Haha, happened to me in the same area, but I was hiding under the first bed/stretcher in the video. The alien saw me through the window as it walked into the room in the center through the far-side entrance. My reaction was pretty much the same. :D The whole medical section is pure hell, especially on higher difficulty levels.
At first I was thinking "It's probably some dumb ai, it won't find me here hehehe" Then next thing I see the alien gazing at me and I was like "nah", a second later the music starts to get intense "It can't be!" and big footstep sounds. It really terrified me, I played this game in the dark with headphones to get the best experience which I did. It was a very fun and intense experience, one of those games where you really feel like you're in the shoes of the character. There were parts where I really struggled, It became a puzzle, everytime I would die I would learn something and would try a different strategy to pass that level, some levels took me hours, as you said It really becomes pure hell in higher difficulty levels.
