Thank you. I am glad we did it because we needed that major rotation of our food. I was a little uneasy about going 2 year’s but it worked in the end.

      Hello Dear Friend 🌞
I have to limit myself with them. Even though they are sugar free the replacement for sugar is not the best. Something is going to take us over the rainbow in the end. I may as well enjoy the ride. 😉😂

@janeprepper177 One step at a time. You will get to where you want to be. This took me year’s to get to this point. Started with one shelf in the master bedroom closet.

So right. Not even just food. Everything, everything in general has jumped so high in the last two year’s. Everything except paychecks. I don’t know how everyone is making it. 🙏🏽

Do you make a menu for the year before you shop? if not how do you know what to buy?

    • @littlegreenpatch98
      @littlegreenpatch98  7 дней назад +2

I don’t. I am a from scratch, through it “together” cook. If we had chicken last night, I cook beef the following night. I have cook books but never use them.
We eat simple whole foods. I don’t need 15-20 ingredients to make a dish.
I meal planned for a month four year’s ago. Never did it again and didn’t even stick to that of the whole month.
I know how much to buy to fill up the space I have and now I have a better idea of how long it will last us but the family is still growing. So I have to keep that in mind.
I can go to any of my pantries pull out a protein, scratch and veg an make a meal. No recipe needed. Scratch cooking doesn’t have to be complicated or by the cook book. The best meals we have had have been off the cuff.

You had me laughing out loud when you made the comment about being surprised at the cost of food! I have my pantry but When things we use goes on sale I stock up! I hate paying full price for my food! I don't know how some people are able to feed their families especially if they do now know how to cook! Packaged food is so expensive! I bet you are feeling pretty good about getting stocked up again! In another year or two when it is time for you to stock up again I wonder if they will still have stores...just saying!

😂😂🤣 I don’t know how people are making it either. These price’s are out of this world high from two year’s ago. If store’s are gone by by when I have to restock again. I already told the family we will be eating only what we can grow. I asked everybody in the house what their favorite veg & fruit was. Most of them said thing’s I can and do grow. Youngest said Mangoes & Watermelon. She can get one out of two. Not bad.
I try to stock up only on sale’s as well but I was so low on canned good’s I just had to do it. My in-law’s gave me a $500 Aldi gift card for Christmas. Said $100 per person in my family was her Christmas gift to hubby & me. It came in handy.
I just finished restocking the basement cold room today. There are still a few hole but all the canned good’s are full.
Now time to wait on sale’s. Meat stockup is next. 🙂

@@littlegreenpatch98 What a beautiful blessing from your In-Laws! I know the food costs are out of control. The meat stock up is going to hurt. My friends @Thehomesteadinghills just did a video on what they did they may interest you!

😂 The way my family eats probably. I think if we ever had to ration our foods my family would be ok. We eat less of the expensive things like meal on a regular basis. They just don’t know it. 🤫

Walmart has the worst ingredients in their foods. Last time I was in the states, my cousin shops at Walmart and I used her Walmart spices to cook with. I got so sick and didn’t know why until I backtracked and read them. Be mindful.

Wow! 😧 I use Walmart spice’s all the time. If it is a savory dish it has garlic and onion powder in it. Walmart brand. I am getting to the point of what can we safely eat from the store’s in this country.
I am glad you are ok and found out what it was.
      God Bless 🙏🏽
