Tomás Luis de Victoria (sometimes Italianised as da Vittoria; c. 1548 - 27 August 1611) was the most famous composer in 16th-century Spain, and was one of the most important composers of the Counter-Reformation, along with Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina and Orlando di Lasso. Victoria was not only a composer, but also an accomplished organist and singer as well as a Catholic priest. However, he preferred the life of a composer to that of a performer.
Tomás Luis de Victoria (Ávila,1 h. 1548 - Madrid, 27 de agosto de 1611) sacerdote católico abulense y maestro de capilla, célebre compositor polifonista del Renacimiento español. Se lo ha considerado uno de los compositores más relevantes y avanzados de su época, con un estilo innovador que anunció el inminente Barroco. Su influencia llega hasta el siglo XX, cuando fue tomado como modelo por los compositores del Cecilianismo.

Tomás Luis de Victoria, auch da Vittoria (* um 1548 in Sanchidrián, Provinz Ávila (Spanien); † 27. August 1611[1] in Madrid; lateinisch Thomas Ludovicus a Victoria Abulensis) war ein spanischer Komponist der Renaissance. Er gilt als einer der bedeutendsten Komponisten Spaniens (neben Francisco Guerrero und Cristóbal de Morales). Er verfasste zahlreiche Vokalwerke der liturgischen Kirchenmusik, darunter das berühmte Officium Sanctae Hebdomadae, eine Sammlung geistlicher Gesänge für die Karwoche.
