Le seul acteur français qui a joué le même personnage sur deux décennies, dans 5 films différents, grâce à cet autre génie, Truffaut. Chapeau l'artiste.

Je suis né à Cannes en 1959, François Truffaut, le plus redoutable critique de son époque, présentait anxieusement son premier film :
Les 400 Coups.
A la fin de la projection, j'étais porté en triomphe sous un tonnerre d'applaudissements.
Et cette année ( 2016 ) c'est avec le film : la mort de Louis XIV, que je suis de nouveau à Cannes.
JE N'AI JAMAIS VOULU CONSTRUIRE UNE CARRIÈRE, j'ai choisi de tourner avec des réalisateurs que j'aime et admire.
Jacques Rivette, Philippe Garrel, Pasolini, Agnès Varda, Olivier Assayas, Bertrand Bonello...
Enfin, toutes celles et tous ceux pour qui la Nouvelle Vague compte, et répète une liberté qui se déroule dans le monde du cinéma.
Depuis 50 ans que je monte et redescend les marches ( du palais où se déroule le festival de Cannes...), je me pose toujours la question de André Bazin :
Qu'est-ce que le cinéma ?
Je n'ai toujours pas réussi à résoudre l'énigme, mais une phrase de Jean Cocteau m'a traversé l'esprit :
" Le cinéma est le seul art qui capture la mort au travail, on la voit travailler au travers des acteurs, comme des abeilles à travers une ruche de verre "
Je crois que c'est cela qu'à su discerner Thierry Frémaux en posant son regard sur la mort de Louis XIV.
C'est peut-être aussi cela qui l'a incité à me décerner la Palme d'Or d'Honneur du Festival de Cannes.
C'est Formidable !

Je n'arrive pas à y croire et ne sait comment remercier Thierry Frémaux.
Je veux que l'on sache que je ressens aujourd'hui la même joie profonde, qu'il y a 58 ans, quand François Truffaut m'a dit, en me remettant le scénario des 400 Coups :
" Tiens Jean Pierre, voilà le scénario, tu as le rôle principal "
Merci Thierry Frémaux, merci Monsieur Lescure et un Grand Merci au Festival de Cannes.

This is great! We get so little French TV over her in the US. We don’t get to see anything going on in France except through the Prism Lens of the BBC which is Biased and Anti French in my opinion. The British still hate and resent the French. They don’t like the idea that France has a better Culture than them and especially Cuisine! The Brits do have Shakespeare, the Beatles (a Gift to the World) James Bond now irrelevant, Monty Python, Benny Hill And Mr. Bean (still funny)but other than those considerable contributions and many great Rock Bands to Western Culture, that’s about it!
They are basically Cold Fish! Cold Blooded too. Although I Do really like Nigella Lawson a lot! She is so damn hot with the Food Porn 🥘! I’d sure like to cook something up in her Kitchen! But I’m not sure she’s really British. She seems like a Greek Woman to my eyes. A Classic Greek Beauty. I’d like her to do an Ancestry test. I bet she’s Greek or Italian! I doubt she’s English very much.

Fish n Chips are good but don’t really compare to French 🍷 Wines, Cheese, Pate, Cuisine, Chocolates 🍫, Fine Pastry 🥮! Couture French Fashion, Perfume (they Invented it) And last But definitely not least French Cinema(they invented Cinema as well as Photography) And Women (the Hottest Women on the Planet) 🌍. When a Hot French Lady Whispers something in French in your Ear, your Done! She’s got you and you’ll follow her entranced. All you’ll say is Oui Oui, Mon Cheri! You are helpless to resist and she’s got you under her spell, if your lucky 🍀 that is.

I am writing this critique in English so the British did spread their language world 🌎 Wide. So That’s an achievement! But still I wish I spoke and knew French! The International Language of Diplomats. It’s just so sophisticated sounding and beautiful to the ear! Don’t get me started on German. It just sounds brutal to me and is the perfect language to yell in. Mach Snell! Das ist eine Swinhund! Ja Woll herr Comidant! I just don’t like the sound of it. Way too Abrasive and Brutal! But French is a Beautiful Romance Language! You can’t go wrong with French! Anything you say sounds cool! 😎
