Sherman had as many INTs in his 3rd year than Revis has in his whole career. And they barely threw it to him. After that year they straight avoided him. You dont have to be a Seahawks fan to acknowledge one of the best. Even the years where they lost all their defense he was still top tier outside of Injury. His INTs went down but his effectiveness didnt. If you are gonna call out Seahawks fans then dont be an idiot by showing yourself as fairweather fan that doesnt know what he is talking about when judging a player.

Both are amazing players, both will end up in the HOF. If you prefer corners who can man up, good for you. Some guys like to play zone. For those guys, Sherman is the man.

Cromartie is sorta wrong. Coaches put as much on your plate as they believe you can handle. Case in point, New England USED TO BE a man coverage defense...then Ty Law left. They switched to a mix of both zone and man because the DBs weren't up to par. Revis came, back to man. Revis left, back to zone. Gilmore came and he couldn't for the life of him play zone, so now we're back to playing man to man.
They still played a lot of man with Butler. Butler had a down year in 2017 but because of 1 down year people forget he was a pro bowler in 2015 and then followed that up with 2nd team All Pro in 2016 and that was almost always man coverage. But you’re right that they change the scheme based on what they got, since 2014 though they have always had a great number 1 man corner.

Let’s be real Revis and Sherman are 2 of the best corners from the last decade. You could make the argument for Patrick Peterson as well, but both Sherman and Revis are/were great. Revis traveled with the number 1 receiver 90 percent of the time. Although Revis did play more zone coverage than you would think. Sherman has played mostly in a Cover 3 system his entire career. There’s also times where he plays man to man, and even travels with receivers. In Seattle he traveled with Antonio Brown, AJ Green, etc. Since joining the 49ers, Sherman has been for the most part, left on the defenses left side (QBs right side) but has been locking down his cover 3 zone 🤷♂️Both are great, just different

I swear I’ve been saying this for years lmao, but listen it’s really as simple as this, following the best receiver is the toughest task you can ask a corner to do, most of the time Sherman doesn’t do that, but that’s no excuse to take anything away from him. " Man " coverage is a completely different level of capabilities and athletic genius when compared to "zone" coverage. so it does matter as a "Man" cover corner, Deion Sanders is the only cornerback that u didn't know if he was playing man or zone u just did not throw it anywhere near his side of the field/ or deep. Revis is the best 1-1 man cover corner 2nd to only Neon Deion. R.Sherman is not near these 2 at any point - prime of career or as a whole, the levels of actual talent are different. R. Sherman is as intelligent at the position, but his physical capabilities do not compare to Deion, and are at least subpar to Revis. IMO, I mean we talking best ever and eyes generally don't lie Deion was a game changer and controlled the offensive scheme as a corner and punished u with a pick six if u decided to challenge him. 1 of a kind not even close best ever to do it
And it seems you missed watching some of Sherman's games where they put him on an island against the best WRs and he shut them down. Also in his 3rd year he had as many INTs as Revis had his entire career. There is a reason QBs ignore throwing the ball his direction. His stats since his 3rd year have dropped completely but was rarely ever targeted and still only allowed 44% completion rate from QBs in his "decline". Sherman is in the same league whether you want to believe it or not.
