A Tour of Marmaris, Turkey | Tourist Heaven or Hell?
So convenient. I consider going there, and just search Marmaris and Gabriel Traveler, and a video comes up with great info. EASY!
Ha, excellent. ✌️👍
coming to marmaris in 21 days!!
My dad lives in Marmaris!! He has a restaurant/beach bar at the beach. If you’re in Marmaris again, please let me know so I can tell him to offer you some free meals 😄 You’re amazing!!
What is the name of your dads restaurant ? Xx
What restaurant is it?
Free meals 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What’s it called ?
Free meals ? Yes please
Beautiful
Brilliant holiday definitely recommend, but make sure to check out for best currency. Don’t shop with pound notes. If u go inside shops shopping, don’t be forced to buy, weigh the prices
Great vid as always Gabe
Looking forward to seeing this one... Been like my second home the last 10 years... Thanks for sharing..
What a gorgeous area!
everything was so clean..a well looked after place.
At the end of a season most places look tired-as but this looked lovely and respected.
thanks for the future trip respite (hopefully)
I think all of the Mediterranean cities/countries are well keep, picture perfect, which is why I keep going back year after year! Someone was promoting Serbia, it's just not the same level to me
Very good i was there in Marmaris in June 2019
that restaurant strip looked absolutely insane at night time in the other video, with the lighting and streets and music etc
One of my favorite places my husband and I visited while cruising.
WELCOME TO TURKEY NICE VLOG GABRIEL
Thanks for taking me to Turkey this year 2020 🙋♀️🇮🇪🙏🏻
I'm still so amazed at how many restaurants and stores they have in these countries. Love seeing all these places
It's a tourist resort, so they have lots of restaurants and stores.
Bet youre American
@@whitelabsmiles417 yes I am, never been out of the country, I'm glad he posts these videos so I can see the other parts of the world, he's been to some beautiful places
Appreciated the vid Gabriel, especially from a cold wet windy England 👍
Greetings to Turks and Turkey from Serbia (Sirbistan). I hope we will spend our vacations in Marmaris this summer without any issues and terms, pcr tests or vaccine.
Welcome! You made a great choice! Marmaris is such a nice place to chill! Enjoy!
Great review.. Marmaris is always packed with tourists in peak season ... now looks quiet but still is beautiful
Always wanted a neon sign for my house. Now I know I need to get one that reads, "NO HASSLE". That's priceless! Wonder how much a hotel is there when the World Rally Championship event goes down. That'd be a fun atmosphere, (if you like rally racing).
fabulous place! The beach is beautiful, the scenery is very nice! Room hotel great deal! Waow! ⛱🍪🍺👍
Marmaris is paradise my boyfriend lives there
Looked so happy so much.
Wow! Mind Blowing scenery. Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Cheers mate, was cool video.
Been to Marmaris a while ago when it was buzzing and during peak season - best resort town in Turkey (better than Bodrum) but I prefer the culture and history in places like Istanbul, Ephesus, Kusadasi, Izmir, Antalya, Cappadocia, Bursa and Konya. But wherever you are in Turkey, I can guarantee a couple of things - great food and amazing people. Turkey is also in my top 10 holiday destinations and I have travelled over 35 countries
I have been in Turkey but I haven’t seen Marmaris 😟 After watching your video I would like to visit it
It looks absolutely fabulous. I caught sight of an Irish Pub near the hotel you were staying!!
Amazing beautiful place
Really familiar places, I was there during summer 2019.
Best travel channel 👌 ever! Informative, intelligent, good photography, good looking!
Remember to CC por favor...
Turkish food is amazing!
Many happy memories of Marmaris. visited several times and will no doubt return one day. Great video, lovely to see familiar places.
Marmaris is cheap to visit, Just booked 7 nights bed and breakfast beach hotel, return flights from Edinburgh plus transfers all for £215.00 roll on November.
