LOOk kids! An actual talented singer-songwriter playing and instrument and singing without auto-tune! And an acoustic version of a GREAT grammy nominated song HE WROTE! Amaze balls!
Well, there you go. Another great pure acoustic performance of a song that was first released with a full band treatment. It's as though every RA song can be delivered either way, and still present POWER.
Yeah, he is the king of that. Was just listening to three different versions of 'Desire:' the album version, acoustic/Live Deaf version (amazing) and the BBC Cardinals version. Each one is so rad.
Interesting to see how the price for Harmony Sovereigns have gone haywire. Yes they were always good...look at old Pete Townshend pics. But holy moly older folks have been running to their spare room closets hoping it's "one of those." Not just for Buck Owens anymore.
fantastic song!!! a coverband played it last night at a bar and that's how I found about it. :) but why is Pat Smear's guitar up there next to Ryan? ;)
great acoustic rendition i prefer this one to original based on soul delivered in the performance alone ....even the Wonderwall cover n nutshell covers seem like overzealous attempts at first ,but thekids got soul n makes them work everytime the guy down there who said he wont be remembered in 50 years must not be a fan bcuz i can list 12 or so tracks of his that will stay personal favorites for the rest of my life and mean alot to me .....exactly the effect of real music ,that cannot be achieved from soulless manufacturedforProfit-commercial autotunegarbage ,in my opinion .....i remember Adams bitching in Rolling Stone early 2000s ,about "not being as famous as he thought he should be" .... and i completely understood where he was coming from .
He's a talented dude and I don't mind some of his stuff, but he looks like such a setup phony. Wearing a black flag shirt and a jean jacket that looks like he stole from a 14 year old. His ridiculous hair. It seems like his whole career is based 100 percent on ambition and being prolific. He tried his hardest everyday, and managed some success. Not sure if in 50 years anyone will even know who this guy is.
Except for the fact that he has been a huge influence on the indie music scene ....... He's crazy, yes. But he's one of the most influential indie musicians of our time. He's produced albums for FOB and Willie Nelson and collaborated with countless others. His songwriting is pretty prolific... I think a lot of people will still know who Ryan Adams is in fifty years. Find a genre other than rap that he hasn't influenced.
Who gives a shit? What would be the alternative? To dress like a conventional human? He is immensely talented either way you look at it and looks like a bad ass just like anybody has the liberty to do. You say it seems like "his whole career is based 100 percent on ambition and being prolific," yet I personally don't exactly see a problem with that. Ryan Adams makes great music and dresses like his music sounds... hmmmm.... maybe there is some correlation?
***** Who cares what he's wearing? Why does someone have to dress a certain way to play a certain type of music? I know a lot of musicians who are fans of a different genre than what they play, but they play to their strengths. Adams has made it know for the past 20 years that he's a die-hard fan of the late '80s and early '90s punk, new wave and metal scenes. Bands like Black Flag, Husker Du, Slayer and The Smiths are some of his favorites. But why try to emulate that music if you're good at something else? He's just being who he is. He's quirky and talented enough not to care how he looks.
Ok- Shitstorm to begin - everyone is entitled to their opinion and mine is that the assholes that are putting him down don't know SHIT about how much music he has created, in all genres.Have you geniuses even bothered to listen to his older stuff as well as the newest tunes? As far as his look, he dresses how he wants - don't we all? He definitely does NOT look like a 13-year old and a lot of women just happen to love his look, including me. He's effin awesome, still relevant, current and oh yeah.. nominated for THREE Grammys this year.. Hmmm.. he just had lunch with Elton the other day too,.. has his own studio and produces himself and others, but hey, he hasn't accomplished anything, right? He's self taught and plays guitar, piano and harmonica and not half-assed, either, full on talent. The music speaks for itself - why don't you try listening to some of it instead of just a few songs? He's quirky but that's part of his charisma and he just is what he is. It's not an act. He doesn't give a shit what people, he stays true to himself. Tired of idiots that don't know what he's accomplished to put him down all the time. If you don't like him, quit ranting on YT. Effin trolls.

And without all the reverb they now put on EVERYTHING.
Insanely talented. What a hell of a body of work. Ryan's the REAL DEAL.

Ryan is a super talented guy, in my opinion, a true "underground" guy to most people, does not get the credit he deserves, I wish I knew him!
So awesome that the same song can sound completely different. Love it.
Ryan can take one of his songs and make it sound different every time.
Yeah, he is the king of that. Was just listening to three different versions of 'Desire:' the album version, acoustic/Live Deaf version (amazing) and the BBC Cardinals version. Each one is so rad.
Talented beyond words
Studio version is very Tom Petty. This is very Neil Young.
+Patrick Hawkinson spot on
Love this. Broke my thumb tonight-this on repeat helped ❤️
As breathtaking as always, Mr. Adams. And, hey, that sweet black flag t-shirt, man, ha. Gotta love this man.
We're always tuning into Ryan at the shop...
Majestic. Just awesome
Superb as that word can be
I am so happy I found this again. This is just a dynamite
If I am a stranger acoustic is awesome

Phenomenal
Awesome but I still love the old Ryan Adams in whiskey town 💪💪😎😎
Just as good as the full band version..would have expected a better vocal sound off that U87
fantastic song!!! a coverband played it last night at a bar and that's how I found about it. :) but why is Pat Smear's guitar up there next to Ryan? ;)
+cocoshusse maybe because it's Buck Owens' guitar
Back when the CBS soundman didn't drown everything in reverb...

This is just very Ryan Adams
I can’t tell if he straightens the front of his hair or messes up the back
Anyone know what guitar our man is using here?
Harmony Sovereign H1264
Id like to hold his towel
not neil young
seriously, he got a grammy for this? wake me up when its over.
Seems likes Kanye's mentality. Oh, I don't like this, must be lousy.
Dude has clearly been listening to the black keys here

I was responding to the comment of "Not sure if in 50 years anyone will even know who this guy is."
