Even though I know it was him in the movie, my brain still refuses to believe it. Probably the most I’ve ever seen an actor transform into a role. Insane
I felt the same way watching Angelina Jolie sing opera in her new film “Maria” opera training can really transform a persons voice and has been used a lot in Hollywood!
I had forgotten it was him until the credits rolled and I was like wait what
Colin Ferrell in penguin?
@@MrKinghuman even more than that, there’s traces of Colin in Oz, there’s nothing of Bill left in Orlok
I understand now why the chose him from his other films like IT. He is just awsome talented actor, he will reach to the stars in his generation and will continue to surprice us all, hopefully one day win a oscar
This kid is really gaining legend status with his monster work.
He creeps me out off and on screen. Hope he doesn't become a Lon Chaney or Bela Lugosi.
@@shellygeorgia4229 lmao what? Pretty judgmental lol
Bill's like 6"4 he must be terrifying in full costume.
Lily said in an interview his shoes are elevated in the costume too
He was 7 feet tall in the movie.
They said he was terrifying.
@@John-lo2wn I hew seen the movie. He was terrifying as hell.
He looked like a ghoulish borat.
I got chills when Orlok told Thomas “you will obey” that voice scares the shit out of me
I think for me, the line that will not leave my mind was at the very end.
"I am an appetite. Nothing more."
Wonderful. Haunting. Monstrous. Chilling.
".....this my counsel". Chills!
Every organism is an appetite, everything is food for the senses when you don't find any or repeat that's what you call boredom@@Blisterdude123
The character was masterfully done from the look of Vlad the Impaler to the amazing voice and acting of Bill?
@@kbaldeo Orlok is not Vlad Tepes
Cannot stress enough that every performance in this film was excellent, Bill's work with the voice is something I am still thinking about two days later.
Same. But did you notice the child actors were really subpar.
But I agree all else was incredible.
Did we watch the same film? I thought it was awful
Can I take my 10 year old to see this? My husband and I are really wanting to go.
@@TheStorm36 well, it’s rated R. So I mean if you’re cool with your 10 year old seeing it.
@@TheStorm36 I wouldn’t - pretty serious content in a couple spots - good movie but I think it might be too much for your kiddos - just my opinion
The skarsgard family is probably the most talented family in the whole world. That family is just truly blessed with looks too
They're normal looking Swedes. But very talented yes
The "Brothers Emanuel" are potentially the most talented family in the world. Middle brother Rahm was the mayor of Chicago, erstwhile White House chief of staff, and one of the most colorful figures in American politics. Youngest brother Ari is a Hollywood superagent, the real-life model for the character of Ari Gold on the hit series Entourage. And Zeke himself, whom the other brothers consider to be the smartest of them all, is one of the world’s leading bioethicists and oncologists, and a former special advisor for health policy in the Obama administration. All three of them are regular guests on Freakonomics and are always a good listen.
"Most talented in whole world"? At what, making faces? None have ever had a role that was really unparalleled. Lots of pretty good stuff but nothing truly great yet. Got some crazy eyes that work well in monster or sociopath roles
Orlok's presence filled the screen in a way I've never experienced before. The minute the credits rolled, I knew the movie would stay woth me for a while. Stunning work by the whole cast.
I told my wife we just watched a movie that will become legendary.
The entire sequence of the chariot arriving to take Hutter, followed by the introduction to Orlock and the whole meeting... one of the best things I've ever seen. I was captivated.
@@rishabhpbthe shots during this sequence are excellent. The shot of the carriage riding towards the castle in the distance is perfection.
@@rishabhpb I completely agree! That sequence was a real standout in the whole movie. Genuinely creepy.
Meh - I actually thought the character was a little goofy-looking.
It sounded interesting, but there have been characters with far more presence.