How was the experience? Am going with my family.just wondering how it’s going to be
@@navjotbains4918 When i went there was a lack of tourists due to COVID, However there was plenty to do and places to eat. Resturants and bars lowered their prices in order to attract customers. I always gave my change to the waiter as a tip. The boat trips are are amazing but never got to Rhodes greece by boat for the day. i booked mine on Tripadvisor website and all was well. There is lots to do Quad biking is a must. Turkey is rebranded now and the country is now Türkiye this has put prices up a little due to the fall of the Lira. But go and you will find the people are great, The world is opening up and i am trying new places this year. Bulgaria, Tunisia and Bangladesh.
@@SEAWEEDER1 thanks bro
It is Marmaris
i was there in august what an amazing place and the smaller town of icmeler just down the coast. I also stayed in antalya in september
You can take a ferry from Marmaris to the Greek island of Rodos/Rhodes.
Thanks for showing us Mustafa Kemal. He was a true man. Visit him in Ankara, Anıtkabir - highly recommend, if you like to learn more about the true soul of this country.
I came I saw I like .
I was there in 1988. It looks beautiful off season, I probably would enjoy it very touristy now.
Hey Gabriel! I’m on my way to Marmaris at this very moment 😃 It’s a good time to be in Turkey I think, I enjoy it so much. I wonder where are you right now and where you’re headed next? :)
touristy is an understatement
having seen on your channel places like london, paris, amsterdam, monaco, goa, istanbul, athens, rome, las vegas, santorini, dubrovnik, matsu pitsu, mykonos, hawaii, mallorca, cairo, cannes, prague, swiss Alps, cappadocia, rhodes, corfu, dubai, taj mahal, rovaniemi and so many other famous tourist destinations, I am impressed that marmaris is one of the most touristy places you have been to.
I have heard it several times but I did not expect it to be as touristy as the other places I have seen on your channel.
I thought that bοdrum and antalya are more popular for summer vacations in turkey.
I visited Marmaris in 1995 our apartment was the furthest back and took 10 minutes to walk there. We didn't visit again untill about ten years ago when my sons friend asked us to stay with him whilst we were visiting Bodrum. We went by bus and as we came down the mountain road to Marmaris we were amazed to see the whole valley had been filled with hotels etc.We left our friends hotel saying we would walk to the harbour. After walking for ten minutes we decided to get on a bus,it took another 20 minutes to reach the seaside.Couldn,t believe how much it had grown, haven't been back as we prefer smaller places like Dalaman and Bitez.Love watching your travels.
Been there this summer :-)
A blessed good day Sir Gabe woww beautiful Hotel in your opening video and Beautiful places city of Masmaris Turkey nice grand bazaar shopping place.and Very stunning beach resort thank u so much again sir Gabe for your nice excellent walk around tour in Masmaris Turkey keep safe always Take Care and Godbless u 🇵🇭🇵🇭🙂🙂🙂🙂👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍👏👏👏 from your solid fan viewer Supporter from The Philippines sir vhin
I miss Turkey! I love marmaris ❤
The reason why there is a "It is forbidden to jump into the sea" sign there is because the sea does not get deep immediately and those parts are still very shallow. So if you try to dive you run the risk of hurting your neck or worse.^^
Safe travels man
have i been saying it wrong all my life marmaris ... cause thats not how i say it :D
5:34 yes that way goes to centre marmaris with bike road..best part of marmaris is on that way..dense pine trees and beach resorts there
..on the west side of Icmeler you'll find the village of Turunc, a lovely little quiet place.
Our family loves Marmaris we are going back in 2022
Gabriel, you are so smart and lucky to be outside of USA now. Don’t come back here soon, if you don’t need to. Safe travel, enjoy 😉
Jedna je Evropa
I can't believe how warm it still looks into November! My relatives in Italy said its getting chilly there already.
This was filmed a couple weeks ago. The weather changed in Turkey at the beginning of November and got noticeably colder when I was in Cappadocia.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos still possible to swim in Alanya
@@tomrox8921 when i was there in august it was roasting hot around 35-40.c
I prefer Cappadocia, but sometimes we've gotta switch it up a bit :D
I agree. There will be several more videos coming from Cappadocia.
