I absolutely love Stargate SG1, there will never be a show as unique with so many amazing characters.

I'm on Season 4 after randomly finding SG1 on Netflix. Sooooo good! I love the whole crew❤️
Couldnt agree more. I love Star Trek, but it did take itself way too seriously at times. Also, when you compare the two series, Star Trek was set three to four hundred years in the future, and you could obviously never identify with that, whereas Stargate was set in the present, they just travelled to different worlds through a device that some other race built. General Hammond summed it up in the first episode when he said, "frankly, we are in so far over our heads". You could identify with the characters, they were not set in a future where the human race had made tremendous technological strides forward.
Amanda really is a class act and very multitalented. The writers and Amanda, did such a good job developing Sam, who became an excellent role model for all. I’m doing my annual rewatch now, I’m on season 2 and loving it as always.

From memory they reshot a scene just because she had her hat on the wrong way compared to a real AF female officer..
MGM has given up on Stargate. Let's hope Stargate can find a good home to live and thrive in again. Amanda is an awesome director nowadays. She is an awesome person too!
Ever heard of the Remake Realm? You know, the pitch black space where eventually all abandoned franchises go. The home of our nightmares, takes our beloved universes and twistes them so bad they're barely recognizable. We can only hope our gateverse is not going down there. That anything that might come out in future is made not by people completely disconnected from the thing, but those who dedicated part of themselves to the universe, the fans. As long as we feel the enchanting vibe of that world, we're the fire keepers of the SG verse.
Yeah I really doubt MGM is going to release the TM and property rights to the name and series. They over extended themselves with their failed EPIX streaming venture. Which was really bad timing as they spent over a Billion dollars on EPIX only to go bankrupt soon after.
Just today I saw some new on the Reddit Stargate that Amanda was approached for a revival!! EXCITING!!!!! WOOO

Stargate was always an amazing proponent for strong female leads, more than any other series or even movie, all movies tries too hard more than often, and it feels forced, and unnatural, in Stargate it feels real, natural and not forced at all, not even the episodes that had full female teams being displayed in any way felt forced, and the idea behind the team was well presented and executed. This is how you do it. MGM doesn't understand they're sitting on a modern goldmine story. Stargate would work 10 times better today than it did when it originally came out.

I love this woman so freaking much. Finally after 20 years I got to meet her this year at Creation's Gatewaychi 2019 convention. I finally got to tell her in person that she was a surrogate mother to me when my mum wasn't emotionally or physically available for me. This was during the photo ops & I only had a quick second to tell her this. Before I knew it we were both on the edge of welling up with tears & she just grabs me & pulls me in for a hug. I thought it was just going to be one of those quick hugs as we were making the photo OP take too long but when I thought the hug was done she just continued to hug me. I was just in awe of how much my quick, brief little side note of what she meant to me touched her so much enough to give me like a 30 min hug & a beautiful picture to hold onto the memory. If you ever have a chance to go & meet this remarkable, amazing, & gentle hearted woman, DO IT! You will never regret meeting her & it will be one of the major highlights of your life. Thank you Amanda for always being there for those who need & look up to you. You're a superhero & a rockstar to a lot of us ;)

Wow, what an experience. I loved Sam, but i have got to say that my favourite character was Dr Janet Fraiser, and i just think that it is a shame that instead of expanding and developing her character, she was killed off, and for what, it duidnt add anything to the show?

Stargate changed the view I had on the world and the universe when I was just 15 years old. I can't put words on how thankful I am to Stargate (both SG-1 and Atlantis), to the actors and to all the people behind the scenes that we easily forget. Thank you, thank you, thank you... from a 28 year old dreamer living in Paris.

The relationship between Jack and Sam was wonderful and needed MORE development. Shame on MGM for not going through with the third movie in which I understand Sam and Jack's relationship was going to be allowed to "blossom". Love Amanda and LOVE LOVE LOVE Richard Dean Anderson!

A final season with 10 episodes with runtime of 1h (without ads) would be something it would be enough to get them back in the Pegasus galaxy win over the wraith and 5H for a new enemie (those ones from the dedalus universe jumping episode)

Atlantis is on Earth with the whole SG team. The Destiny Crew have arrived at next galaxy by now. (Barring story-line changes that delay their arrival). They are in need of a dial up for logistical and personnel support from Atlantis and SG Command, which requires more Zed-PMs, more technology and subsequently more adventures. The intergalactic gate bridge to Pegasus is still mostly there right? All led by General Carter with cameos from everyone!
Wow, that was wonderful. The show was morally beautiful, Amanda saw to that. She refused to dress sexual like the.producers wanted. So it was a good family show too. She was a delight! Love her! ❤️💕❤️

I actually met Amanda at a comic con in London about 10 years ago. She really is a lovely lady and she was happier just walking round talking with fans. No airs or graces. Just a down to earth lovely lady. A real pleasure meeting her.
I remember my Dad bringing me to a SG-1 convention in Boston. The poster I bought there is one of my most cherished possessions. If only MGM cared about this franchise as much as the viewers who carry it on today.
Amazing lady. Her smile always lights up a room and the impact she had on a generation of people cannot be overstated.

