I've owned Chevy/GMC Z71 4x4s for nearly two decades. I traded my 2016 GMC Sierra Z71 for a 2020 GMC X31, in late 2019. After having back surgery, the Z71 was too bouncy and stiff. Dealers said the X31 was a softer ride. And sure enough it is! Something is different! Different Ranchos, may be?
I bought a new sierra x31 black with black rims. For an extra 1k I can still get leather interior. Not sure about that right now. But I do want to say I was taken aback with the push button parking brake. To me an emergency brake should be completely manual, but this one is electronic--not good imo. But not a deal breaker either.
Hey Jeff, question. Is the ground clearance the same for each of these trucks? Online research says yea, but I was interested in an opinion from someone who's seen them in person.
Jeff, I thought they changed both the Silverado and the Sierra to X-31 from Z-71 because of the Canadian Zed and American Zee pronunciations. so it would be fluent in both countries. Any truth to that with the Sierra?
I have amongst others the X31 package on my 2021 Sierra 3500HD SLE SRW. But it only has the single exhaust. Is this depended on model like the 1500 or 2500? Thanks!

Always wondered if there was a difference. Thank you sir!
Glad I could help!
I wish there was a way to filter out dealers marketing their products. Plus, "Rancho" shocks are NOT premium shocks.

The GMC has that "X" factor...;)
Lol, I like it! 😁👍🏼

Doesn’t the Z71 package come with floor liners?? Mine did….like a complete set of rubber mats that cover the carpet…completely
Does the X31 change payload or towing capacity at all?
Great explanation! 🇨🇦

When is the 2022 Silverado coming our
Hasn’t been announced yet

lol ..Close, but no 😝
I read somewhere that the x31 has a front locker? i guess that was false?
Just the G80 auto locking diff.. and you can choose 4LO when you have the x31… Not true lockers
Neither are truly off-road without front lockers.

They do not say "ZEE" in Canadian English!