The death rattle breathing was truly terrifying
The whole castle scene takes coppalas and just mind fucks you. The way he moves out of and in the shadows is so insane
I wish there were more scenes in the castle because that was the scariest parts for me. So atmospheric and haunting reminded me of how petrified I was as a kid watching the intro of Tales of the Crypt lol
I'd say the castle was the weakest part. Coppala explored it much more and it was fantastic. Equal parts unnerving but with more light.
i agree , Egger made it seem like a nightmarish dreamstate , Orlok was just teleporting everywhere during the dinner table .
the castle should definitely get at least 10 more minutes
When he makes Hoults character open the door with the shadow was such a cool shot by Eggers. There was awesome use of shadows in the movie.
the breathing was insane and added so much creep factor! brilliant work
and don't forget the wonderful gulping
His voice goes so low and it feels like it’s reverberating in the theatre, every breath and every word pierces the ears. Masterful work done all fronts
The voice is SO out-there and effective. Still can't believe it's even remotely his voice.
The only way I could describe it to people after seeing the film, was that like, it was what you'd 'imagine' a corpse trying to badly mimic human speech would sound like. SO good.
It's probably his voice but SUPER edited. They are trying to make it seem like he did it all by himself which is obviously not true lol
@@inesfreire9135 I can believe them enhancing the lows for the film, but I also believe he put the work in for it to sound that way
@@inesfreire9135 well yeah.... here he didn't even tried to make the voice we ear in the film
@@inesfreire9135 "obviously not true"? I don't think you realize the levels at which a human can modify their own voice without digital tools, and only the proper training/exercising
The voice was spot on for the character. Very commanding and bigger than big. Oh and those hands! Great movie!
Every actor in this film gave it their all and it showed. I was genuinely unsettled with Bill's performance. Definitely a film I will never forget
He was absolutely perfect. I would never guess it was Bill, he was totally transformed into the count
This movie was incredible. The performances carried the movie. They took a storyline that was done so many times and made it so authentic and original.
I was stunned when I found out that was his actual voice. I know they edited it to have reverb and a closeness, but the fact that that's him actually speaking was stunning. He spoke so slowly as Orlok, too, it gave a very hypnotic effect because not only is his voice so deep and commanding but he spoke so slowly it made you really pay attention.
One interesting fact: If you have read Stoker’s Dracula, he’s actually multilingual in the novel, if I’m not mistaken Hungarian is his first language and he has in fact learned English on his own by reading a lot of books, texts, maps and all sorts of things; add to that he’s also very well-informed and polymath as you realise it during his interactions with Jonathan while he’s being locked up inside the castle! So I think Bill Skarsgard delivered dialogues very well in line with the source material.
It seemed homage was given to the 1922 silent film version which I appreciated. The opening scene with the use of shadows, and lighting was stunning.
Have you watched the 1922 film? Eggers pretty much took that entire movie and brought it into 2024. It was a compliment to the OG in It's highest form.
There were countless nods to the original, even down to Ellen's "why did you kill the flowers" line, which is one of the very first 'lines' (silent film, so more "first dialogue slide") in the original film.
The sequence near the end with the shadow moving through the house was the one that stuck out the most to me as an homage to what is likely the 1922 version's most famous shot. The attention to detail all around was delightful.
His voice acting was the most clear 11/10 in the film.
Yo that scene in the castle soon as Nick cut himself I was genuinely creeeped the fuck out man they directed the shit out that scene
Gotta agree. Those close up shots on Bill’s eyes creeped me so bad ! I just wanted to flee this room even if I wasn’t in it
@ dude that was super fucking genius, like a cat going feral about to pounce 😂
That’s the best part of the movie
Too bad there wasn’t more scenes like that lol it was quite perfect I’d say
For me it was the blood draining. The f-ing gulping motion/sound, man
His voice is now the only one I will imagine when reading the original Bram Stoker novel.
has to be one of the greatest movie monsters of all time
Couldn’t fuckin imagine being on set and seeing Bill
In costume lmao. Dude is unreal
LOL, imagine him on a break sipping an iced tea and scrolling his iPhone 🤣
You will update my iPhone. You will obey my council.
I was legitimately scared of Count Orlok. That scene where Thomas opens the door in the castle and Orlok is just walking towards him in the dark scared the shit out of me. 😭 Bravo to Skasgard. He did it first with Pennywise and now again with Count Orlok. 👏👏
But he failed miserably with The Crow!.You can't win them all!
