It’s called “harpooning the whale.” When someone tries to get the spotlight by inserting themselves into someone else’s spotlight. Problem for Russell is that he’s now given someone who doesn’t need any additional motivation to beat him plenty of bulletin board material. Never give an assassin a reason to aim at you.
Besides the obvious occasional jokes, MV never holds back, speaks his mind, is straightforward, and has always been truthful. This answers it all in my opinion.👴🤷♂

This! He has never redeemed himself since that happened, he is always crying and complaining about everything. He has done zero likable things his entire career.
I think, comparing what Max said about Russell, is just a small, honest comment. Russell, by the way he answered to Max’ commented, shows his true colors and Russell bringing so much personal hatred to the discussion, I find it quite funny. He himself is making people lose their respect for him. And also think him being director, will not last very long anymore…
@@jvommen He is just super salty that Max managed to snatch another championship and that his team isn't performing at RedBull's level (even when they've fallen off)
I find it unbelievable how Max is being made out to be the bad guy. He literally got an UNPRESEDENTED penalty because of Russell’s theatrics (not to even mention Russell clearly fabricated that on track) and was allowed to be upset over that. Russell is so rattled by Max calling out his two faced behavior that he has resorted to personally attacking Max, saying Max hates his team, bringing up conpletely unrelated things that happened YEARS ago, making up imaginary scenarios (claiming Max would kill Masi), and making up clear lies. Utterly repulsive how Russell gets away with this behavior, if anyone is a bully it’s him.
Hear hear...! Max didn't say too much, but what he said did not sound implausible. But what Russel said... wow... it really tells us a lot how he is as a person... I also doubt if Russel is the right person to be head of the GPDA now, since he now implicitly says he can't look at one of his colleague drivers neutrally. Max seems to have been living rent free in Russel's head for the last few years...
@@Jammon23there’s an interview with him saying all that stuff including the Masi stuff. Yes Russell actually said that max would kill Masi if Abu Dhabi went the other way
@IIDEADBIRDII Upon reading its something to do with the delta, but then that means we can't be certain that he would have exceeded the threshold and actually seems extremely unlikely since going off track wouldn't do much to affect it...
I lost all respect for Russel when I found out that the lap max impeded was a cool down lap, and then I lost even more respect when he impeded Lawson when Lawson was on a hot lap
Max didn't even impede him. George saw him ahead and had plenty of time to react and either slow down or just drive around him. He chose to do neither and just drive right up to Max so that he could react late and make it seem like Max was driving dangerously. George is just playing games.
And he didn't get penalized for empeding Lawson. Russell said Max thinks he's above the law, but he's been the one benefiting from it even though his incidents were mainly his fault.
I'm sure George doesn't give a squat about someone's respect out here. But it a complete joke that Max went out in public to say something about George, instead of facing him directly. George's response was to public noise made by Max. Max will lose this battle.
@winojoe6788 Max DID go to George directly - as George himself said. He went to him after the stewards meeting and told him what he thought. Afterwards he was asked about it in the media and just said what he thought. It's called honesty - unlike George's changing stories. As for public perception Max clearly won the battle as the vast majority seem to be critical of George. Nothing Max said about George was a lie as we've all seen his character.
@Ethanius_Zeus He literally does that every race. Do borderline stuff and then ask for a penalty or positions I like Max, but y'all need to stop acting like Max wouldn't have done something similar to this to get pole if needed
So Max goes off on his team..... how much have Lewis & George gone off on Merc the past 3 years? Stupid argument, Alonso just freaked out this weekend.... George is a snake
Bottas was driven into the wall… Zhou was driven into the wall…. What was the thing which binds those two events? Yep, Russell, two of the most heavy and dangerous crashes the last few years, caused by him! And who was it who slammed Bottas on the helmet? I said with the crash with Zhou that he wanted to do the same to Zhou as he did to Bottas, but then saw the severity of the crash and changed his story. I’m now sure of it that he wanted to do exactly that! When talking to George, and shaking his hand, count your fingers and watch over your shoulder when leaving for the knifes coming!
