Holoparasite can still be quite strong for carefully players being stealthy, but all that goes out the window the second security gets involved. I will say that I once got double teamed by a holo and it's host as RD, they killed me at the bottom of my department, stole my hardsuit, and disappeared into the the maintenance tunnels long before anyone noticed me. So a holo fighting in sync with it's host is very good.
Oh yeah they still got use, but for 14 tc, being bugged makes it a tough purchase. Biggest element they got is they make it so you don't have to worry about getting cuffed.
@@Liltenhead The biggest problem I see is you are spending 15 TC for a ghost to fuck you over. I do like that the owner has more control over the holopara compared to SS13, but all it has to do is talk and refuse to fight or be bad at it and you're done. for that much TC, I'd like to give it an ability like you can in SS13, like to be able to knock down walls, ghost around the station to spy for you, turn objects into bombs, temporarily stop time, or heal you.

Yesterday I brought a sentient monkey into maints and gave it a holo. It somehow got arrested and the station ended up being chill with it, even though it attacked multiple people.
I remember one of my rounds in TGstation at SS13, i got a dusty shard as a miner at lavaland, the dusty shard its a item that can spawn in a necro chest at lavaland so its fairly uncommon-common, when shit was going on the station i was with already some rare artifacts like the shadow katana and some other stuff so we gone there we tried to do what we can with the syndi dudes and other guys and we gone back to lavaland. After that we found a syndi base at the lava lake so we decided to get a chest and get a charonte boat so we could go over the lava with it, when we were breaking the doors to get inside an ash storm started and i died
I never was so sure about buying one once, because it's hella expensive and didn't know about it too much. And yeah it's very rare someone uses it. Thanks for the explanation!
Yeah, bugged expensive item where the item itself can end you entire run almost instantly. It's no real surprise you only really see it in surplus bundles sadly.
14 tc for a barebones version feels a bit to much, tg has like 11 classes for it. The gassous one is fun one, it can emmit a singluar gas type at the time. and sligthly replaces + spread it. Also your punches spark. I think it had access to O2, Co2, N2o, plasma, bz and H2o. On tg it also it has a mindlink chat, which is only between the host and parasite. 100% private. I do think that should become a upcomming feature atleast, since its a team job after all.
@@Koontzryan its a ss13 server, several in fact. and also has allot of branching servers downstream. the more baseline of predecesor servers compared to what ss14 has to rebuild.

I have actually given a holoparasite to another person before! I was a Mime turned into a syndicate agent by an admeme (without a choice) and I wasn't feeling up to playing a tator tot that shift so I befriended a Security Officer, dragged them into the bathrooms and forcibly injected them with it. Despite being a shift start Officer who couldn't possibly be a syndicate some of the crew later lynched the poor sod. I had a terribly fun time watching the would be station saviors get lynched in turn for the murder of the nice Officer, who had apparently made a few well armed friends that shift.
give holoparasite telepathic comm, give it an ability that lets it do the ORAORAORA punches like in jojo, give it more space to move around the host, and fix the damage bug!
If it was slightly cheaper or you could toggle the ability of the Holo to speak, might see it picked more often. The few times I've seen and purchased Holo, it always gets discovered because of the Holo whisperering/talking.
They need to add different forms and looks for holoparasites to manifest. Since they already added a Jojo reference with Jotaro's hat they could go the extra mile to add holoparasite users in command or the church.
That could be really cool as an event type thing. Maybe one active holoparasite could over time trigger a randomly selected few to manifest holoparasites as well regardless of syndie or not.
I've always wanted to use one of these but the price is so not worth it for something that you can't even control let alone communicate with effectively.

Does someone know if holoparasite injectors can be found on syndicate salvage wreck? A college salv found the term and condition once and got in lot of trouble with sec.
doesnt seem to me that the fact you take damage from projectiles is a bug. it says that the parasite is the one that is immune not the host. the host takes damage the parasite doesnt.
Back in the day you could beat up your own owner so If you didnt call out your holo when the holo said so you would die because they would beat you up like an idiot which admemes would do nothing about am suprised they fixed it guess I'll use this more.
They should make it so the holo can psychically talk to the owner I think

That's a high cost but I'd probably buy Holo just to give it to someone else.

Holoparasie is strong, but if this role is taken by a player who is not responsible for the game. It will just be 14 TK wasted.

Well that isn't true either, holos do take bullet damage. Either way, I changed the description and reduced how much damage is shared.
