Grizzly Peak Hike Alberta- DON'T make our Big Mistake!

Grizzly Peak is in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, Alberta and is rated as Difficult. The All Trails App lists it as just over 6km up and back with 950m of elevation. Many reviews state that the hike is more like 8km in length. Most people do this as an out and back trail, but it we had read reviews and seen maps showing that it can be done as a loop with a very steep descent if travelling anticlockwise. We checked our GPS and still got it wrong, travelling down a dangerous ravine which came to a drop off. At one point the scree became a rock slide. My mate Pete grabbed the other end of my hiking pole to help me get to safety. Our 4 hour hike turned into 7:30 when we found that he had to climb back up this dangerous scree between two ridges.