Amanda tapping is awesome. I once saw system lord Camulus out in public in LA. I thought it was my mind playing games, I regret not saying anything.
Its so wild that I grew up watching her and the rest of the team. As an adult Ive realized what a positive role model she has been. I really want to meet her!
The hole Stargate World ( SG1.Atlantis,Universe) need to be back renewed! that would be so freaking awesome! My boyfriend convinced me to watch this shows and I really love them,the characters in every serie are so amazing unique!! I can say for sure that my future children will watch stargate :) !
Even if they were to remake Stargate SG1 it wouldn’t have the chemistry the original cast had. The chemistry between Carter and O’Neal can’t be replicated.
She seems to really appreciate the fans and does not act like she is above them.
That is what a good actor does IMO, do the job extremely well and then be one of people again.
I wish there were many more actors like this in modern series/movie making.
Truth be told, the writers did a fantastic job too!
I finally got my teenage nephew to watch Stargate! I hope he will love the series, stories and characters as much as I have over the years and be inspired by it as well.

There’s such a fantastic backstory to so many of the STARGATE characters it would be awesome to have new seasons that show them having been promoted (or not - even busted in rank for past misdemeanours to provide alternate paths to specialist skills and talents…..) and having evolved in their careers would be just great.
Every year i make it a point to watch every episode of Stargate! Bring it back!

I was at this convention! I only ever went to a single Stargate convention, and it was this one in Chicago, 2004. She was so genuine, sweet, and infectiously funny - a real treat. She's actually ever so slightly pregnant here, which we didn't know at the time!
The kiss on the cheek would have made my life from her. She has such a beautiful soul.

It pisses me off that no one out there wants to bring the show back and when stargate universe was shut down I was so morbid, like i lost my family in one fowl swoop.... u really suck producers of the show. I would love to see a rescue mission with all the cast of SG1, Atlantis and SGU, I really want to know if ELI fixed the pod and survived or died.... still I am so frustrated with that ending and again you suck real bad the people who canned it...

I watched the original movie when I was very young and first saw the show a few years later. I've loved it ever since. Not only are the actors amazing at their jobs, but they all seem honored the fans enjoy their work so much. Love these random posts too, but what happened to Wednesdays? I looked forward to those two random episodes all day

Amanda Tapping is so fun and happy.
Stargate needs an MMO or some sort of large game that allows for travel trough the gate and the ability to interact with different characters from all of the shows. Maybe get some voice cameos and solve the cliff-hanger ending to SGU.
pls no mmo. Just a good story driven singleplayer. I can't imagine grinding for naquada pieces would be very immersive.

Families watch Stargate, because it wasn't ruined by political correctness. It is a wholesome show without the virtue signaling we see in most shows today. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the #1 TV series in many DVD collections.

I used to watch a few episodes of Stargate SG1 years ago. Two weeks ago I started watching from the beginning on Netflix and I am hooked 😊.

It seems to me that the Stargate Franchise should try to tie it self into these multi-multiverse storylines of DC comics(@t, Marvel comics(@t, and Doctor Who(@t. Through a series/set of Intercompany crossover(@t, @t, and @t with Marvel comics, DC comics, Doctor Who, and other established franchises. @t
MGM could work with Warner Brothers, BBC/Big Finish, and Disney and other companies on such a project and it could be part of what should have been picked up from where Stargate Universe season 2 left off.
I watched Stargate and listened to Hi-Q since ever, and only now I see how well Amanda Tapping and Dana Nălbaru from Hi-Q look like each other. Hi-Q were a Romanian dance group even older than Stargate.
That's a long day/weekend. A lot of concentration & energy required. Her attitude is impressive.
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but I recently read that René Auberjonois has died at the age of 79. Will Stargate Command be doing a special on him? I remember watching him in the stargate episode The Other Side........ I just feel we have lost a legendary actor!
We need more streaming services that care more about quality of content then profits. i'm sure there could be a grass roots way of making profits for a show like SG1!
You can never repay what was lost. Millions of women, who would have become wonderful and beautiful moms rebelled and instead become lost, desperate, spinsters who never experienced the absolute love a mother has for a child. These desperate women are the bedrock of the USA believe it or not, if they aren't pleased this nation shakes, for worse or worse at this point. Strong women have a role to play in our culture, but never at the expense of the mother who gave birth to us all. Thank you mom for giving up a career to be a stay at home mom who loved and cherished her sons.
I think some regard her the same as Gillian Anderson in X-files, the male fans etc, but like Leonard Nimoy she's prepared to understand it and embrace it, rather than just turn up and sign stuff for money.
