Wow! You know you're in a special place when both types of fish have that kind of color. That was truly special. That fishing hole should be kept a secret. Enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing 👍.
Superb video. Superb creek. Those Brookies, the markings, colors, even several of the Rainbows are simply beyond definition. You are blessed and fortunate to be able to fish on that day and at that location.
I go just to get in to the places where they live, but when they have colors like that, it becomes very, very special. Days like that are like watching a sunrise or sunset; you know that the experience is never to be repeated again, ever.
MAN!! THE COLORS on these fish!!🤯👍 From the pinks to the oranges and yellows to the white and blacks with the greens of the fish....yeah, I can see how it's arguably one of the most pretty fish out there without question. Great vid bro. Plz keep em comin. Peace ✌😎
I thoroughly agree 100% that the Appalachian Brookies are the most beautiful fresh water fish on the planet. Just look at all those colors, and even the dorsal fin by itself has the colors of a monarch butterfly. Awesome video y'all, and always tight lines.
Beautiful colors on all these fish and hey, thanks for the offer code! Your rods and reels always look excellent I bought a black series reel to support all involved! I was in the market anyway thank them for me and thank you for all your videos!
That first rainbow, and those last several brookies you showed were absolutely incredible. When people ask me what I get out of catching those "tiny" fish, I simply reply; "you wouldn't understand." What they usually lack in size, they more than make up for in their beauty. I figure if I have to explain it, they'd never get it. Just to be on water like that, in naturally beautiful environs, and catching fish that beautiful, is truly a blessing. Keep them coming and God bless.👍👊🏼🇺🇸 PS If I may ask, what flies were you fishing?
I 100% agree! And I threw a few different flies, but a really heavy pheasant tail with an orange hot stop ended up doing most of the damage, at least in those bigger holes.
Jon could let us know your set up? Rod length and wt,Leader tippet length, was that a dropper dropper rig if so how far apart on those nymphs. Thanks for the info! Awesome video as always!
Hey Hardman ,,,Don't you guys have a time where your creeks and rivers close and open up in the spring and have your trout season open for a period of time so the fish can spawn and do their thing ? Cause where I come from Our trout season starts on the Last Sat of April every Year and all rivers are closed Sept 31 for Spawning periods . except for some exceptions on Some bigger rivers
Nope, like it or not we don't have a trout season. So it's up to the discretion of anglers as to whether or not they fish or don't fish during certain times of the year.
@@hardmanfishing Wow I envy that because it sure makes winter very long ,,,When April rolls around here its hard not to get the itch ,,,,all I can say less then less then 4 weeks away 6 boxes of flies filled and 3 reels with new line and leaders,,,,Cant wait to get out ! BTW I enjoy You just out Brook Trout Fishing small creeks ,To many Brown trout videos already on You tube ,I have 2 creeks where i go for Brookies ,,Im Lucky to have that ,Tons of Rainbow creeks here to. Cheers
Some streams like this one are pretty resistant to climate change, others not so much. Some of these streams deeper in the mountains should be around for a while.
next weekend I have an opportunity to take my 9 year old daughter to the mountains of Maryland to try for her first brook trout. as of right now the weather is not looking great, any advice you can give to someone who's never caught one. we will be using fly only as well.
The weather is looking rough not going to lie. It's supposed to drop in temperature and possibly snow where I live and I'm not too far from WMD. I wouldn't personally go for them because I know they're tough to catch in those conditions. My advice would be to put on a heavier nymph and get to the bottom of the bigger holes. I'd also move a bit of water looking for any active fish.
It was a tad bit heavy, but it was only a 3 wt. I wanted to use that rod so I could get my flies deep in those bigger holes. That set up is just better for that.
The Brookies looked like they were painted by an artist. Absolutely beautiful!!!
That last trout really is the prettiest one I have ever seen. Wow its magestic. Very cool.
It was a special fish for sure!!
Wow! You know you're in a special place when both types of fish have that kind of color. That was truly special. That fishing hole should be kept a secret. Enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing 👍.
Dude, there rainbow and brook trout everywhere in northern canada
I special place indeed! One of the best around honestly, although it isn't much of a secret. It's been listed on the top 100 streams in the nation.
@@tiktokcancerous9974 Go watch some Canada videos then dude
@@tedlivermore6955 ok
Gotta love some wild weather changes. Apparently that’s the key to making some crazy looking fish!
Living jewels, absolutely beautiful.
Superb video. Superb creek. Those Brookies, the markings, colors, even several of the Rainbows are simply beyond definition. You are blessed and fortunate to be able to fish on that day and at that location.
Couldn't agree more!! Thanks for watching!
My gosh Dude, the beauty of these fish r unreal! Thanks
Awesome video as always. I agree, the native brook trout is the most beautiful. I admire your appreciation of them.
When you grow up in Appalachia I feel like you almost have to appreciate them! Thanks for watching
I go just to get in to the places where they live, but when they have colors like that, it becomes very, very special. Days like that are like watching a sunrise or sunset; you know that the experience is never to be repeated again, ever.
Couldn't agree more. Some places are just special, and this is one of them
Takes me back to trips I took to the Smokies back in college and I spent the day fishing.

