Despite it's reputation Heretic is actually the most interesting and ballzy of all the Exorcist sequels and rip offs that followed Friedkin's masterpiece.
Not sure if true but I've read that the final release was desperately rejiggered after the studio went apeshit upon viewing the director's FIRST finished cut.
If true, can you imagine what THAT must've looked like? Can your mind fathom that THIS disaster was the best possible repair job? I can't.
This film can only be explained as the product of heavy hallucinogen usage by many of those involved.

The element of parallel horror and dancing (Heretic 2, Suspiria, for example) is a running theme indicating the arts are satanic.
Cool scene ! I seen it quite awhile ago & didn't like it much . Exorcist 3. With George C Scott is totally Awesome . Thanks . Used to Linda Blair at monsterpalooza almost every year . Always had a long line for signing . Never had the money but she waved back at me once . A Queen of horror & an attractive woman
Agree! 3 is definitely better than 2. Would like to have seen Linda too.

Yep, she played Regan in both 1 and 2. Much more successfully in 1, though!

Good thing you don't claim any rights to the movie - it was terrible. Linda Blair held her own in the Exorcist. but by my reckoning, she never did any good acting after that. I'm really surprised that Burton associated himself with this stinker.
It's definitely one of the worst sequels to a classic ever made!
@@porflepopnecker4376 Exorcist 2: The Heretic isn't actually one of the worse sequels, I find this movie to be fantastic. Linda Blair returning as Regan was twistedly unexpected, but I went along with it, same for Kitty Winn's role of Sharon. Karen Knapp's voice for the demon was pure terror