@@ipaporodThat wasn’t really is fault the script was garbage
@@ipaporod let it go and move on already! The writing and direction can’t be blamed on the actors. It’s not actually his fault when he didn’t write it. That movie was also getting crybabies over-hating it, and condemning it before they had even seen it, before it was out, and just using the 1994 movie as an excuse to do it. So some of the hate and backlash is not even valid and fair. At the end of the day, it’s just a damn fictional story and movie. One in which everyone in the hung up on their nostalgia crowd just pretended to care so much about the story, and act like the Brandon Lee movie from 30 years ago was the greatest thing ever also, and it isn’t either. It’s just being way too overdramatic. He is also just an actor who had to work with the script. People should still be able to see the effort he put into that with all the physicality and action and stuff, despite issues in the writing. At least he’s daring to go out there and try something. And it doesn’t change that he is a talented actor who has had other successful projects and shown what he can do! Carrying on about a movie or bringing it up everywhere to hold over someone is just being immature! You do realize that no actor goes into anything knowing what the outcome will be, not even with the successful movies and shows? We’re also not talking about The Crow here. So you really have nothing, you just wanted something to say.
Nice that he could quickly recover from the Crow. He should have got Oscar buzz for Nosferatu.
I was thinking this too. It's a real shame about The Crow because he was the right guy to play Eric Draven. It was the writers and director who f**ked it all up. Imagine if they did a proper remake of the 1994 classic, like scene for scene.
Bill is a great actor. He plays monsters and villains SO WELL. He’s so convincing!
His voice gave me chills, especially when he'd breathe like a monster
that voice was PHENOMENAL! it really made the movie for me
I just love this dude. So criminally underrated for so long, glad more directors are using the skarsgards now
Underrated? He starred in John Wick 4..
and the crow too
Bill you are a treasure. Amazing performance.
Everyone else in the movie as well, but that voice?! Omg it will stay with me forever haha.
He was brilliant. Still can't believe that's him! A true artist! That's unbelievable 😍
I saw the movie and know that's Bill Skarsgard, but my brain still can't link him and Orlok. It's an incredible performance.
Mongolian throat singing means “Khuumii”. “Khuumii” is our national heritage of Mongolia 🇲🇳Thank you so much for your effort and talent dear Bill.
I love Bill as an actor. I will always be excited to see his roles.
Bill was so marvelous with Pennywise, and now with Orlock too! He's got a knack for these roles with so much "physical" presence
Utterly amazing. See this in a x-plus screen if you can, with the extra bass. Unreal.
1:17 Lmao, they go "woow" for him talking close to the mic
Hopefully it's because they could feel the bass increase.
Movie was phenomenal!!! Great acting and even better directing!! The movie is a classic!!!
His voice was so heart wrenching! He truly did a phenomenal job.
10/10 acting, for EVERYONE in this film!
How you look as handsome as Bill Skarsgård & produce such a dark grotesque looming character as Nosferatu is true movie magic.
He is perfection. Ugh, I love him!
Really refreshing to see the rest of the cast give him the space to fully explain this. No interjections and no one rushing to sycophantically flatter his performance
Orlok was haunting, the film was brilliant and the cast were all flawless 👌 loved that all of the night scenes where pretty much black & white and the atmosphere overall was stunning. Eggers doesn't disappoint ever 👏
The voice is remarkable. Absolutely chilling, but remarkable.
This guy is one of the great young actors of our time
His voice was the best part of the movie. He can be the next Gary Oldman. lol
Good point!
Gary Oldlman ? Yikes
Very true!
@@kyorikusagami84 what do you mean?
That final scene was amazing and heartbreaking.
Facts. So bittersweet
She kept him there instead of letting him go ,
That final shot from above just busted me uppppp 😭😭😭 that picture will live in my head forevermore
Wow I went in intentionally not knowing much about the movie as I usually do, and was blown away.
This film is an instant classic, I've seen it twice in theatres already. Bill's character is magnetic, he really created an iconic character
Just finished watching it a third time in theaters, want to see it again!
His voice was BOOMING in Dolby. What an experience
Give this guy the Oscar.
The voice of Nosferatu was one of the tings I liked most in the movie.
Well done! Quit refreshing!
