Later in The memoirs of his bodyguards book lost youth what do I see my name in the thank youse 3 spaces from Tricky... best moment ever....
yes girl!! Like every song is sooo good I always liked his music even when I first heard it when I was like a kid. I was like who is that?? :D He's so good.
@pancon5 I just heard this song on somafm and it made me think of your question. I wonder if you could be thinking of Bird and the Bee - “I’m a Broken Heart”.
Apologies for abusing this space a little bit, but there is this trip hop song with female voice that I just can't find out what it's called. The tempo and beat are similar to "Aftermath" and the voice is processed and sounds quite similar to Martina's voice in Tricky's "Singin' the Blues". Something like "and I try try try" and then something like "and I die, die, die" or "cry, cry, cry" is heard at the chorus (I could be wrong about the lyrics). Any ideas? I'll be eternally grateful!
Where they say "I cannot be stopped" at the end of the song, is that Tricky? Sounds a little like Trent Reznor's voice. Does he make a guest appearance mumbling around in the end of this song? Does anyone know? Thanks!
There is no hype, just appreciation. There's a difference between preference, taste and a subjective shite like your opinion comparing these guys and the era with today and say the vacuous garbage of mumble-rap; vaporwave could be narrowed down to electronica is still unique in sound. Your opinion would be more accurate said about today with the abundance of music and sub-styles that people claim are of individual genre with silly names like "neuro-funk" which is just d&b. Whereas "trip-hop" makes sense rooting from hip-hop but more unconventinal and trippy... "uninspired"... being a part of creating a new genre and uninspired to use other genres within those new forms of music unconventional but rhythmic and melodic?! So by your thinking turntabalists amazing at what they do are really just uninspired because they're mixing other people's records to make new music... while at the time you likely weren't even spunk in a nut-sack. So what have you done other than post some random video of some bald guy on your channel? LL Cool J and other rappers would've used other music, some songs entirely consisting of a remixed beat from someone else... I take it that those hip-hop producers are uninspired too? The same then could be said about anything like contemporary film, because styles or techniques have been influenced, borrowed, adapted. It's the opposite of uninspired: hearing something and using it to recreate. Another good example is more underground producers remixing a pop track and making it more interesting than formuliac chart shite. Jazz as another example isn't "uninspired" from mixing up European influences. As with a difference between early 80s electro / breakdance going into rap and styles of hip-hop and then experimenting from that to original sounds of trip-hop which is even unique to the west country around Bristol. It's around 25 years old - so claiming it's uninspired makes no sense considering at the time just 10 years before there were no such style. She probably thinks the 2 year span of Tentacion and Lil Peep is legendary and genius...

The drums came from LL Cool J's song, "Eat'em up L, Chill". Dope!
LL Cool J got his drums from Five Stairsteps - Don't Change Your Love.