Marmara -seashore; cappadocia -landscape.
Both are cool, but theres only one cappadocia in this world :D
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Love it!
@@pirateking8620 Marmaris is in the Aegean Region not Marmara
@@SkynetGeneralRight, thankyou for correcting. Marmara is an ocean I think??
It’s a great place, you can find a decent fry up in most places, there is even a fish and chip shop in most places. I sometimes struggle to get a decent cup of tea sometimes though
hello Gabriel, I'm thinking about Marmaris and Bodrum. After watching your videos, I still haven't come to a decision. Which of these areas would you prefer for a week's vacation? I mean relaxing on the beach and walking around including old town. Thanks for your channel.
I think there's more to do in and around Marmaris. But I spent more time there and had a car, so I saw more. You can't go wrong either way.
@@GabrielTravelerVideossounds great! thanks a lot for the answer Gabriel
btw yes u can walk from icmeler to marmaris along the coast and its a beautiful walk and well worth it
Sans graffiti!👍
We must have criss-crossed eachother 10 times in Turkey!! We were in almost every spot as you just before your videos came out. It was funny to watch. We love your content and hope to see you out there soon.
Turkey looks very modern, prosperous and clean. Not well known in the Americas. Probably Europeans know it well.
All those women in bikinis, I can't see the country becoming a fundamentalist regime any time soon.
Wearing a bikini doesn't make you modern 😂
I visited this city while in the Marine Corps back in 2000 and until now I’ve seen a total of zero people I know visit it lol. Glad my favorite travel RUclipsr broke that trend.
Go there every year with wife and kids absolute love it go there this October and starting to pay one of for next year to
@@tommylee8064 hey go to other places like bodrum, fethiye too they are worth seeing too
Cool beat music 10:50
Visit Aktash. It’s on the other side of Marmaris Bay. Unbelievable beautiful.
Slow down with the panning please, I'm getting dizzy! Otherwise, great travel locations as always.
Hi, I love your videos, you are the best traveler. I wish you to make a video of the New Zealand I miss that
Booking.com are opening up offices in Turkey. Hopefully this is a sign of an end with their dispute with the Turkish Government. I’m already seeing an increase in hotels available for Turkey on the app.
That's good to hear.
Looking at some of these shops I remember going into them and buying souvenirs and eating in some of places 👍
11:11 Rasta braids when, Gabriel?
Nothing can deter Gabriel! He is an honest companion.
Am I the only fan that is curious about his appetite? And I'm not referring to local cuisine. Shame on me! Maybe someday..?
So how does the superlatives rank? Ultra > Mega > Super ?
Yeah pretty much.
Hi from Siberia! Good job Gabe!
Very cool, I'd love to visit Siberia sometime. How's the weather lately, warm enough for enjoying those Arctic beaches?
@@GabrielTravelerVideos arctic shores much North than my town, I'm from Irkutsk sixty kilometers from Baikal Lake. Global warming is a real and now here is getting warmer weather than forty years ago, minus two to eighteen at night and about zero per day yesterday was pretty snowing, some problems became with traffic
@@ВладимирШангин-к9ф I see, good to know, thanks for the update!
Pretty. But I like that other nearby older town better. But the beach looks nice there.
Hi Gabriel, What an incredible tourist area in the U.S. it would be considered a tourist trap lots to do there and eat a bit overstimulating for the senses for anybody coming in.
Marmaris where you used to be able to get a full English breakfast for £1.00 (I'm going back 15 years or so)
I have never ever ever heard Marmaris pronounced that way 🤣
Gabriel, I was wondering could you please give some tips on car rental in Europe? I've noticed you use it quite often. Which companies do you prefer? Do you always take full insurance? Thanks in advance.
I like Sixt Rent a Car if possible as they've been very reliable and you can find them in a lot of places. Otherwise I just look around and check prices. Yeah go for the full insurance generally or maybe something with $500 or $1000 deductible depending on the price difference.
