      Chris Cope if I'm not Mistaking, these are leathers from Pakistan you can get off Ebay. I was looking into these when I had a Honda since I'm a Repsol garage fan. Great material and great price! The shoulder sliders gave it away for me. That's the sliders those generic brands use.

    • @gorillagirlgorilla
      @gorillagirlgorilla 6 лет назад +8

      @@cga9659 yea I've bought a pair a while back. The leather is top notch... A bit of an over kill with the quality of the hide but absolute protection. And they customized it for me to my size and logos.
      But make sure the seller had good reviews and NEVER buy Chinese leathers. Those are almost 100% of the time synthetic stuff.

      sliders saved my bike from being totaled when i was on a trip 5000km from home. could ride home safe and fix the damage for 500 dollars. instead of paying mechanics in a different country that would most likely rip me off.
      My radiator and engine would probably be fucked. but now only my slider and bar got scratched.
      was a slow crash btw. A fast one maybe would be better without sliders. Depends.

      Mike12r1 TV dont worry...if you keep going that fast on pavement you will go down,its just a matter of time...so you must ask yourself "whats the hurry?" and if its a need for speed(like i have) you should do it somewhere there is no speed limits and the public is out of the way...i ride out in the desert and if i see another bike i slow way down so we dont die...i say buy some track time and really cut loose or maybe like me buy a cheap plastic dirt bike and who cares when it falls down, i crash nearly every ride!,lol

    • @ZZZmrsssze
      @ZZZmrsssze 3 года назад +1

      I don't think that it was the reason, he was putting a lot of angle pressure and hard accelerating at same time, instead of break, cut acceleration, read the turn and accelerate once he was getting out of turn with less angle and more stability, even professionnal bikers break like crazy befor any turn, start reading it with stable acceleration " very gentle one " and once out of it they start get up and accelerate hard!

    • @m4rtin5
      @m4rtin5 11 лет назад +7

      The bike slided that long because it was supported by the left slider. You didn't even get to see that side so please don't talk about what you don't know. Frame sliders aren't only installed to protect the bike plastics. They also make some ground clearance when the bike is tipped so your leg don't get trapped under the bike.

    • @jsprite123

    Here in Portugal it´s mandatory that all corner guardrails have either another rail or a special metal sheet underneath, designed to prevent damages like those to the bikes and major injuries to the riders in case they slide under que top rail. This protection system should be mandatory everywhere all over the world.

    • @an50331
      @an50331 11 лет назад +13

      HarbingerOfAbaddon it's called personal responsibility. i wear full gear, but i don't think it should be a law. there have been a few times i rode my bike down the street to park without a helmet. i assumed the risk. i don't need a $500 "reminder" to tell me to protect myself

    • @Miata822
      @Miata822 11 лет назад +5

      an50331 You can't fully assume the risk of not wearing a helmet. States enact helmet laws for financial reasons. they know that those who survive traumatic head injuries have only about a 50% chance of supporting themselves again. the rest become a burden on the state. Do you have personal long term care insurance?

    • @kyogre6444
      @kyogre6444 11 лет назад +2

      Alberto Knox Yes, I have long term insurance.
      I'm not saying states should or shouldn't have helmet laws, I'm just pointing out that riders should always protect themselves, regardless of the law. I witnessed a fatal motorcycle accident when a driver pulled in front of a motorcycle travelling at 45mph. The rider wasn't wearing protective gear helmet and died when he hit the ground. On the other hand, a old friend of my family's was involved in an accident at 60mph when he clipped a doghouse on his motorcycle and was knocked off, but he walked away with only minor injuries because he was wearing protective gear.

    Shame :(
    The reason the Fireblade didn't start is it has an electronic device in the nose cone that detects an extreme lean angle (something like 75 degrees tilt).
    If it's too far over then it'll cut the engine automatically.
    With the nose cone smashed, the device was hanging which is why it wouldn't start even after the bike was back on it's wheels

    • @blueisbetter100
      @blueisbetter100 8 лет назад +10

      Well, this video is kind of a bad example.
      In other cases the sliders can protect, especially your engine, from getting totally destroyed by ripping of the engine caps...
      It totally depents on the crashing situation and place

    • @kovrcek
      @kovrcek 8 лет назад

      +Kid574 I think it depends a lot on the material. If they are made of something that just glides over asphalt then this happens.

    • @mozarth
      @mozarth 8 лет назад +7

      +Kid574 Damage in here is actually not as bad as you think. It's plastics, cowl and a light assembly if the fork's fine. Get multi compound sliders if you're scared of endless sliding.
      I lowsided my r1 in a relatively lower speed and dropped it in a parking lot. All I had was just a few scratches on the end of the brake lever, footpeg and on the side of the rear tire. Take it from that point, they saved me 2 times from a fairing replacement.

    seems like no matter where you crash, your bike just have to crash into those guard rails. Wonder if those guard rails are made from magnets

      Or motorcycles are made of magnets

    • @socko5708

      akupehsluarketatAR Something cant be made out of magnets lol
      The material can be magnetic, but a magnet isnt a magnet.. A magnet is just some material that is magnetic, big difference

    Just want to point out that this guy is not a squid by any stretch of the imagination. He is just a guy who mad a mistake like every human being does. I am pretty sure the definition of a squid would include things like unsafe wheels, and passing as well as wearing only a leather vest for gear.

    • @niinuetey9878
      @niinuetey9878 4 года назад +1

      Squid, because it happened on public road. Top riders of motogp crash all the time at the tracks. Once you get on two wheels, you are expected to crash at some point.

    • @B..P..

      @@niinuetey9878 Going 300 km/h on a motogp bike is one thing.
      Riding on a public road while making a silly mistake like accelarating on a bend is another.
      Basic riding fundomentals = brake....turn....gently open the throttle.

    Had similar crash.. still wondering if its the front tire that lost traction or rear? The rear tire was bad so I'd assume that is the problem but really looks like a front end lowside except the increasing revs.

  • @benriding8678

    WTF? Listen to the engine rev as he was in the turn. Sounds like he was giving it too much throttle too soon & not upon exiting the apex but before the apex of that curve?

    There is a G sensor that kills ignition after a bike falls. It's intended to prevent fire. If I'm incorrect please let me know.

    • @29Hazard
      @29Hazard 11 лет назад

      Guard rail is made of steel and most of the bikes that crash into it are aluminum & plastic. So, the outcome is pretty predictable.
      P.S. I don't think those people were trying to ram that thing. Otherwise it must've been renewed every week.

    He got away very lightly in fact. If a car or bike, or worse, a cyclist, was coming up around that corner they too would have been involved, injured or worse. I am so surprised the local authorities haven't shut all that down. That Nickey Mouse is laughing all the way to the bank. I love his half attempt to show concern for the rider's bike while looking around for the next spill to come.
