the features of the 5800 is absolutely better than the 5530, but it's great that I don't need those features. I just got the 5530 yesterday and I already love it. The battery life is shorter than 5800, but it's fine for me. The 5530 design is just great.

I have 5800. I also used the 5530 of my friend. They're pretty much the same, and also, about the texting bit, my 5800 automatically turns to QWERTY when I rotate it.. There's a setting that can be done for this, just to point that out. Yet, for typing, I preferred the 5530 as it is a bit slimmer. 5800 has louder speakers when I compared them with the same songs, yet many people seem to complain about the 5530 jamming alot... 5800 is better :)

just returned the 5530, it's a nice designed phone, but the screen is very small to touch with, instead ordered new 5580 Navigation edition, it's the only way to go!
check out nokia's website in your country. click on support then look for your phone model. I really don't consider changing product code since harwdares are made from different places in the world thus, having differently mapped OS. changing product code like others do to get the V40 firmware is risky, and valid the warranty. plus causes bugs. Try going to your nearest noki care center. and ask for a firmware upgrade.
Why the heck didn't you update the firmware? Newest update is v50.005 It is a version that has fixed all of those problems. So update both and then compare again. Then you can truly compare. And also the updates of the 5800 have made the camera quality on it almost twice as good as the original. So update both.
i still love my 5800 this thing is for budget conscious people who want to get a taste of 5800 in a cheaper version! No 3G Network, No Wi-Fi, No 3G Cam, No GPS!!!

5800 has more features, GPS, 3G, front camera, and larger screen, but if you don't use 3G or GPS, 5530 is better because of the more powerful processor...
If u actualyl have a chance to put them side by side, u see that 5530 looks much more beautiful, and the colors are Deffinitely better on 5530. I have it, i love it. Could use a 3g but, meh, i use WiFi anyways.

5800 is faster. I'm disagreeing with people who say no. I tried going to apps etc with my friends 5530. I get 8gb memory card with it. And with nokia 5530 there's 4. Lots of stuff in the box, way more than 5530.. I use gps. I hav my reciever, and sometimes it's nice to use videocalling. I would say the 5800 is more smartphonish. I buy only smartphnes. I have a htc myself Ps every little difference in screen and camera matters to me. 5800 has carl zeiss optics.

5530 is alot better in price. but it has no 3G so it doesnot support any vidio calling. but you can use the 3G service only when you can catch the line and not all site of the city have it but for GPRS its everywhere.. so 5530 is good.
the new firmware has added everything to the nokia 5800.. and nokia 5530 simple doesn't come near to it now.. p.s 5800 has a 3.2 cam with CARL ZEISS LENS.. where has a 5530 doesn't have CARL ZEISS LENS.. 5800 has GPS where as 5530 does not have GPS.. 5800 has a 3.2 inches screen and 5530 has a 2.9 inches screen... so nokia 5800 is wayyy better than 5530 :) BEST REGARDS.

It does. 5800 is better all around. upgrade it to V40 and it got a whole lot more to offer than the 5530.
