My original piece in the Flamenco form of verdiales in E minor. I used to play this piece with picado, but this time I'm really pushing the limits of 'Alternail' technique. Played on the new 2017 Ben Woods Signature Model (BWSM) guitar by Ortega Guitars (available fall of 2017). This guitar is a Flamenco Negra with cedar top and rosewood back and sides, hand made in Valencia Spain to my desired specifications with my favorite on board electronics. This piece was actually recorded by plugging in directly and using a 50%mic, 50%pickup blend housed in its own preamp.

Bravo! Your work just keeps getting better. I've always liked your playing, but tended to think of you as a "crossover" artist. This piece has firmly cemented you into the FLAMENCO ranks in my opinion. I am greatly impressed. Wow! And LOVE your "alternail" technique. I've been playing with that for a while, but don't have near the control that you do. You have true plectrum level of control there. Very nice! P.S. I was watching a rerun of Storage Wars and caught you at the end, playing for a flamenco dancer. I had to rewind the DVR to verify that it was you and it was. I ended-up saving that last minute or so that you were on there. Very cool.

My grandfather and my greatgrandfather used to play in the verdiales festival every year in December and they both rejected flamenco music. They would get really angry if somebody said that our ancestral verdiales music was flamenco. They passed away though. We don't like verdiales being associated or mixed with flamenco, it is just not ok. It is our music and we want to keep it as our ancestors played it for countless generations.
I assure you I mean no disrespect and I can understand your point of view. I am an American playing Flamenco so already I am at a disadvantage with exposure and knowledge of Spanish and Flamenco traditions. However this is just my own composition played within a palo. Like it or not, Verdiales IS an established Flamenco palo and is not going away. I'm not the one that did it, the Flamencos in Spain did that. So if you are going to the trouble of writing me about this, then I hope you are also going to the trouble of writing the HUNDREDS of other videos with "Verdiales Flamenco" in the title to show your disdain. Why just me?
As I said before, I mean no disrespect and I can understand wanting to preserve traditions, and I'm sure yours will stay intact. However, as I understand Flamenco, they say it's ever evolving, changing and incorporating other forms of music, so it's easy to see how they would adopt the beautiful Verdiales into their long list of palos.

Please give a lesson on how to play a triplet (step by step guide) . Am struggling from a long time, watched a lot of videos. But then either I hurt my fingers or create a cacophony. A bad one.

Doctor_wuh he uses " alternail " for something similar to picado , and the fast strumming triplet is called " rasgueado abanico " and is basically a triplet .

beautiful piece and nice interpretation, but I think it would have sounded more like flamenco with a five-note tremolo, and no a classical, just a suggestion, nice piece

It's not that different I think. In this new video, I can just go faster. I'm not very interested in sounding 'Flamenco' anymore, I'm more interested in sounding like myself these days.

I can not say that I agree with your opinion. Not only do I disagree, but this is not even a Cordoba guitar. All guitars are unique and each player has different needs. I've encountered many Cordoba guitars that are beyond excellent and I've encountered some Conde Hermanos guitars that I did not like at all. This is a Ben Woods Signature Model - Flamenco negra guitar, hand made in Valencia, Spain to all my specs and desires with Ortega Guitars and its awesome!
Ben Woods thank you for answer me. If you thinking like that I'll agree your opinion, because I know many guitarists which are prefer bad quality guitars because they dont want to know about other guitars which are better. 2nd reason is that my ears want to hear this great music coming from conde's guitar, thats all Regards!
giorgi Balaxadze re-read what you posted. You're telling someone to buy a premium brand over a more high-volume manufacturer. Amazing advice there...
