I had a c section with my first due to him being OP and contractions fizzling out. My second- I did everything in my power to make sure this baby was in optimal position by doing spinning babies, physical therapy, and Webster chiropractic care... and when I was 35 weeks, my blood pressure was high at an appointment and the doctor recommended induction. I did not want this so I researched high and low how to manage my high blood pressure and discovered Brewers diet. It's a high protein diet designed to help expand blood volume for pregnant women and their growing babies! I implemented it right away and saw immediate improvement on both my labs and blood pressure. At 38 weeks I went into spontaneous labor and got my vbac!!!

High blood pressure is nothing to mess with. It is the number one killer of new mama’s. I as well planned for a natural birth and had to get induced from high blood pressure. Labor started and everything went side ways. I ended up waking up in the ICU with a classic C section after a vaginal birth. I ended up readmitted 10 days later for pulmonary adema from preeclampsia. I changed my tune on birth plans…. The plan should be for both mama and baby to make it out alive. Just my opinion.

Oh I agree about high blood pressure. But white coat syndrome is also real. My BP would spike in my Doctors office because she made me so uncomfortable. I have a BP reader at home it always read normal. I’m sorry you went through that it sounds tough glad you made it out safe.

You are absolutely justified to feel this way. There could have been so many things done to progress your labor with alternative methods but you were fear-mongered and rushed. You deserved to have a holistic, fully informed birth. Don’t let anyone blame or gaslight you for this outcome. You did what you thought was right in the moment of fear but it could have been handled differently. Please keep speaking out and sharing your truth. I am sick and tired of these medical system bootlicking patients that put others down for feeling bad about the practices that only convenience the system and the insurance/pharmaceutical pockets.

I had three. And I’m not sure any were needed. I too had a dr who wouldn’t listen to me. ( my one OB/GYN even ended up committing suicide two weeks after my C-section). I even felt the second one before the knocked me out ( the epidural wasn’t taking) only mine is vertical. straight down from my belly button. Can’t hide that with cute underwear even. And healing? If I had zippered pants on like jeans? The scar rubbed. Hurt endlessly. Women have to advocate for themselves. Especially in this area. C-Sections are major surgery and traumatic.

I’m so sorry that you went through that. Doctors make a huge difference in your experience and outcome. My friend got induced same week as I did, very similar situation the difference was her Doctor was patient enough to see what her body was doing. They had the c-section conversation and everything but ultimately my friend had a vaginal birth. And I think her doctor made the difference.

I had an unplanned C-section too (2 months ago). Water broke but contractions were barely there. Later I was put on pitocin for many hours (I got the epidural during this because the pain was rough). After 29 hours of labor, I had a C-section. I believe mine was medically necessary, but it was still traumatic. Going through all those hours thinking you're going to have a vaginal delivery, and having plans drastically change, is heartbreaking. 😞 I'm so sorry for your situation too. Sounds very stressful.❤‍🩹Hurts my soul that your medical team may not have had your best interest in mind. That's awful

Hi. Every women want everyghing best for herself and baby(i'm sorry on my english,it's not my first language),but birth plan just can't be planned, everything can change in one minute. I understand you,but doctors know risk ,maby it was risk for you or baby,so it's okay to have c-section when they know some things what we don't,but they have to say to you everything what is going on. Many women die from high pressure,i mean, there is no one hour or 2,minutes are very important and you don't have time to think about it even if you want natural birth so much, you and your baby are on first place and scars, thinking, planning, nothing is important....Be proud on yourself and every pregnancy and labor are different, maby next will be better! I wish you good health and good luck to you and your baby!😊

I've had two babies. One vaginally with medication (the way I wanted) and my second via c-section. The c-section was harder. Their rationale was he was measuring big. I even pushed for 3 opinions because I did not want a C-section. That said, when they opened me up there was meconium in the amniotic fluid, so I would've most likely had a C-section anyway. That all said, vaginally is so much easier than C-section. Anyone who argues that having major surgery and recovering from major surgery is easier than nature is just plain ignorant.

You consented in every step of your pregnancy journey. You made the best decision for yourself and your babe, but even still the outcome isn't always what we wish. Your c section sounds 10000% necessary. The prolonged labor, short cord, wrapped around baby's neck and the low heart rate are all evidence to support that. Sounds crazy to hear that your were failed however you were offered options and chose every step of the way. Like literally, even down to the timing of your surgery. Maybe you really feel like you failed yourself for not saying no to things. Hindsight is 20/20.

Iv had six babies last one went on to be an emergency c section. I hated it ,was the most scariest time, also didn't see him be born as they put me out I lost alot of blood. My scar is really bad on the right side. Iv ended up with a lump of scar tissue and can see it through my clothes. Will never wear tight fitting clothes and always dread summer. Having a c section is definitely not the easy way out that's for sure. I would have vaginal delivery over and over again.

It's definitely a scary time! The fact that people don't think about c-sections as major surgery is insane. Glad you and your baby made out alive. Sorry about the scar. For months after, I would look at my scar and cry. I don't cry anymore, but I definitely get upset every time I see it. It's something I have to work through.

Yes our bodies are “made” to give birth but just like in nature - with no modern medical intervention the mortality rate of mothers and babies is MUCH higher.
If they had just left your baby in there and he died that would of been a worse outcome than a precautionary C-section no?
