"I shall not let distractions bother me, I will reform I will not let evil take over my body, I will conform I am powerful that earth's mightiest force For when I reform my ways and believe in thy lord" Reform Prayer
0:00 VERSE 1 Here is love vast as the ocean Loving-kindness as the flood When the Prince of Life, our ransom Shed for us His precious blood Who His love will not remember? Who can cease to sing His praise? He can never be forgotten Throughout heav’n’s eternal days 0:54 VERSE 2 On the Mount of Crucifixion, Fountains opened deep and wide; Through the flood-gates of God’s mercy Flowed a vast and gracious tide. Grace and love like mighty rivers Poured incessant from above Heaven’s peace and perfect justice Kissed a guilty world in love 1:43 VERSE 3 Here is love that conquered evil Christ, the firstborn from the grave Death has failed to be found equal To the life of Him Who saves In the valley of our darkness Dawned His everlasting light Perfect love in glorious radiance Has repelled death’s hellish night 2:30 VERSE 4 That same love beyond all measure Mocked and slain by hateful men Lives and reigns in resurrection And can never die again Here is love for all the ages Radiant Sun of Heav’n He stands Calling home His Father’s children Holding forth His wounded hands 3:18 VERSE 5 Here is love, vast as the heavens Countless as the stars above Are the souls that He has ransomed Precious daughters, treasured sons We are called to feast forever On a love beyond our time Glorious Father, Son, and Spirit Now with man are intertwined
This melody is so simple, yet so deep and so profound. It is so catchy it makes you want to keep on singing it endlessly -- till Jesus comes to take us home so that the singing is carried along with us into Heaven, to be taken over by the Angelic choir! The simplicity of the melody allows also for an endless addition of lyrics, all to the glory of Him the song is about. Hence, the many additional lyrics we see in this version. But, though the melody is simple, the lyrics -- original and added -- have a profoundness that perfectly matches the theme of the song. If there's a song I would like to hear sung in Heaven one day, it would be THIS one! No wonder the Welsh version played a key role in the Welsh Revival! And I believe it has the potential of bringing Revival anywhere and everywhere it's sung under the anointing of the Holy Spirit.
It pains me to turn my attention from the marvelous lyrics of this ancient hymn, but in order to settle a debate here with my musical wife, I would like to know if there is a bass guitar in the background, or as I maintain, it is just very good piano playing. Can anyone address this question? And while you are responding, I will turn back to the thrill and chills of the heavenly lyrics of this wonderful, wonderful song!
I don’t hear any bass guitar. The low notes are reverberated much more like piano strings than guitar strings. All these ‘live T4G’ songs are Bob Kauflin playing piano and singing lead with a few thousand (mostly) men singing along in some degree of harmony. You can search Kauflin’s blog for a little detail on how he arranged the songs each year.
Glorious!
Hallelujah!
Thirteen poor souls didn’t like this song. I listened twice.
I shall never understand, even in Heaven - why the Lord Jesus should ever have loved me!
-C.H. Spurgeon
Lord do it again

0:00 VERSE 1
Here is love vast as the ocean
Loving-kindness as the flood
When the Prince of Life, our ransom
Shed for us His precious blood
Who His love will not remember?
Who can cease to sing His praise?
He can never be forgotten
Throughout heav’n’s eternal days
0:54 VERSE 2
On the Mount of Crucifixion,
Fountains opened deep and wide;
Through the flood-gates of God’s mercy
Flowed a vast and gracious tide.
Grace and love like mighty rivers
Poured incessant from above
Heaven’s peace and perfect justice
Kissed a guilty world in love
1:43 VERSE 3
Here is love that conquered evil
Christ, the firstborn from the grave
Death has failed to be found equal
To the life of Him Who saves
In the valley of our darkness
Dawned His everlasting light
Perfect love in glorious radiance
Has repelled death’s hellish night
2:30 VERSE 4
That same love beyond all measure
Mocked and slain by hateful men
Lives and reigns in resurrection
And can never die again
Here is love for all the ages
Radiant Sun of Heav’n He stands
Calling home His Father’s children
Holding forth His wounded hands
3:18 VERSE 5
Here is love, vast as the heavens
Countless as the stars above
Are the souls that He has ransomed
Precious daughters, treasured sons
We are called to feast forever
On a love beyond our time
Glorious Father, Son, and Spirit
Now with man are intertwined
Thank you so much for the lyrics!
Wow! Love it with the extra verses, they go so well together..
Wow. That was so beautiful it let me to tears!

This is so beautiful ♥️
The famous Welsh Revival hymn! Except I didn't realize that the music had been written by Robert Lowry.
sung by annie Davies. evan Roberts led the congregation as well

Agree w/ Stephen, that's some nice piano playing on a very nice sounding REAL piano, that's been tuned well. Beautiful.
sounds like Piano to me
btw this is not the original lyrics. this song was sung in wales during the welsh revival. 1904 anyhow i also love this version
