If you look the start finish line was re-painted. So technically the 5 (Crossed the old shadow of paint that you can clearly see) first. I believe he would win either way. Let's throw a tie into NASCAR if that would have happened the 17 lead more laps therefore he would be the winner. Great race, Great finish and I'm not a Larson or Buescher fan. The 2 closest finishes in NASCAR history happened this year.

Actually. Transponder showed buesher winning by .001 not larson. Larson only won because the start finish line is painted poorly
That's literally not true at all. They don't use transponders at start/finish, and NASCAR released the high speed camera shot. Larson was in front at the scoring line.

The win is determined by the nose
But as jeff gluck said the painted line is largely ceremonial as the line is set by the camera that shoots at 4000+ fps
