    One reason why a remake wouldn't work is because of the timing. The 1980s and the 1950s had that right balance of modern and old-fashioned, respectively. A teenager in the 2020s going back in time to the 1990s wouldn't look particularly out of place since clothing , including underwear and sleepwear, wasn't all that different. The biggest changes since then relate to the internet and home entertainment and smart phones.

      Fun fact: When designing the world of the 1950s, they had to exaggerate a lot of the features because they thought the '50s was too similar to the '80s. Theoretically the same would happen if a remake were made (though still hopefully they wouldn't).

      Yes when watching movies of a bygone era our minds tend to focus on the differences rather than the simularities. Some old movies don't contain enough to seem that out of place. Smart of them to add more distinct stereotypical details.

    It's the small things. Like how Doc obviously doesn't have a permit and bribes the cop seeing as that he had his fortune in 1955.

    • @DW3010
      @DW3010 Месяц назад +1

      That’s in a deleted scene. In the actual movie, he doesn’t bribe him. He just says of course I have a permit and the camera pans away to show Marty put in the letter in coat pocket.

    Since seeing this at the cinema as a 9 year old this has always been my number 1 movie. You highlighted a couple of things I’d never thought about after dozens of views of the movie, the behind the scenes, other essays etc.

    It just hits rite on so many levels unlike so many other countless movies. Sci FI, Comedy, Romance and a dash of Mystery as Marty needs to figure out how to get his parents together before he's erased from existence.

    4:50 both of they scenes had rain on the road , the reason Michaels scene looked sunny is because it was used in the movie, Eric's looked dull (cloudy) because they didn't use it, there was no reason brighten it up, all deleted scenes in movies look dull as it costs money to sharpen the image of film reels, that's why they don't waste the money or time to fix it in post-production when its not going to be in the movie

    Great video man. Hope you grow quickly man. You have the gift. I have also had a different mindset to the song Power Of Love, and regarding George. Was it the PoL that gave him the courage to finally stand up to Biff? p.s. I was about 9 when this came out. I still remember what theater and where we sat.

    Why is the kiss disturbing? Marty did not kiss his mother; his mother kissed Marty as Marty was backing away from her. Marty's mother just thought Marty was just another boy and she had no idea he was her future son.
    It would have been disturbing if Marty gave his future mother the tongue, but he did not. He retreated as far away as he could, backing into the door before she kissed him.

    • @peachdoors
      @peachdoors  Месяц назад

      I say that it's disturbing because it's clearly a very uncomfortable situation for Marty. But yes, your scenario would be disturbing as well, maybe in a different way.

    • @peachdoors
      @peachdoors  Месяц назад +1

      What makes this movie good to me is how the characters learn and grow, among other things, as I talk about in the vid. But I can understand why certain logical elements might hold the movie back for some.

      @spaceace4387 Месяц назад

      @@peachdoors Yeah like for example: Marty starts to disappear because he wouldn't exist in the new timeline that was created, yet when Biff makes a new timeline the Time Machine wouldn't exist yet the Time Machine doesn't disappear.
