From all the videos I have watched, the Australia Customs and Immigration officials seem very dedicated, polite, no-nonsense, all-business agents who are dedicated to keeping Australia healthy and safe, and keeping all the bad stuff OUT. They are very good at their jobs, and politely but firmly ensure that all the laws and rules are upheld. I am very impressed.

The first case, with the massive fine, was perhaps slightly different in that the first woman deliberately hid the meat, whereas this woman claimed she just made a mistake. I am not convinced though, because she knew she had meat on her but did not declare it on her declaration form. For me, that is deliberate dishonesty, just the same as the first case. Her ott reaction is consistent with a guilty conscience, not an honest mistake.
I have learned that when traveling it's a good idea to import undeclared prohibited items, then have a screaming tantrum when caught. Works every time. 😂

So, by the daughter's own admission, the news about the other women, who was caught 1 week earlier smuggling meat products under her clothes etc. and was subsequently returned to China, has spread through the travelling community ... why are the mother and daughter saying they did not know she could not bring in meat products? People really should have their "oops, I got caught smuggling" stories better thought out and rehearsed.