@TerrosimOnNiceLattes it's completely his fault since he's the only one who didn't keep a straight line he kept squeezing gasly into Zhou which caused the crash, you can't blame the guy who hasn't moved over the guy who did
‼ George Russell was TOLD "two slow cars ahead" then acting "surprised" ... utterly pathetic! 🌐George "he just turned into me" Russell is such a liar and victim. He can never do wrong, it's always Bottas' fault or Max's fault. ⚠George lost respect for Max, and the whole world lost respect for George. Well done princess. 17 other drivers were going slow with the same delta. Max has slowed down because Alonso was in front of him. You would know that if you had any racing knowledge at all.
Woody would crack under a full season of this. I dont believe geroge at all. Geroge really played into the medias pervious narrative of max and bringing up 2021 to pull on heart strings was pointless as well as only an emotional argument. Remember 2021 when george crashed into bottas and took zero accountability, then cried to the media? I do
Also Australia when he wrecked his own car and Alonso got a penalty for it because he was 30 meters AHEAD of Russell. Apparently Russell can’t see far enough in front of his car to an avoid other cars. Dudes a legit menace.
David Croft, Crofty, said Max didn’t swear, Crofty, the man who can’t say a sentence without saying Max is dangerous with his driving. So this makes all the rest George said untrustworthy. He should step aside as president, but he’s like Starmer, a two faced crook.
Why bring politics into this? After Johnson having the temerity to call Starmer a crook just serves to make you look extraordinarily stupid therefore no-one will take your comment about F1 seriously.
I strongly disagree with your on your comments about Crofte. I've been watching F1 for many many years and find him to be very unbiased in regard to Max or any other driver. I fully agree on your comment about Russel ;)
@@petervanrhein699 Crofty has had some pretty harsh things to say about Max, but in all honesty he has also praised him. Nothing like the way he swoons over Lewis, but that’s not the point. I understand your stance, but I also think Crofty would have absolutely thrown Max under the bus if it were true. George is such a princess, which is fine, whatever…. but when you start lying about altercations to try to sway opinion and get other drivers scrutinized or penalized by making shit up, you’re a douche.
His own teammate complains over the radio that he doesn’t want to drive the car several times. Last week Lewis even wanted to retire the car and Russel says that Max is top hard on his engineers?.. But no hard words on Lewis.. I am with Max
RIGHT??? People talk as if the championship is won in one race did not watch the entire season. The FIA were literally all against Max the entire season and Lewis got away with so many things. The only race where Max was treated fairly was in Abu Dhabi so he can get a fair chance at fighting Lewis wheel to wheel seeing how fans knew even then how unfair everything was on Max. Max, with an inferior car, won the championship. Period.
A bit hypocritical of him to admonish Max for criticizing His team when he himself did the same thing during the race in Qatar by complaining they put the wrong tires on or in Brazil when they pitted him too early.
Georgina getting his panties all bunched up about Max’ behavior in the steward’s office and then Crofty contradicting that is brilliant. Miss Russell not getting punished for impeding Lawson is monumentally stupid. Tone deaf stewarding and not helping the credibility of the stewards. And Russell thinking that he can buddy up to Max the morning after he screwed him over is the definition of delusional.
The problem with Russel is that he pretends to be a victim and makes a big deal out of it, that's a narcissist trait and believe me, I know one very close in my private life who is a narcissist. Max, as a Dutchman, is not served by this and says it like it is (which we Dutch people also do as standard when we are wrongly accused), although you should also take some statements with a grain of salt such as letting him crash into the wall, what if YOU are angry you sometimes say something you didn't want to say.....but is this said or is Russel making up a story himself so that he plays the victim role again and tries to win souls? Why do you think Russel is a representative of the GPDA?...he wants to be the top dog and wants to excel in ''what a great guy he is''. There is footage of that ''collision'' and audio too which shows that Russel knew LONG in advance that Verstappen was in front and still pulls this prank......and later whine at the FIA....then you're a big dickhead (even Lollipopman Comics shows it that way). But okay, 1 place back as punishment for Max and at the first corner Russel already passed.....says enough I thought.
You’re not alone in wondering if GR is a narc. The way he pulled a DARVO* as soon as his behavior was called out was so smooth that many wouldn’t notice just how manipulative it was. If you’ve ever had the unfortunate luck of trying to hold a clinical narcissist accountable before, the similarities are pretty jarring. *For those who may not know the term - DARVO: an acronym that stands for Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender, a manipulation strategy commonly used by abusers such as narcs when they’re called out. Basically it’s a tactic to deflect responsibility for their actions, attack and discredit the victim and make them out to be the one who deserves blame, then finally, make themselves out to be the “true victim” to shift the narrative. It’s considered an effective form of psychological abuse, especially when exposed to it repeatedly.
