  • Train descriptions in video. An afternoon and early evening in Anoka yielded plenty of trains for the time me and Brandon (UnionPacific6807) were there. This part features 3 trains, and catches include a BNSF H1 SW1500 and ex-BN GP50 DIT and a FCAX SW1 in the first train being towed DIT back to North Dakota.
Nice crews on the coal train (extended last long) and G-MINNTW1 (3 extra blasts, one by us and 2 farther down)!!!!

I was just there today. As long as the horns are allowed in Anoka I might go there more often.

@BNSF9187 That's good. I love the sound of a train horn. And trains don't come by all day on the UP tracks that go through Oakdale or the CP tracks that go through White Bear Lake so I thought I'd try Anoka & saw 2 trains although had to wait over an hour for the first.

@MNsportsnut Cool. I am actually going railfanning on this line around Big Lake/Elk River next week.

@MNsportsnut There are no plans to my knowledge to make Anoka a Quiet Zone. Don't think it will for a while at least.