I'm doing my best!!
Beautiful and tough too. Given half a chance, they find a way to survive and populate the smallest of flowing water.
I know! They're impressive little fish
Absolutely beautiful fish and stream. I loved that video. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us!
Glad you enjoyed!
Another beautiful video. Those fish are amazing. WV seems like a wonderful place to fish. Keep up the riveting work. Thank you.
Thank you!!
Prettiest rainbow trout I’ve ever seen!!
Killer trip again Jon!!! Stunning fish!! That bow was nuts!!! Great job bro!!! Your having better luck on the weather than we are up here in PA..
I wouldn't say that.. it snowed this weekend LOL
That was a quick 12 + minits. I was sorry to see it end. Love the small water!
Thanks Larry!!
I have to agree. They are beautiful and my favorite fish to catch.
I think you are right about the beauty of those brookies. But I have nothing to compare them to. Great video!
So well done! Great videography and editing! Many thanks for another great wild trout episode!
Glad you enjoyed!

An epic and awesome day. Beautiful fish. Thank you for this video.
Glad you enjoyed!
Need to keep a small, heavy near nuff sculpin handy for the deep holes like that one.

Some of them rainbows are probably Florida strain, you can tell by the gator roll.
I agree. Florida strain rainbows are crazy fighters
I wish i had small creeks like around here
Great video. Fish similar, yet smaller creek in PA. Would really like if you took a minute to show flies used and talk about how they are rigged.
Amazing scenery and location and honestly the weather is unpredictable, although it’s the fishing rain/snow/shine I always say…….🤙🏽
What size rod and reel do you use in the small north ga streams?
What kind of net holder setup is Mike using?
Jon could let us know your set up? Rod length and wt,Leader tippet length, was that a dropper dropper rig if so how far apart on those nymphs. Thanks for the info! Awesome video as always!
Nice, gonna try to chase some stockies tm!
Nice!
awesome
Fantastic video! It's making me want to move away from where I live. 😂

Live is beautiful
Headed to Helen, GA tomorrow for my first solo fly fishing trip. Any tips? Going to pick a creek and just start walking up it
Try to find the most secluded creek u can there beautiful
North GA and Western NC. montains have some incredible waters as well. Hard work sometimes but well worth the effort. Good luck.👊🏼
What fly line do you use
I hope these beautiful fish are around for future generations to enjoy. With global warming their future is bleak. Nice video.

Neat but have you ever seen one off California's Golden Trout.
You should try flyfishing for carp it's super fun they'll give quite the fight
I actually have before! I think the video is still up on the channel, it was from last summer
Great i'll go watch, sounds like a really good video
you should be using a 1 or 2 wt rod, way more fun.
McCloud strain, illegal to keep in some areas

Prestine fishing
Do you ever eat any of the fish you catch?
Of course!!
Plus they are rare…. Not too many southern brookies left.
rainbow spawning colors>>>>>>>
Perdigon...
That’s a golden trout not a rainbow. I have a plethora of rainbow pictures.
Evidence of GOD is beautifully displayed in his wonderous creations.
Show me them flies.
Why are you banging those fish off the rocks for crying out loud?
