I attended boarding school at the then Prince of Wales School in Nairobi in the 70s and we used to have periodic fire drills. Hao wazungu walikuwa very proactive. Nini kibaya na sisi Waafrika?

It's very sad and heart breaking to watch even to imagine how those families are going through
Kaka, this tradegy is so painful, may God comfort parents and families and heal the loss.....there is something very deep in the fundamentals of our nation that does not add up any more, the case of Hillside Academy is so horrific, the response to tradegy is so hopeless, the careless deaths, the hospitalised children , the missing 70 student ... raise so many questions...
This is very sad, its high time Kenya borrow a leaf from other countries on elementary, middle and high school education. Where i am, there are no boarding schools until a kid gets to university. Kids go to local schools within their localities until when they get to universities. They are picked from their doorstep and dropped after school. Schools needs to be improved within the localities where the children are such that all kids within those localities go to those schools.
Kaka l visited a boarding girls school in Nakuru oh l was schoked to see the condition of the rooms.l had not seen such before.sad.Wanjiru USA.
Parents, please let us be advocates for our children. If we don’t speak up, we will continue seeing these incidents.

What are boarding schools for kids meant for?I have been to many different countries, and boarding usually starts at high or college levels.we need to do any with it.

The regulations are stipulated clearly but the cartels are seemingly above the law. Well remembering hi ni system ya majambazi.
For true hii nini system ya majambazi kwa sababu the school was inspected and given an OK to operate 😢😢
Young children this young have no business being in a boarding school, at that age a perent needs to see the child every day, this is neglect, they know the culture has changed and parents donot pray for their families anymore, I saw a few Ladies whom Yahweh had showed in visions and they asked for church leaders and politicians wives and mothers to pray but they refused to show up.
As govt and well-wishers take bags of maize and mattresses etc...., who will offer {particularly} corporations to:-

1. Instal fire detectors in all schools' - whether day or boarding?
2. Instal LOUD fire alarms?
3.
Provide EXPERTS to train teachers and pupils/students in *FIRE DRILLS + management during such disasters* ?
