever we talk about computers.
Remember pre-ordering Windows 7, it was a mighty fine upgrade and served me reliably for many years, good times!
Definitely up there as one of the best releases of Windows.

My company are working through installing windows 10 because they still using Windows 7. Yes I am enjoying Linode and thanks for the code. Seems to run faster and the docs are very detailed and helpful.
The "signed" copy of Ultimate was the only reason anyone ever applied for one of these lol.
We reached a point in time where we can't believe that we lived such an admirable decade with Windows 7 💕.

When I was younger my family managed to buy computers with Vista and 8. Never had 7 as a daily driver.

I remember windows 7 I was using it when I was like 6 it was on my moms laptop which was an Packard bell with an intel atom n270 it was running windows 7 starter and was slow I was downloading cracked games on it and had so much viruses and the games runed at like 4 fps lol

I was one of the original hosts for these Win7 launch parties! It was super corny and me and my friends had a blast with it. 18:49 I always had this frustrating issue installing Windows 7 updates in the last couple of years. You literally have to install some, reboot, install some more, reboot again and this process takes ages as there's like 300 updates for Windows 7 since it launched. Fun times!

Ah... Windows 7 looks still beautiful today. Everything from boot screen to Aero UI. No stupid bugs, lags ads, bloatware(except for OEM ones).

The original version of Windows 7 ended on Apr 9, 2013 and must be updated to Windows 7 with Service Pack 1.
Also, to be clear, the party box did *NOT* include Windows 7 Home anything in a normal retail package.
It included a thin cardboard folder containing "Windows 7 Ultimate Signature Edition" - (search for that and you'll find pictures.)
Anonymous Freak what do you mean by ‘cardboard folder’? I’ve seen it as a box, but is it like... a fake box? I showed the Signature Edition box photo in this video.
@@ComputerClan It's not a box. It's super thin, just basically a piece of cardboard folded over, pee-chee style.

The other silly thing - it came with both 32-bit and 64-bit discs, but only the 32-bit disc was inside the folio/holder. The 64-bit disc was in a plain white CD envelope!

I worked with a Microsoft 'evangelist' or whatever they called them then and he got a party pack with balloons and everything for the original 'launch party'. It was so lame.
You must not have been meme-ing hard enough, could have marathon'd the Mac Vs PC Commercials, had a digital picture frame set up to cycle through Vista memes, play some Andrew WK in the background, the Windows Error Remix, there are so many ways to have a great Windows themed party...
I find the idea of a launch party to be hilarious and convenient, having 10 people to troubleshoot together would ensure the highest rate of success. Vista was still a joke, so having a Lan party to celebrate the end would be fun in that regard. I'm kind of disappointed they did not do it for Windows 10. Although having W10 be a "free upgrade" doesn't exactly create the extra revenue to send out free party kits to people, then of course upgrading from 7 to 10, it just kind of upgraded when it was good and ready.

Aero snap and Aero shake aren't the only great improvements in Windows 7. There is also Reliability History, Reliability Monitor, Family Safety and System Image backup to name a few.

It was a great operating system and to this day paved the road for windows ten. True windows 98 brought the start menu but windows 7 made it iconic.

Despite my main computer running on 10 at this point (mostly for compatibility reasons) I still regularly use my 7 machine for a lot of games and audio stuff.
It's not because I don't like change but personally 7 just feels better to use.
Either way, I won't let go of my installation of 7 any time soon. It may have reached it's EOL but it's not dead yet! #LongLiveWindows7

OMG this just came up on my timeline. I HAD one of those parties and I still have my box of goodies. I never used the napkins or the playing cards but I did have a full on party with a marquee and a computer for people to try it out. It was a brilliant day and I remember it well. I am in the UK. I loved Windows 7. The best iteration of Windows ever. Thanks for taking me back to a great memory. 👍