Russell is starting to dig his grave. winning some GP's has giving him some wrong attitudes. He needs to shut up and talk on the track. No one likes him even british people would go for Norris. Seriously this guy is even dangerous if he has a character change in the stewards room, this is a serious mental problem.
Norris will get rotten too if he is not careful. This year he had his mannerisms too. The "Simply lovely" for instance and also towards Sir Hamilton. Few other times too. Norris needs to stay level headed too.
@@JBKNL there’s still hope for Norris. I really liked George at Williams, but now his true character(s) is showing. I like Norris, a little less after the “luck, zero talent” comments, but it was in the moment, and he had a really rough day. That’s wholly different from Princess George’s schizophrenic behavior lately. We’ll see with Lando, I hope he puts his head down and focuses on racing, not just “going with it” when the media shoves a mic in front of his face and begs him to say something scandalous.
@@philbear21 the simply lovely can be seen as banter. The comment he made to Lewis about fastest car is just stupid. I dont know if he feels insecure and doeant know how to deal with these new situations. The "pure luck" comment was taken out of context i think.
@@JBKNL Norris, I think, misjudged his position compared to Max. While it's true he had an actual shot at defeating Max, he behaved as if the championship was in the bag already, or at least that he held all the cards, while even if he had momentum he still was quite a few points behind. Also, he just wasn't good enough yet this season: he hardly ever converted his pole positions into race leads as he got overtaken too much. Questioning Max' skills in response to Max driving a world class race, including making a right strategy call, is a direct result of that, pure copium if you ask me. We'll have to see how his character and skill develops the coming years. But either case, that's still miles off of what George is currently doing. George has the pedantic attitude that Hamilton had at times in 2021, except he has no results to back that up. Hamilton in 2021 was critical of Verstappen, his team and the stewards' calls because every point mattered, and every detail could give said point. Of course Hamilton and Mercedes were going to be salty about a dodgy call bringing Verstappen the win. But Russel was not even fighting for a podium spot, let alone a championship. He had no reason to go for Max aside from an incident during a qualification that even benefited him about which Verstappen (because by this point we all should know Verstappen is the kind of driver to get salty) had some choice words to say. There was no need to escalate this at all, there was nothing to gain, the only reason Russell responded was because he felt he needed to. Very much out of place if you ask me. Of course you can claim Verstappen should have kept his cool but Russell clearly is writing cheques his performance can't cash, unlike a 4-time world champion who pretty much already let this go.
Russel is attempting to justify how he behaved in front of stewards by smearing Max. But he overplaying. Russel opinion of himself isn’t matched by his ability nor scale of fan base.
"Do you think you spent one year too many at Williams?" "More like three years too many." Tell me again how other people don't respect those who worked hard for them and gave them opportunities, Marionette-Boy.
The fact that GR went up to Verstapphen gave him 2 pats on the back and a fist bump post race but only came up with all these accusations after Verstapphen said his comments in post race interview tells me it's BS. You don't go up and congratulate someone that apparently a day earlier said he was going to put you on your head in the wall.
Before all this started to play out, George Russell has also cried aloud that “it's about time someone finally gave Max Verstappen some real resistance.” (I think he meant that 'on the track') >> As if nobody has ever did that. Hello Lewis, hello Charles, Hello Lando!!
2:35 nice of you to use the "get lost" translation instead of the "fk off" drama creating one. "Oprotten" in Dutch is more "get lost" than "fk off". Kudos to you for doing your research
George also said that max was swearing to the stewards during the meeting. Head steward Johnny Herbert confirmed in the media that this was not true. It’s all falling apart for Georgy. According many drivers he’s an oddball.
Russell had a week of 'preparation' for his response. He must have known (cause all the world did) that he would get questions about it. And he came up with this. Not responding to the present acquisation but giving us a recap (rant) of things Max did in the past, even getting Lewis and Abu Dhabi 2021 involved. All distractions and maybe hoping that Lewis fans will back him. Could have just said: "I wanted my team and myself in the best possible position for the race. Nothing more." You could dislike him for this, but he would be the bigger man with this answer. Eloquative guy, weak personality.
Max not racing someone?! That's the only prove we need to realize George is not only a liar, but a stupid liar. Max won against 19 drivers and the FIA in the 3rd car, and this puts him in a league of his own.
