- Here is a small hauler in the county that has not recieved much attention on RUclips. Their largest stop base is in the city of Pasadena, while other cities such as Montebello, El Monte, and Monrovia still have a few stops. Out of their small front loader fleet, this compilation features three of their coolest trucks:
Volvo WX-42 Able Body Sales Square Body FL, WhiteGMC Amrep Octagonal, and a CNG Mack LEU ABS Square Body. All three of these trucks are seen doing commercial stops in the City of Pasadena this past summer.
Not shown in this video are their Autocar WXLL Amrep and their Ex-ABQ Volvo Amrep FL.

All three trucks were really fun to watch. They’re all pretty quick and the drivers definitely know what they’re doing. Personally I always think these videos are pretty cool for a number of reasons. The trucks are way different than anything we have out here. Unfortunately trucks don’t last terribly long out here with the road salt in the winter eating them up. These smaller body manufacturers are pretty much unheard of here with McNeilus right down the road. Plus, the downtown atmosphere is really cool, unlike suburbia here. Great work, I really appreciate the effort that went into this one (and sorry I’m late per usual).

solid upload, I'm just ecstatic you guys in socal are going to town on the commercial haulers, especially with the classics. I've got to say that WRS is probably the most underappreciated hauler in LA, especially as far as videos go. as if it's not cool enough for them to have Amrep restore a square body FL, I never kept good tabs on the other trucks they were running in the FL sector. that Octo looks particularly oldschool at like 5:10, and I'd agree with those who liked it most. terrific job, thanks to the drivers too. I guess they were pretty accommodating? I would prioritize Pasadena commercial hunting for a vacation back in CA some day..
Very happy you found this video! Underappreciated is an understatement... it seems nobody really films them since their trucks are actually quite hard to find... despite their bright color. Plus none of the guys down here really travel to the neck of the woods where they service. The Octo was a personal favorite of mine and I still am on the look out to this day for their ex-ABQ one - but I doubt it ever leaves the yard nowadays. All the drivers I met were tolerable, the guys on the LEU were the coolest. Hopefully we'll see you in CA again soon, the cool stuff is disappearing fast!
I am so grateful that you got footage of that Volvo Able Body. I regret that I was not able to get footage of that truck, and I was afraid that it was gone. But here it is and now preserved forever, thanks to you! Now GO GET LIBERTY DISPOSAL IN TORRANCE!!!
Great video! This company has a lot of cool trucks, and their signboards look awesome. I liked the clip where you could see WRS and Athens driving off, something LA franchising ruined. I like their custom able body or what ever that is Front Loader lol.

Good stuff! Always enjoy watching old FLs in action. As expected, WRS's drivers are all fast. That ABS FL is so cool. Glad to finally see it in action. Would love to see that truck unload. One of the few trucks left in SoCal with barn doors lol The Amrep is great. Only recently realized that they had both an ex-ABQ one as well as the one you found. And the Mack... one of my favorite trucks on the road. As a Mack fan, I'm very happy that many local haulers bought a few Macks here and there for a short time. Glad to see the LEU live on for a few more years through WRS. And Mark seems to like Mack considering he just bought that new LR. Awesome compilation, hopefully on one of our next Montebello trips, we can swing by WRS and see more of their trucks!
Thanks Aaron! That's exactly what I was thinking must be strange being the only driver to have to open the rear doors like that. Glad you liked the Mack, that seems to be a favorite of many people. Strange I haven't yet seen their LR on the freeway or anything, considering how much I've been traveling out in that direction lately. That sounds like a good plan!
Neat video! Very entertaining to see the drivers operate the trucks so well.They seem to have some heavy stops. Did they have any accounts in LA? Does it all go to MRF or do they have separate recycling services?
zp12684 thank you! They sure do. No accounts in city limits, but plenty in county. They dump at Puente Hills MRF where everything is sorted
Damn truck #2 was probably my favorite, the grumble it had along with the whine was just a perfect mix. The Mack was probably my 2nd favorite truck, only because the refurb it was given, but that was way back lol. Its pretty cool that WRS has a majority of Pasedena, i hope you can return soon and get more great footage! Great post!

Nice video man! Great to see more of this company. They actually have one stop in the city of La Habra, don't know how or why they got it though. Some places, mostly schools, in La Habra don't have CR&R for commercial waste collection. Those stops have either UWS, Athens, Ware, or Republic Services.

I haven’t seen the truck they use but I’m thinking it’s the Mack LEU ABS.
