I've had some kind of on and off chronic Gastritis for like 4+ years now. PPI's and OTC meds were unhelpful. I also had an EGD (upper endoscopy) and the gastro doc tested biopsy samples for cancer and H. Pylori. Nothing. It was just really red and inflamed looking. I've been tested for all sorts of conditions including Multiple Myeloma, MS, Amyloidosis and all sorts of stuff. I also have POTS-like symptoms, potential MCAS symptoms and my tilt table test showed a neurocardiogenic response with a drop in blood pressure and pulse in response to 0.4mg sublingual nitroglycerin. Venous insufficiency in the legs at 41 years old (all of my jobs involved walking/standing all day), so blood also pools heavily in my feet, legs and oddly enough my hands for reasons that we can't figure out. Why would my gastritis last so long? At one point the gastro doc had me taking the PPI plus OTC acid reducers twice daily. No vomiting. Gastro doc also did a Colonoscopy at 41 years old and it was normal, even though I have horrific abdominal pain around and below the navel and even down to the bladder at times. Sometimes my stomach, intestines and bladder all feel inflamed. It's so annoying, I've seen so many doctors. Haven't seen any issues with liver/kidney function testing or blood work other than moderately low Vitamin D going back for a few years at least. Taking thousands of IU a day still doesn't bring it up.

I also have blood pooling in both hands and feet for 3 years now. Fast forward to last month after a&e visits and panic attacks and neurological symptoms I got endoscopy showed erosive gastritis.
Idk if it's from dysautonomia or what
You could also try sublingual or D shots to bypass the gut if you aren't absorbing it

@@frdsg8350 Have you been diagnosed for the blood pooling? Do you get a rapid heartbeat (tachycardia) when standing vs sitting? Could be a form of POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). I see a POTS doctor who is also familiar with other dysautonomias. You could also have possible MCAS (Mast Cell Activation Syndrome) which an allergist/immunologist would need to do blood testing for. I think they test for tryptase, if I remember correctly. MCAS can cause 'dumping' of histamine at 3 or 4am and I have awaken shaking all over as if in a blizzard, but I wasn't cold at all. Blood pressure fluctuations, palpitations and all sorts of stuff. Antihistamines can help with that if you do an online search for treatments. I use Zyrtec as needed because my doc believes I have it. My eyes also hurt a lot and are tender (we saw nystagmus on a VNG eye test, too)...so I'm on antihistamine eye drops that can be bought over the counter at the store (Systane Zaditor). People with MCAS commonly use them. My sleep is quite horrible, as well. I also take Prozac 40mg once a day because it's a mast cell stabilizer and it also helps with the bit of anxiety that dysautonomia causes.
Do you get chest pain when standing in place for too long? Discomfort in the legs?
There are venous ultrasounds that can be performed on the legs to see if you have venous reflux. Very quick and painless. Basically there are valves in the veins of your legs that work kind of like double doors of a store entrance and open/close as needed. They can malfunction over time, especially if you've worked a lot of jobs standing on your feet or sitting a lot. It causes the blood to whirl around the sides and basically go both directions, messing up blood flow back to the heart. This can cause heavy blood pooling in the feet, legs and also the hands since it can't get back to the heart properly.

@@user-tb2jy9lu3d I haven't been diagnosed, I won't see a neuro for 6 months as the wait in the UK is long. ( And they might not even know what pots is lol..)
I never used to get tachy with the bad pooling, but now with the gastritis I definitely do upon standing. Also weird head rush pounding feeling for 2 seconds.
My feet and calves buzz, especially after exercise like I feel the blood flowing. It hurts to stand on hard surfaces without shoes after a few seconds and I get leg pain that runs down my back left leg.
My sleep is terrible too. It used to be worse with panic jolts waking me up every hour fir weeks. So awful that once I woke and I've had tinnitus ever since. Now it doesn't but I just have broken shallow sleep usually bad dreams each night too.
I definitely have bad anxiety ( which everyone including doctors tell me is the cause) but I really think there's more to it. Maybe the gastritis messed up the vegus nerve? Or it is dysautonomia.
Anyway thank you all the things you suggested are interesting and useful and I will look into the leg scan and histamine

@@user-tb2jy9lu3d i did a long reply and youtube deleted it sigh
Not diagnosed yet its going to be 6 months till i see neuro (uk)
I do get tachy when standing up sometimes, only since the gastritis. Never noticed it when i just had the blood pooling for 3 years prior.
I had those night terrors. They were truly awful, traumatizing, in fact i have tinnitus from it from i tihnk the stress of being jolted awake 10 times a night. Thankfully thats gone but i still wake up 3/4 times per night .
I think my gastritis is effecting the vegus nerve. or vice versa.

why do u have to role out pregnancy to diagnose gastritis???

    • @gopikaunni532
      @gopikaunni532 3 года назад

      It's a physiological cause
      Pregnant women often has it
      That's the cause of gastritis
They can have Gerd tooo due to decreased lower orsophageal pressure
Pregnancy is a physiological condition prone to such conditions and there is no other underlying cause to treat and it would probably go after delivery only symptomatic relief is needed.
      Hopefully this helps u