Im inclinced to agree with you that GR is coming across as being in the wrong here, starting with the Qatar incident. Max has not made any reference to past events, he has simply lost respect based on the current situation. GR on the other hand has gone nuclear and bringing up unnecessary events, most of which do not even involve him. GR is acting like a bitter child .I said it.
George talks a lot of nonsense, even the stewards raise their eyebrows, he knows he's ruining it for the rest of the drivers, no one trusts him anymore, even Hamilton can talk about it if he wants
If russell would have been a strong straight personality, we would not have tried to lash out back on Max. We would have said to the press stop the bull crap Max and I sorted this out already. But yeah, he is not. So he comes with a litany of nonsense. That is what weak personalities do
It's quite manipulative of Russell to ignore that Red Bull was falling apart since the beginning of the season, with the accusations against Horner, the internal war between Horner vs Marko, the announcement of Newey's departure from the team, to try to attribute the fact that employees were trying to change teams due to Verstappen's bad behavior in ONE race. Russell conveniently forgot that at that time one of the Red Bull employees who was considering leaving the team was Max Verstappen himself.
Max MIGHT be right? Before Max said anything I already didn't believe George. I would never expect Max to say "I was planning on letting you pass me." From then on, I just assumed everything else George said was a lie.
Max saying “I was going to let you by”? That is an ill thought out lie. I don’t know Max personally but I don’t think he would ever say anything like that.
It's rather simple, really. Verstappen will always tell the truth and nothing but the truth, how hard it's maybe and he will always stay in the subject of the discussion and not bring things that's not related to the discussion. Where's Russell talks/brings things that's not related to the discussion, like 2021 or made-up stories like the one where's Verstappen was swearing in the stewards room and more...., only just to get sympathy from people and play the victim.
After 6 disappointing seasons in F1, Russell has proved that he does not have the talent required to warrant his seat in F1 and should retire after this race to give much better F1 drivers a chance to realize their dreams. In Qatar, Russell showed that he is desperate to keep his seat in F1 & is prepared to destroy the global F1 credibility to retain the seat he does not deserve. Fact! Russell has has the F1 record for causing the most 'on track' contact with other drivers, including his team mate....... and also has the record for costing his team the most championship points.
i disagree. george is a decent driver and certainly shouldn’t be the first driver to retire from the grid. this being said, he doesn’t have what it takes to be a main driver. lewis did but when he started to slip and he decided to go to ferrari george took it personally. he knows he cannot be a good mentor for kimi, he knows he can’t be the main driver. now he’s freaking out and taking it out on the easiest person to hate. i mean come on, even lando who has a mental breakdown this whole season over max is saying george is in the wrong.
@@kammacat Hmm Russell is decent driver!!! by what standard?? In F1 he has the undisputed record for: 1) Having the most physical contact with other drivers 'on track'. 2) Being responsible for losing his team the most championship points in every season. 3) Causing the biggest 'brain drain' of any F1 team in history. 4) Being the only 'driver representative' who does not follow the F1 rules. Next year, the Mercedes lose a major stablizing force & will be severely hogtied by Russell's very limited capability.
Come on ,slam dunk,, if after 5 days of spinning you need to come up with non related BS to make your point when everyone knows that Toto gonna drop Russel the second MV is willing to sign ????? MV already won WCD nothing in it for him .
As a result of Adrian Newey's surprise resignation, just after he introduced a radical upgrade to the RB20 car, Newey showed the Red Bull team just how important his input was when their car upgrades negatively effected the car's performance. With the valuable help of Max & Checo, the team has managed to allow the team to win the WDC and, unlike the Mercedes team, they have managed to keep the RB20 relatively competitive all season long.
As a max fan I definitely believe he would say that in the heat of the moment. Then again…. if there is anyone that drops heat rather quickly then it is max. So saying that the day after seems rather unlike max.
The only thing i’ll say about this, is that Russel is nowhere near close to Championship winning mentality and he’s a pretentious douche just cause he won a race, and has now become even more arrogant than he already was.
