Just heard this on the radio … Radio Classica here in Spain .. so beautiful .. thank you very much dear wonderful & generous person for posting this video .. for thinking of others by sharing .. may you be blessed , may you be happy 🙏🏻🌳🌲💕
This music expresses the yearning of the human soul, unlike so much modern music that expresses the despair of the human intellect that has lost its connection to the soul.
@@vitordelima Sorry, but it seems, you also belong to the kind of human beeing, which is meant. It is not written, that intellect is not important. It is written about an intellect, that has lost its connection to the soul.
You are very good and Vasks is really brilliant! My choir sang "Pater Noster" during one of our last performances. Write this in the search. You're going to love it for sure! Corale Novarmonia - Pater Noster (P. Vasks)
I'm an atheist. I preface this because I have been trying to go back to church recently to basically dot my "I"'s and cross my "T"'s. On a very horrible day during this time I was crossing a very familiar bridge and this song came on my local NPR station. As I came to a stop on the bridge for a red light I look to my right as (5:40) hit. Painted on one of the metal braces was a white dove. The sight gave me chills. I still don't believe in god, but for lack of a better phrase, jesus christ that moment was religious. What a piece.
yeah, I'm an atheist too, and don't want to go to the church. But sometimes i can access to the sense of holy when being in some places, and hearing some things. Like these.
Pretty music but why show for the first 35 or so seconds the conductor walking to the podium, putting on his glasses, pausing, before playing? It's the music and the musicians, not the conductor that's important here.
When you're invited to a dinner party, do you walk right in, set yourself at the table and begin to eat? Enjoy the 'atmosphere' , get to know your fellow guests & appreciate that YOU are privileged to be there to enjoy the experience! Gratitude, Discipline, Fellowship--you are a part of a unique experience. Take the time to gather all the visual & sociological surroundings and relax; why the rush? If so, just buy a 'cheap' recording & fast forward and "get it over in a hurry"! Appreciate this special 'slice' of LIFE as IT comes to you at this special moment!!
If only the world would pause and listen. There would be peace on earth.
Belíssimo! Um bálsamo! Gratidão por compartilhar tanta beleza!🙏

davehshs: Thanks. Succinct statement of what I take to be an important truth.
I totally agree with you
I think both are important themes, it is art after all.
This is MODERN music. Pēteris Vasks is a Latvian composer. Wikipedia Born: April 16, 1946 (age 72 years). Otherwise hi is old-fashioned composer.

Amazingly wonderful.
Glorious, thank you!

Profound timing and juxtaposition delivering a sense of the holy.

Le temps n'existe plus,il n'y a que l'espace
Sur des paroles de Mère Thérèsa.
From which album is this beautiful art?
Laudate Dominum
Does anyone know if this orchestral version is available in MP3 format? All I can find is a forthcoming recording with piano.
I'd love to find an orchestral recording of this also.
The version with piano strikes me even harder, the choir has to do it all, just some single notes and chords from the piano...

+Ronnie Moore Because it helps you to calm down to fully enjoy this masterpiece.
Americans always in a hurry. How a woman comes down a staircase is as important as what she says when she gets to the bottom.
