- We rode the scenic Bernina Express Train in the Switzerland Alps, with a stop in Preda, Switzerland for some winter fun and sledding.
We're Colton and Nikki, husband and wife, who didn't want to settle into the "default lifestyle" and decided to go on a great adventure. After saving for a year and a half, quitting our jobs, selling all of our stuff, and buying a one-way ticket, we're traveling the world to go beyond the norm. Great video! This looked like so much fun. We are looking at going in mid-December. Hopefully the sledding slopes will be open.
During the summer, after arriving in Tirano with the Bernina Express, it is possible to continue towards Lugano with a red Rhaetian Railway bus. It is included in the price of the Eurail pass, Interrail pass, Swiss Travel Pass and similar. Only seat reservation, mandatory, is not included. The Tirano railway station of the Rhaetian railway, although it is in Italy, is considered Swiss territory, therefore Swiss VAT applies to tickets, souvenirs etc. sold at the counter. Luggage shipped from Switzerland to Tirano is not subject to customs declaration.