Frankly, I see Russel lying about skolding in the stewards-room He accused Max for trying to kill Masi, whilst Max had no hand in that decision. More over I see the hand of Toto, he is a strong believer of mind Games and is teaching Georg in it. Georg was a gentleman when riding with Williams and now with a humble Mercedes, it would suit him to be as humble as his performance.
we as a groep of friends watch F1 together for years now and we call russel ''that is not safe russel '' because he is always crying to the stewards about somebody else
Snake Russell, there is way too much discrepancy in his words + precedents to prove Max is being right. And let's not forget that the most honest person on grid right now is Verstappen. He can be intense on track, but overall he's the most chill driver on the current grid. Drama all around in Red Bull, and the most rage we saw was at Hungary where the team lost him P3 and technically got him to P5. It was a fair rage, although the Hamilton incident was unnecessary, but can even understand that, when you are always trying your best and you get undercut twice in one race by a strategical mistake.
It was a Mercedes controlled attack. Putting Verstappen into defence. It just backfired, because everytime he is attacked, he gets angry and "an angry Max is a dangerous one." Verstappen then finds extra motivation to get everything out of the car. He does his talking on track. George and Mercedes tried to rattle Max, it just didn't work. George is frustrated that he didn't get that winning car, Lewis got all those years. He missed out. To me Georges talk was all rehearsed. Not spontaneous. The tonations on key words and his way of looking was to make sure his points came through. ... So in my eyes it is as fake as what. With Verstappen you know what you get. (WYSIWYG) I believe that Verstappen is correct about George. George is the kind of guy that told his teacher that there was homework, and that the kid in the back had a cheatsheet in his back. I find him untrustworthy, and a snob.
George, lashing out crying yet again, said Max struggles with Adversity, yet he is 4 times world champion, so he appears to handle it quite well. Can we stop talking about 2021 without talking about Silverstone? Lewis slams his team every single race for three years
Russell comes across as an extremely fake, two-faced, manufactured person. Verstappen just shoots from the hip. Complete opposites, but i'd definitely trust max's word over russells
George’s statement has a lot of things going on. It’s as if he’s justifying by giving examples from the past. If he is in the right here he should’ve just focused on the present issue and state that max is the one in the wrong here. Truly a diva
You are forgetting the worst of all the whining, where Baby Russell is claiming that 'if 2021 would have gone the other way, Masi would have had to fear for his life'. That's the kind of BS that can make you have to appear in court.
Your analysis and opinions are interesting but of course very open to arguments. I think you did a good and objective job dissecting this ridiculous situation but there is always more information that we don't know. I prefer analyzing the actual races as the rest is just emotional output usually derived from the actual actions of the drivers and teams on the track. Thanks for being somewhat methodical and distinguishing the differences between fact and opinion. There is some relevance here as racing like all sports is the great combination of physical and mental skills. I personally think Max has the slight upper hand over George in both categories.
Max is 100% what-you-see-is-what-you-get. He's not a liar. George on the other hand is like a used car salesman. Lying, cheating and stealing is just a tool to get ahead. F1 is a high stakes game. And one can use any tool available to win. Whether that is morally questionable is a personal decision. Can't blame Russell for trying. But doesn't mean I can't think Russell is a****hole.
This is a good Video everyone. This is a very fair assessment of this awkward and unnecessary situation that we all know that George comes across as double faced. Thank you !!
It’s a bit strange from Russel to say you have always respected him, then mention all things that have happened in the past that you now don’t respect Max anymore. So basically you never respected Max 🤷🏼♀️😂
Vettel, Senna and Schumacher: actually ran in to others on purpose. Almost universally lauded for their virtues. Max, never crashed another out, is considered evil at the wheel personified.
you are right, a team .... any team ... when faced with adversity, need a person standing with them pushing them to do better. Yes Max is hard on the mechanics .,.. But never harder than on himself. Remember when their car was struggling ... after the race Max was in the pit-box right alongside the mechanics to try and identify what they needed to find to improve. Guess how many drivers hand in their helmet and head for their trailer or home.
George says Max shouldn't have taken it personally, meanwhile he went and grabbed daddy Toto so fast to defend him like a brat. George is a joke, all bark and no bite
I think this is truly one of the best analyses of all the events from the past few years! Hats off for the objectivity and the way the likelihood of everything being said was addressed. Totally agree, especially regarding the incident in 2021, and I say that as a Max Verstappen fan.
George also said he would have won the title if he had the McLaren, so the real insult is really about Lando not max . He is calling max a bully but Lando a shitty driver,Lando appears to be to thick to realise this and thinks is all amusing.