3:07 Irish pub alert. 4:17 Go on...have a trip in a Dolphin pedalo. Turkey is one of the world's biggest exporters of cherries, so there must be naturally growing cherry trees around there. Wikis says Marmaris has a population of 31,000 which grows to 400,000 during the tourist season. But it can hit 43C in the Summer. In 1801 a British force of 120 ships anchored in the bay.
Very nice but I don't understand that why diving is not allowed on Icmeler beach as the sea does not seems too much risky to dive.
Just so beautiful 👌🍝🍹
While your enjoying yourself over there your country is being riped apart
🔴 *SUPER* 👍
'atlamak yasaktir' means jumping prohibited (off this point)
Spent some time in marmaris and visited the bazaar and I purchased some clothing and leather belts reckon I got a good deal but I was puzzled by the stallholder placing the money on the floor to be picked up by an older man
I spent my entire childhood living here and im not gonna lie i got a little emotional after seeing and recognizing 80% of the places you recorded :)
Marmaris is heaven
Nice
Go to Ağrı and see Mt. Ararat...
Salam from Somalia @Gabriel traveler
Be safe wear your 😷 Safe Travels 👍
Was this taken before the earth quake? The Turkish Riviera is just like Greece, except is cheaper. I only spend less than 2 hours in Marmaris after arriving by speed ferry from Rhodes last July. I met a Turkish collage student in Rhodes, she helped me sorted out the bus station to Pamukkali since we were heading to the same direction, she also told me where to buy the 100% cotton Turkish towel. I met many Turkish college students last June since it was the beginning of the summer holiday, they all spoke English and were so friendly & helpful. After watching this, I am glad I choose to spend more time in Fethiye than here, since it has the Lycient Tombs vs just hotels here. Just FYI, there are speed ferry between Marmaris & Fethiye to Rhodes Island, you just have to go thru customs etc.
This was filmed before the earthquake. The ferries probably aren't running right now due to political tensions between Greece and Turkey.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos ferries are running now
@@SkynetGeneral Excellent.
ver nice, do they control everything related to corona?
nice
Gabe, did you try all three beds to find just the right comfort?
Haha, no I didn't want to mess up the other ones so I just picked one.
Sir what usually is the size of your file at the time of uploading? Please feed me with the knowledge.
Anywhere from five to twenty gigabytes.
So as you wander the streets talking to your camera, I wonder how ofter people wave you off and ask you not to film them? That has always been a problem for me. Small camera is less attention, for sure. Of course, you would never put that footage in your final product, but I am curious. I can often deescalate any problems and I see most people you approach a generally cool. Any incidents? Just wondering.
We don't care about cameras. People can do whatever they want to do :)
So you started from Oludeniz and went to Cappadocia and then returned to Marmaris?
No, the Cappadocia videos were out of order, that was actually at the end of my trip. There will be more Cappadocia vids coming later.
How much more for a hotel on the beach ? Just wondering !
How do you pronounce Marmaris?😂
Merhaba hayatım!I'm surprised you didn't go to the Marmaris Castle?🤔 now you know where I lived for 2 years.😉 yes in high season very touristy, all the Brits flock in hehe. Granted not much to see there but if you travel in the outer areas it's very nice or as they say in Turkish çok güzel! I personally love cozy cities in off season it's so tranquil. I'm glad your traveling spite the pandemic, there's so much beauty in Türkiye to take in, you really need to stay at least 1 year in each region to absorb it all. Also if you'd like to know correct pronunciation it's Marmar*is not Mar Mar *is✌ I gotta give it to ya Gabe, it's not easy pronouncing Turkish words but your pretty dang close, so kuddos to you. That sign at the beach said no jumping, the reason is, it's shallow and lots of rocks so could be dangerous. Happy you enjoyed this cool laid back city, now on to the next! Be careful until next time my friend. 🤗🇹🇷✌
Nice to hear
merhaba hayatım vay be !