I went to see the movie with zero expectation (based on recent viewings...) and.. got surprised: great Nosferatu interpretation, great costumes, time recreation, great atmosphere. Quite entertaining and funny to watch!
He nailed it
He was amazing as Orlok. It wasn’t one of those “keep you awake at night” type of things. But man what a brilliant and showstopping portrayal of a vampire. Memorable as hell. And informed by the history and setting that the character would be from.
Such a talented family.
Truly amazing voice work. I was mesmerised.
Bill nailed his character!
Bill's performance is the best part of this movie, which is otherwise not as good as I'd hoped personally. His voice work is top notch, I'll definitely remember it for a long time after watching the film.
He was amazing as Orlok👏 🔝🖤
I just love him
The years best movie
Skarsgard’s career will rocket into the stratosphere from here
This guys “Range of acting” simply knows no bounds! Him and Fasbander are God tier actors
I 🖤 him, he's a great actor.
He is ao handsome and tall with amazing acting skills 🔥🔥
Bill is a genius! His ability to make a role his own is phenomenal. If you hadn’t known it was him as Nosferatu you’d never have guessed.
One of the most amazing actors of our time
Just saw the movie. Fucking phenomenal actor.
I am now considering this young actor as a true artist. He is really creating something special.
Absolutely incredible film. Robert Eggers still has not disappointed me
The supporting actors all beaming with smiles as he speaks about the performance just speaks volumes about how dedicated this cast was for this film
Everything was brilliant about this movie. Loved it!!! All actors were amazing. Bill never ceases to amaze me. Lily reminded me of the insane performance given by Eva Green in Penny Dreadful. Just excellent 👏👏👏
His voice frightened the $hit out of me!
The castle part was so good. I felt it peaked there. Him being in the shadows, his voice, that part was brilliant
Love baby Skarsgård and he's amazing in this movie
He does like doing stuff with his voice. Think about IT, John Wick 4, and now this. He could go into voice acting if he wanted.
The Beauty and the Beast in the most gothic way! The film as a brilliant masterpiece, all of it! I still cant awake and Im totally mesmerized with his voice and look and everythung...He is a monster but damn attractive! Excellent!
He is a horror legend
Incredible performance.
Dude is incredible in this movie. He nailed it!
Did not know it was him until I got out and saw imdb. Great job!
Every performance was excellent. I didn’t think it was an incredibly movie as a whole but so many memorable performances
Bill Skarsgård is one of those actors who will never want for work because of his versatility. He can play anything: Leading man, action hero, villain, monster, ensemble, voice for animation...name it. Only a few well-known actors have achieved this, and they are my all-time favorites: Gary Oldman, Willem Dafoe, Kevin Bacon, and Johnny Depp come to mind.
Just saw the film. Outstanding job, Bill!
This dude is highly underrated. He's so good.
I love Bill Skarsgard he's an amazing actor.
I love Bill in any movie!
Even The Crow? 😅😅 His talent was snuffed out so hard for that movie and what's really a shame about that is Bill was the right casting choice. He could have made an excellent Eric Draven if only the writers/director were actually passionate about doing the story justice.
And it absolutely ruled.
It’s hard to imagine that this was the gentleman that portrayed an odious monster. 👏
He was brilliant in this movie, and so was the makeup and practical work!
He is great actor
Wow .. I had no idea it was him. What a transformation.
I honestly think Nosferatu along with Furiosa and Dune 2 is the top cinematic experience of 2024. Great film , Eggers and his crew knocked it out of the park surprisingly.
The movie should be in conversation for awards, cinematography, costumes, music, make-up and Skarsgard's performance definitely.
Longlegs was also stunning visually. I like it when movies change screen ratios purposely as a narrative tool
Everythin is mastercrafted in the movie.
This Movie is a MASTERPIECE. Ive seen it 2 x now. And Im gonna go watch it it in Imax so it will be 3x I've seen the Film
Give him a Oscar nomination for the love of God!
The best horror film ive seen in years. Im a huge fan of everyone involved, especially Eggers.
I legit forgot he was playing him cause he was so unique and good
Bill is an AMAZING character actor
had no idea it was Bill S until at the end of credits. good surprise.