Russell ‘knows for a fact’ 25% of resumes got send out to McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes??? Guess he is head of HR at all of these teams aswell?? Russell is a drama queen that fits great at Mercedes.
The point is that Russell didn't react on Verstappen's accusation, being the reason he lost his respect for George. Instead George came with a form of whataboutism, accusing Max of threatening him, bullying him. So the stories are not incompatible , they could be both true: George is a sneaky bastard and Max is a hot-headed ass, sometimes. Furthermore: They are both excellent racing drivers, one of obviously outperforming the other. No need to actually put George on his arrogant head against the wall, but see it as a metaphor and Max's promise was quite accurate... But: Please people, let's talk about cars and racing and admire the skills of those folk, let them amaze us with the beauty of driving an impossible machine on the edge, but paying a little less attention to the feelings of some spoiled privileged boys, with testosterone issues.
I you're not there to win you are not F1 material. You do it on the track though, not in the steward's room where except for Max everyone inside is a drinking buddy of yours.
GR and F1 officials are planning to sue Verstappen for driving to fast during F1 races. At least 25 races should be given to GR, regardless GR did not even finish second or third in a number of races. As president of the Grand Prix Drivers' Association, I should award the points, according to GR.
The thing is not if Verstappen might be right or wrong about Russell. Russell is just downright unlikable smug ass yapper. Verstappen just said what he should have said. So he is 100% in the right. And Russell can crash himself alone to the wall. Without Hamilton he is nothing. 2025 will be "marvelous" for Mercedes.
For me it is clear . If a person mentions only what an other person does but not looking at himself , most of the time that person is wrong . George metions that max is aggressive because he pushed ocon . But we all know that george hit bottas ofter a crash when bottas even was sitting in his car moaning of pain . The fact on the other side . We all know silverstone 2021 . The next race max defended lewis in front of the press because things happen and it was racing . Thats also a fact . Russell is a manipulating ,sneaky and a liar .
14:55 Lewis should never have been in a position to win the championship in Abu Dhabi GP 2021 since he should have been disqualified from the Silverstone GP after deliberately trying to take out his only opponent for the 2021 WDC in Copse Corner!
WAIT…was the comment that Max said “he would put Russell into the wall”, originate from what Russell says was a PRIVATE conversation they had??? So FIRST, let’s establish, did Max confirm if he actually said this???? Who else was there? No one else I presume since Russell states it was said in “PRIVATE”. Before we look at if it’s justified or not and waste our time/emotions, DID MAX SAY THIS?
Max is hardly squeaky clean. His move on Piastri was an utter dick move. If he was fighting for the championship maybe acceptable but it was just reckless and stupid and Piastri summed it up perfectly on the team radio. I've nothing against Max at all and think he's a deserved champion but that move was just very poorly judged.
I get being competitive and wanting to be fair (I like to race my self), but this is how to make enemies on the track. Russell should have went and talked to him personally.
If its a question of personalities, I'm more inclined to believe Verstappen over George. George always felt like a cunning guy, while Verstappen always felt like the same guy all the way from his debut, he's a hothead, yes, aggressive...Yes. But Verstappen is also a straightforward, honest guy, what you see is always what you get from him.
Max said he was gunna put his head thro the wall not saying he's gunna crash him out and even if the Merc was that fast why would he risk the car like that for something silly
Russel is factually wrong about the incident that started this, and several drivers have come out saying that the stewards siding with him was wrong and has materially hurt the sport. Max was forced to slow down because of a driver in front of him who did the same, and Russel was NOT in a hot lap or even preparing for one. Knowing that, I personally have also lost all respect for Russel, and I fully agree with Max. Russel is a backstabber, what the Dutch call a "matennaaier". An loathsome person. I wouldn't count on Max driving for Mercedes while Russel is driving there. In fact, I would be amazed if that were to happen. Only toxic teams would let a person like Russel work for them.
Qatar qualifying was George's version of a hissy fit, basically for losing the spotlight in Vegas to Max. Max's response on Qatar raceday, the RB20 nose turned towards Russell and heading to comfortable victory, was just Max Verstappen being Max Verstappen. Not that either of them can, in today's times, beat each other up in the paddock. Summary DSQ will follow. So "war of the words" it must be. Russell has this "Saviour of Mercedes" self-image, which will make 2025 really interesting. There will certainly be an occasion when he gets caught in the dirty air of Hamilton's Ferrari (of his own fault, mind you), ends up in barrier and Hamilton gets drive through or some such, because George's tears of blood will be too much for Johnny Herbert to overlook. Unless Johnny doesn't know which way to turn since two British drivers are involved. But not because George didn't cry loud enough. If Andrea shows some prodigious driving skills and outqualifies George regularly, Russell might just self-combust!
