As a r6 animator I say r6 is much better than r15 and it is not only because its simplicity is elegant, but it has so much oppurtunities and looks more like roblox, and everyone will like it, it is the best rig because we don't just rotate it, but we can move it, and it is much better, as lots of good animation games as "the strongest battlegrounds" and "Chains" has r6, so r6 is really good, but you are right that r15 is for more detail, but I prefer r6 better.

as someone new to roblox, I find it very annoying when I join a game and I'm the old R6 avatar because roblox should let the player *set an R6 fallback avatar* my avatar looks really bad when it is forced into the R6 since it is fully set up for R15. what I think roblox should do is, in the avatar customizer, let you toggle between R15 and R6, as it already does, but it isn't replacing one or the other, you just set what you want your avatar to be in these modes. so toggle it to R6, set up how you want to look in R6 games, then toggle to R15 and set up your "normal" avatar how you want to look in R15 games.
The default R15 animations honestly just look weird on anything other than Rthro if you pay attention. I really don't like all these holes in the character and parts clipping through eachother. It looks especially bad on square avatars
I like R15 better. It is easier to rescale and customize, and the animations made for it can be as realistic as you want and its just easier to achieve more complex poses using it
The only reason I use R6 is because if I try making the body visible in first person and walk the hands go in the freaking camera because of the animation and I am too lazy to change it.

Yeah like the majority of the course is scripting and features stuff like data storing, functions, beginner stuff, gui, animations, etc. It’s just videos but there are built in quizzes you can do and I also have all of the assets in the course that you can download

It’s probably because of investments, the more money ROBLOX has, the higher their taxes, so the more they lose in taxes, so instead, they blow as much money as possible on making the game look attractive to investors, because the money they have in investments doesn’t fully legally count as company owned, therefore, they only can be taxed by it when they cash it in, which they do when they need money, so they have most of their money stored in stock investors, and they won’t invest unless the game looks somewhat futuristic, the more realistic the avatars, the better for investors, ROBLOX lost their goal I think though. It started with a real-time physics engine, nothing was pre calculated or anything, it was really cool, then, a 3d physics engine, they were nearly impossible for real-time physics, then, they made real-time light, most games pre-baked lighting, essentially, it was an online interactive game where everything was simulated in real time, it was revolutionary, R15 being defaulted just moved ROBLOX away from their goal, which was to revolutionise gaming and be fully real-time and fully simulated. I prefer R6 for my game, because i make auras with animations, and i struggle with R6 animation, can't even imagine animations for R15. But if i could make smooth animations for R15 i'd definitely use it, cuz it adds more customization to the game, and more detailed or advanced animations to game.

I would be really mad if they removed R6 or automatically converted it to R15 using only the upper limbs for animations like you said, and Rigs like those do actually exist already and are being experimented with. As an animator R6 rigs are much better they allow for more fluid movements to be made in a shorter amount of time and IMO look better
