- Buying a used mountain bike is a great way to get started in the sport (lifestyle!), find great deals on bikes that are otherwise too expensive, or find that perfect bike that fits your budget! I've found Pinkbike.com to be an awesome resource for everything mountain biking! Plus PB makes hundreds if not thousands of great bikes available where as they may be hard to find / purchase otherwise. If you're in the market for a used bike, let's find the best fit for your budget!!!

Great video, I was just wondering if you could explain the process of buying a bike on pink bike. For example when do I pay? How do I make sure they even sent the bike? And how does the person shipping the bike get the box from bike flights? Thank You!

@@ShaneScrimager may I know as a buyer how to protect ourselves? Like how to use PayPal or Venmo to secure we will have the bike instead of being scammed. Basically pretty the same problem as Carson asked.
@@BowenSpace absolutely. there are a few things you can do to protect yourself and make sure it's a the right bike at the right price. 1- the seller: ask the seller questions about when the bike was serviced, how hard do you ride, what needs attention, why are you selling. the answers are for you to review but the seller communication is what is really important. always ask for more photos if needed. ask if you may call the sellers bike shop where they take the bike. look up that number and make sure it's a real bike shop. 2 - shipping: how do they plan to ship the bike? if they don't mention ship bikes or bike flights etc, they haven't shipped a bike or they don't know that it's going to be hundreds to ship it. ship bikes and bike flights have tutorials on how to disassemble and pack bikes. always make sure the bike is insured at value your paying. 3 - payment: i prefer paypal. with all the above information you have a darn good case to file and paypal is very good at seeing it through. i'm sure this is in place for venmo as well, i don't use venmo for big purchases. make sure it's for goods and services and add a note of what you are expecting. you can copy paste the sellers listing. do not send as a gift or anything else. i've let some bikes go that looked like a really good deal, the seller just wasn't answering questions. i've sold 5 bikes and bought 5 bikes now from PB. i always make sure the buyer is comfortable and knows the details of what they are purchasing. hope that helps!
@@ShaneScrimager Thanks a lot for your help! I just made my first purchase of a used gravel bike. And I am now looking forward to see the bike comes! I use your method to talk with the seller and find he can reply very fluently. I also scheduled a video call to see the bike condition. And use the paypal goods and service to send the money. Really thanks for your help. I was so worried about buying a used bike online instead a local pick up.

i can help, pretty good about figuring the value / use. make sure to use paypal or venmo. if they send you a heap, you can dispute it / ship back / get a refund.