What do you think of what Max & George had to say about each other and was any of what was said justified in your view?
It’s called “harpooning the whale.” When someone tries to get the spotlight by inserting themselves into someone else’s spotlight. Problem for Russell is that he’s now given someone who doesn’t need any additional motivation to beat him plenty of bulletin board material. Never give an assassin a reason to aim at you.

Russell never said any of those things.
Even more so as head of the GPDA... 🤡
Hey Russell- Boo fkn Hoo😢😂

Typical young spoilt Brattt *
George says max cant deal with adversity, but he’s the one that cries when he crashes😂

Zhou was driven into the wall….
What was the thing which binds those two events?
Yep, Russell, two of the most heavy and dangerous crashes the last few years, caused by him!

I said with the crash with Zhou that he wanted to do the same to Zhou as he did to Bottas, but then saw the severity of the crash and changed his story. I’m now sure of it that he wanted to do exactly that!
When talking to George, and shaking his hand, count your fingers and watch over your shoulder when leaving for the knifes coming!

not only that but hit a dude who had a big crash on the head which could of been bad if he had a neck injury after the crash george caused
Also Australia when he wrecked his own car and Alonso got a penalty for it because he was 30 meters AHEAD of Russell. Apparently Russell can’t see far enough in front of his car to an avoid other cars. Dudes a legit menace.
Osama bin russell is his name
David Croft, Crofty, said Max didn’t swear, Crofty, the man who can’t say a sentence without saying Max is dangerous with his driving. So this makes all the rest George said untrustworthy. He should step aside as president, but he’s like Starmer, a two faced crook.
Why bring politics into this? After Johnson having the temerity to call Starmer a crook just serves to make you look extraordinarily stupid therefore no-one will take your comment about F1 seriously.
@ I think I made my point, and your reaction is proof to that.
George is such a princess, which is fine, whatever…. but when you start lying about altercations to try to sway opinion and get other drivers scrutinized or penalized by making shit up, you’re a douche.
Max only talks about his feelings towards George. George talks Lewis and Horner into the story... Weak!
Also Max voices opinions while Russel voices accusations comming from theories and might happen if stories.
His own teammate complains over the radio that he doesn’t want to drive the car several times. Last week Lewis even wanted to retire the car and Russel says that Max is top hard on his engineers?.. But no hard words on Lewis.. I am with Max
Why do people still blame Max for AD21? He had literally NOTHING to do with what happened. He profited from it, but you can’t hold that against him.
EXACTLY!!! Don’t hate the player hate the game
Period.
Russel is a cry baby, period.
A bit hypocritical of him to admonish Max for criticizing
His team when he himself did the same thing during the race in Qatar by complaining they put the wrong tires on or in Brazil when they pitted him too early.
Karen Russel right?
The way russell has acted shows he is not strong enough mentally to deal with it internally,
Russell is starting to dig his grave. winning some GP's has giving him some wrong attitudes.
If I recall Russel’s race engineer warned him that cars ahead are bunching up, well before he reached Max, so he has no excuse.
"Do you think you spent one year too many at Williams?"
"More like three years too many."
Tell me again how other people don't respect those who worked hard for them and gave them opportunities, Marionette-Boy.
I liked them both, but I like George less now.
Russell has never made a mistake and is perfect. Just ask him.
🤣
The fact that GR went up to Verstapphen gave him 2 pats on the back and a fist bump post race but only came up with all these accusations after Verstapphen said his comments in post race interview tells me it's BS. You don't go up and congratulate someone that apparently a day earlier said he was going to put you on your head in the wall.
Before all this started to play out, George Russell has also cried aloud that “it's about time someone finally gave Max Verstappen some real resistance.” (I think he meant that 'on the track') >> As if nobody has ever did that. Hello Lewis, hello Charles, Hello Lando!!

Nothing more."
You could dislike him for this, but he would be the bigger man with this answer.
GR is acting like a bitter child
.I said it.
That is what weak personalities do
George's nickname is literally "he just turned into me" 😂😂. What a hypocrite.
RG is a karen inside..
