Just want to say that I really enjoyed your videos, a few years old now, but a lot of great information for a first year beekeeper. Ty :) Blessed Days...
Gosh, I really miss your videos! I hope to see you back sometime. I’m in Wisconsin, so your videos are very helpful for us northern beekeepers. I hope all is well with you. 😊🐝
Really pleased so see you posting again. I am a novice beekeeper in the UK and many of the RUclips channels seem to to be US focused and somehow different to what we do here in the UK. Your videos, on the other hand, are all informative, illustrative and above all interesting. I have watched every one of them and was worried that you may have given up posting. Keep it up! Looking forward to seeing many more!
You did great with your breakdown of the process==step by step, straightforward and a good speaking voice. I don't care much for hotshots or clowns. Thank you for making this video. New sub here.
WOW!! That was an excellent video. You have a great way of explaining straight forward well practiced ways of getting it done. Its great to see you posting again and hope you will do more. Thank you for taking the time to do this I (and I believe so many more) really appreciate it.
I have been pretty successful handling my queens when it is necessary . I have used the drones to become confident. Grabbing attendants will be a lot easier to master now that I have seen your helpful trick. It is so good to see you back.
Thrilled to see a new video from you! 🙂 I find your videos an incredible wealth of easily explained knowledge for us amateur beekeepers. Please keep them coming. 🍻
So glad you've done another video. You are the one that got me interested in managing hives as Single Brood Chamber. I couldn't find a lot of info on it but as an older female I couldn't lift the deeps by myself so this year I just went for it. I have 3 Single Brood hives. Much easier for me to handle. I'm managing and learning a lot but can't say if I've done it right.
Almost every comment that I read stated in one way or another that we are glad you are back and posting again.. I will also say, Glad you are back at it , and a great video to boot!! Thanks , Phillip Hall
Devan, I now am confidently marking my queens with no problem or lack of confidence doing so. Until this video, It was a pain for me marking queens. I WAS using a marking cage but not anymore! Thanks so much! I hope you are having a good year with your bees as well as life in general. Phillip Hall
Hi Devan, great to see you back and great video. I really respect your opinions/suggestions. Tried single brood chambers because of you this year and worked out great! Thanks again!
It is great to hear from you again....i hope we can look forward to more information. There is so much more to learn. You articulate the information well with continuity...so we have a beginning... but...im feeling...its a long way to the end...please continue helping...thank you from florida...
Since your last videos I have become a beekeeper. I have decided to do single brood Chambers because of you. I want to make queens and have been looking at some videos. I really like your little boxes.
Devan -- Thank You for sharing your experience with those of us that are interested in beekeeping but haven't started yet. I enjoy watching your videos and learn a lot and have subscribed. Keep up the Great work of saving the bees and being the Master Teacher. Your so very easy to listen to and understand. Your presentation and information is Awesome. Thanks Again!!
Nice to see you back Devon; all the best this season from another Ontario (Windsor) beekeeper. Thank you for sharing your vast knowledge. Looking forward to many more.
Thank you for this, it's really nice seeing someone confident & competent up close handling their queens...I get really scared I'm going to hurt mine...
Great video. My son (7) and daughter (4) enjoy watching your channel as a bedtime story. My son just asked if we could keep bees too... maybe one day :)
Great to see you again Devan! Excellent video and the timing was perfect. I purchase a couple double mating nucs from Mann Lake and eager to give them a try. I'm a third-year beekeeper with 28 hives and want to promote desirable traits in my queens beyond walkaway splits. I haven't seen anyone else do a video on this topic. Thanks again!!
Thank you so much for the clear descriptive video. I very much appreciate you posting this subject. And glad to have you posting, its been a while. :-) . Phillip Hall
hey ! Where did you go? I like your style and presentation... always very clear compared to some others on this youtube university!! Hope you come back!!
Really good videos Devan. I'm in my first season keeping bees. I have two hives and trying to learn as much as I can. thank you for the information you share with everyone!
That was a very informative video, and I agree with the others, it is great to see you posting videos again! Always liked your videos and get a lot out of them!
Hi Devan how are you .Long time you did not post anything about your beekeeping operation.I hope you did not stop beekeeping .Thank You for your efforts on the all videos on your channel.
Great video! I am a relatively new bee keeper and have been reluctant to handle bees like you show. The idea of practicing on drones is a great idea. I noticed that you did not get stung and was wondering why.
Thanks Devan. Glad to see you back and looking forward to your next one. I always get something out of them, .. because you were wondering if we do.. Greetings from Marengo, WI.
As always, very nice video, good to see you back man :) I have a question for you (and eeryone!) When you wanna boost your mini that are weak, do you place directly your frame of bees in another mini just like that, no newspaper trick? Do they will accept each others without fighting? thank you and keep up the good work, everybody love what you are doing man! :)
Ya, just put a good frame directly in with them. There may be a few workers fight, but we're working with mostly young bees, the oldest ones will just fly back to their old nuc. Also you do this right after you've removed the mated queen, so there isn't a chance of the new bees jumping on a queen that they aren't used to.
Great comprehensive video! FYI, I've used Sharpie oil based paint pens marking queens for nine years without issue. I typically keep queens up to 4-5 years as long as they remain productive. Best, @HoneyOnWales
Very good video. I assume they would begin to build emergency queen cells and therefore another queen cell will be moved into these mating nucs asap and the queen cells they've made destroyed?
Hi! From Austin, TX! Devan, it's great to see another well made video! Cant wait for the next one! Keep up the good work! What's the name of your beekeeping business? How did you get started beekeeping? What was that like for you?
I'm echoing the comments of others but Welcome back. Great video. Can you show us how you created or harvested the Queen Cells and placed them on these frames? Thanks again
Hi Devan, great video's keep them coming, I have 13 hives in southern ontario, have lost 5 due to varoah, going into winter 8 hives. In the spring when do you add pollen patties and feed , what is the earliest, I plan on queen rearing , splits and nucs this comming year.
Great to have you posting again. Thanks.
Hope all is well.
