He was a drug addict, and was imprisoned for holding a male prostitute against his will whilst not in his right mind. He served his sentence and sorted himself out. For that,and a myriad of other reasons I admire him. We all make mistakes,some of us learn from them,some of us don't. Maybe Mark Byrne is an angel and sinless,though I doubt it,who is? Even though she was shy, she had the courage to speak about the gross cover up by clergy that went all the way to the Vatican when literally noone else would. Should be lauded for that, not reduced to just 'controversial' 🙄 But that's what we often do to women. Also wrote & produced her entire songs from 20 yrs old. Ahead of her time. I love when someone who knows the person pays tribute. Sinéad was a true Celtic warrior poet and I am honoured to be an Irish woman who follows in her footsteps. I was truly woken up by her exposing of the catholic church. She paid a very high price at the time and for years after, for shedding light on the disgusting abuses and cover-ups in the church and was a hero for that and her fight for mental health issues. Rest well, warrior, your battle is over and we WILL carry on the fight in your stead