Max is as straightforward a human being as you can ask for, George on the other hand is a conniving drama queen...
Max MIGHT be right? Before Max said anything I already didn't believe George. I would never expect Max to say "I was planning on letting you pass me." From then on, I just assumed everything else George said was a lie.
"i was not even going to race you"... Max would race his unborn child if he had to lol.
I like that Max is getting the Goku treatment now.
Max saying “I was going to let you by”? That is an ill thought out lie. I don’t know Max personally but I don’t think he would ever say anything like that.
Max? Letting someone by? Are we talking about the same Dutch racing psychopath?
It's rather simple, really. Verstappen will always tell the truth and nothing but the truth, how hard it's maybe and he will always stay in the subject of the discussion and not bring things that's not related to the discussion. Where's Russell talks/brings things that's not related to the discussion, like 2021 or made-up stories like the one where's Verstappen was swearing in the stewards room and more...., only just to get sympathy from people and play the victim.
Title should be "Why Max Verstappen is right about George Russel"
After 6 disappointing seasons in F1, Russell has proved that he does not have the talent required to warrant his seat in F1 and should retire after this race to give much better F1 drivers a chance to realize their dreams.
In Qatar, Russell showed that he is desperate to keep his seat in F1 & is prepared to destroy the global F1 credibility to retain the seat he does not deserve.
Fact! Russell has has the F1 record for causing the most 'on track' contact with other drivers, including his team mate....... and also has the record for costing his team the most championship points.
If Red Bull implodes, Merc would be better served having Max and Kimi, rather than having George and Kimi
@AllKings Russell has destroyed the Mercedes team unity & future.
i disagree. george is a decent driver and certainly shouldn’t be the first driver to retire from the grid. this being said, he doesn’t have what it takes to be a main driver. lewis did but when he started to slip and he decided to go to ferrari george took it personally. he knows he cannot be a good mentor for kimi, he knows he can’t be the main driver. now he’s freaking out and taking it out on the easiest person to hate. i mean come on, even lando who has a mental breakdown this whole season over max is saying george is in the wrong.

4) Being the only 'driver representative' who does not follow the F1 rules.

The only thing i’ll say about this, is that Russel is nowhere near close to Championship winning mentality and he’s a pretentious douche just cause he won a race, and has now become even more arrogant than he already was.
Frankly, I see Russel lying about skolding in the stewards-room
He accused Max for trying to kill Masi, whilst Max had no hand in that decision.
More over I see the hand of Toto, he is a strong believer of mind Games and is teaching Georg in it.
Georg was a gentleman when riding with Williams and now with a humble Mercedes, it would suit him to be as humble as his performance.
we as a groep of friends watch F1 together for years now and we call russel
''that is not safe russel '' because he is always crying to the stewards about somebody else
(WYSIWYG)
I believe that Verstappen is correct about George.
George is the kind of guy that told his teacher that there was homework, and that the kid in the back had a cheatsheet in his back. I find him untrustworthy, and a snob.

Russell comes across as an extremely fake, two-faced, manufactured person. Verstappen just shoots from the hip. Complete opposites, but i'd definitely trust max's word over russells
Not might be right. Max is right.
Max has been right about a lot of things. What are the odds that he's right about RUS being two faced in a bad way?
Slight? By a million miles you mean
But doesn't mean I can't think Russell is a****hole.

you are right, a team .... any team ... when faced with adversity, need a person standing with them pushing them to do better. Yes Max is hard on the mechanics .,.. But never harder than on himself. I think this is truly one of the best analyses of all the events from the past few years! Hats off for the objectivity and the way the likelihood of everything being said was addressed. Totally agree, especially regarding the incident in 2021, and I say that as a Max Verstappen fan.

Max denied having said this, so another lie by RUS if you choose to believe Max and I do.
Amazing … Toto is a mature cry baby , and Russel is an immature cry baby 😢 … 😂
I've worked a lot with people from Britain. And........indeed, i've also seen a lot that they said A, but did B behind your back!
Max said he was gunna put his head thro the wall not saying he's gunna crash him out and even if the Merc was that fast why would he risk the car like that for something silly
Russell is such a brat
Did George complain for a bird being on a chicane? Legend has it he went to the stewards for that too
I think George wants to prevent max coming to mercesdes in 2026. it will cost George his seat. And nobody wants George as he is not a teamplayer
