Great series! Adding to the story on rock bands…the best way to use them is against whichever rival civilizations have the most visiting tourists themselves. This way you get twice the value; on one hand, you increase your own tourism, and on the other, you proportionally reduce the tourism of your highest rival, which lowers the “cultural dominance” bar you have to clear to actually win the game.

These governors, world council and era score thingys are from a DLC or something? I started playing civ IV a couple days ago and couldn't find them in my game
Thanks for this series. Watched all three episodes because I failed at my first culture attempt. Looks like I was on the right track, just missed some key steps and learned some new tricks (like the search function one you found with Machu Pichu in the last episode).
One word… Prince It’s a good guide for King level and easier. Emperor levels and higher will certainly foil any attempts to solely concentrate on economy and infrastructure.
okay so i understand the whole appeal thing, but wouldnt it be easier or better even to skipp the whole appeal thing i.e. eifel tower planting woods etc. and jsut spam mines and productions and any improvments u want, and just get 2 or 3 holy sites from the additional production and 2 or 3 more wonders wouldnt that be a simmilar effect?
Tiles with high appeal increase tourism where as mines give the tiles negative appeal. Mine spam can be very good if you go for the stone circle or god of craftsmen pantheon, but I'd say both of those are better suited for a religious victory or a domination victory.
If I'm being honest, I'm not sure anybody really knows how culture victories fully work! It feels sometimes like it's hidden behind some tourist collection algorithm that you can't know.
He winning the game with cultural victory before the half of turns with 78/75: 😎👌🧐 Me, a new player going to turn 437 on a big map and winning with 617/615 cause Matthias don't stop to increase his national tourism: 🤡🤡 I don't know why Matthias was so broken on national tourism, the other 8 civs were below 250
Doesn't make sense why it needs faith and not culture but I see now my current play through is wrong. I may have 1500 culture but barely any tourism and 0 faith.
I keep winning cultural victories and I'm not even trying to. I'm just trying to put together sets of artwork into themes. Because I'm doing that, boom, another cultural victory. 😊

Lol Civ IV (4) is the wrong game mate. This is VI (6).
Otherwise I think governors were introduced in one the DLC's, same as era scores.

How important are wonders like Hermitage/Broadway/Bolshoi to games like these? Or is it best to just spam out rock bands and win that way?

@@VanBradley yeah it’s weird. Tourism is not like a yield or anything so it feels so different from other victories

How do you get a list of all leaders and their progress (top right)?
Head to the settings in game, click “preferences” head down to “show yields in HUD ribbon” and then click “always on” 👌
