    Luke 7:1-10 CSB
When he had concluded saying all this to the people who were listening, he entered Capernaum. 2 A centurion’s servant, who was highly valued by him, was sick and about to die. 3 When the centurion heard about Jesus, he sent some Jewish elders to him, requesting him to come and save the life of his servant. 4 When they reached Jesus, they pleaded with him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy for you to grant this, 5 because he loves our nation and has built us a synagogue.”
6 Jesus went with them, and when he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends to tell him, “Lord, don’t trouble yourself, since I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. 7 That is why I didn’t even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed., 8 For I too am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under my command. I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”
9 Jesus heard this and was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, “I tell you, I have not found so great a faith even in Israel.” 10 When those who had been sent returned to the house, they found the servant in good health.
Branch Together brings Christians together to read the Bible every day. We know as Christians that we are called to "branch out" and reach the world around us, but first we must come "together" and develop habits that help us grow to be more like the people Jesus is calling us to be. So before we Branch Out, we Branch Together. Some people might call this Daily Devotions, or Quiet Time...whatever you call it, our videos kickstart your most important daily habit.
In addition to starting your day with Scripture, we create videos to help you study, memorize and worship.
BT is run by a couple churches working together in Red Bank, NJ. (Branch Church - branchchurch.org and First Baptist Church - fbcredbank.com)
Scripture quotations have been taken from the New Revised Standard Version, or the Christian Standard Bible.

Thank you Brother, so liked what you said about showing up and as I did that in listening in to you for example, I am encouraged in my prayer for the direction at this time in my life that I'm so depending on.
As I wait for the Lord without Whom I'm a boat without rudder....i believe He'll guide me to navigate through.

Of the three points you list, I totally agree with you about your point #1 - Dependence. This is brilliant, particularly as you contextualize this concept within our society's prevalent and mostly differing set of perceptions. As to your point #2, definitely humility is a valuable factor there, but in some relation to this, both literally and symbolically, the centurion likely was himself sick also, has likely had diarrhea at that point, and felt embarrassed to allow for the Teacher to advance into his quarters. As to your point #3, I would call it precisely Faith rather than confidence, because it is the centurion's faith in the idea that his servant's and his ailments can be healed that makes him summon forces beyond himsef, while also allowing him to regret his wrongdoings (i.e. repentance) and forgive himself as well as others (i.e. mercy) - all the important elements in the healing process.

Thanks for your input Sasha. All interesting thoughts. Regarding Faith, yes, that is an appropriate word. But to describe Faith, we try to use other terms to help see the range of meaning that the word faith has. Appreciate the input.

@@BranchTogether Thank you for your feedback that I appreciate. By faith in that instance I meant a not necessarily rational belief in the possibility of healing. When people go to see doctors these days, they don't necessarily have a medical or life sciences degree to understand how a doctor may help them, but their belief in the idea that their ailments can be healed by another person compels them to act in seeking help, as opposed to not acting at all.

I like the way you speak and layout the themes that are displayed in the verses but when you speak about God and His name, the true name that should be used is YAHSHUA HAMASHIACH because this was the name given by God. Not the man made name Jesus.

Does God look at our words or our hearts?
