Great video. I’d forgotten most of this, especially POM! Your instructions are very clear and precise, exactly what is needed from a driving instructor. I’m looking forward to viewing more of your videos
Thank you I passed in a manual. Drove for a year. Stop start traffic is a pain on clutch got scared when me knee locked. Getting an automatic and sticking with it.
@@dianeharrison4975 it's much easier. You don't need change gears, you just have break pedal and acceleration pedal. Obviously all electric cars and hybrid vehicles are automatic. Only point With automatic licence you are not allowed to drive manual car.
Thank you for this video. New tip I have I learnt from this video, is the reference point, to make sure the car does not touch the kerb or be too far away from the kerb when parking.
That was a very clear explanation on moving off and stopping. Surely it’s very useful for PDI s like me and of course for the new learners. We are looking forward for your future videos.
In which order should you start the car ? Is there a preferred order, or are both okay? Engine on -> gear to drive -> foot on brake -> handbrake down -> foot on gas Or Engine on -> gear on park -> handbrake down -> foot on brake -> gear on drive -> foot on gas
I really like your explanation. It's so easy to follow all the instructions. 👍👍👍 I hadn't driven for 7 years. After watching your videos, I am gradually feeling confident. Thanks for your help. 👏👏👏

moving off good But for Stopping you didn't mention anything about "safe and parallel" distance from kerb ! but overall the way you explained is very good 👍🏻
Thank you so much, this video is so helpful. I am going to start my intensive driving lessons soon, and I am really nervous. After watching this I got more confident because I wrote down every thing you explained and I am going to learn it very well. Thank you very much, Sir.
Pls were can i get this instructor, hes awesome, he explained everything so well, bits by bits, i want an instructor like him, ill definitely pass if i can get someone like, am due to start my 1st lesson in two wks and so nervous about it
Hi Shak, your videos are really helpful. Would be great if you can cover the roundabouts on the Slough/Langley test route if possible please 😊thanks a lot.... P.S. My test is next week lol!!!
Excellent explanation. Stay blessed Sir. Where do you provide lesson means in which area as I want to take lessons for. Automatic car from you if you are in Birmingham or near by areas. Thanks for explaining in such calm and excellent manner
When parking; First put it into N, Engage the handbrake, Release the pedal to transmit all the weight to the handbrake, Hit the brake again and put the gear into P, Turn off the car.

This is all I did in my first lesson today and I was panicking the whole time it was awful. I got up to 20mph and drove 100metres at most 😢 driving is so scary
I have an automatic and if stopping you should always put the engine into the park when waiting. I was at a drive-through and stretched out to get some money from a trouser pocket and hitting the throttle the car leped forwards. The same with stopping. If by chance you just get out of the car to quickly do something you can accidentally hit the throttle and the car will jump forwards.
Would have been useful to actually SEE how you ‘put it in park’ / drive. How is the gear lever marked? Is there a button to press? Are the positions standard in every make & model? People watching this are likely to be manual drivers considering a change to automatic.
Thanks for this mate. When stopping, is the emergency brakes applied before putting it into park, or can one put it in park first and then apply the emergency brakes?

Thanks for these videos, When examiner asks stopping safe place on the left 40 mph single carriage way. Is it necessary to apply handbrake once stopped.?
Good morning. Firstly, love the video, the steps were gone through slowly and carefully and very easy to understand. My question is regarding the observations. Due to the road being particularly busy, there was a huge pause between checking the pavement side and actually moving off. Would it not be safer to redo the entire 6 point check in this case?

I am glad I was able to help.
I learn in automatic, yesterday tried my husband's manual car oh my God it went crazy😔😄 best option is automatic if you don't want stress.
Is it easier? Icouldn't cope with manual lessons,im looking to learn again🥴

Foot on brake, engine start ( usually won’t start if not in park ) into gear, foot off brake. That is the way the 300 million Americans are taught.

Thank you Tommy for sharing your story. I had not even considered that.
For behind the wheel lessons do we need learner permit even if we have international driving lesson.
Hi. Sorry for late reply. No, if you an international permit, you can take lessons without provisional but you can not take theory or practical test
Brilliant thankyou.

Really like the video good description
Thank you for your kind words
Do u prefer automatic or manual
Do we need to indicate when we stop to give way to some oncoming car? And when moving off again should we indicate?
Yes you must always indicate when overtaking another moving vehicle whether on a single carriageway or dual carriageway.
A question.. With an automatic, why apply the handbrake? When in Park the transmission is totally locked
Keep the DVSA happy 🤣
Can you show how to drive a automatic car with hand controls for people who are unable to use their feet to drive
unfortuntaly not as I don't have a car with that facality
