When I first tried pvp the same happened but try out pve I was less then an hour when I first started it and some dude gave me a bunch of dinos inside cryopods and ascension weapons with crud tons of ammunition that guy wasn't even an admin I think but I dunno if all pve servers are like that.

Who remembers when ARK only had a handful of dinos and the best armour was flak gear?
I remember commenting on a screenshot,"What the hell is in the water and what the hell is he holding". I was a bit into singleplayer and wasn't even level 20 yet. He was holding a metal pike (Yes, I had no idea what it was) and in the water was a piranha. Both ARK and I have come so far in the past 3 years.

For me, Ark is the game I always dreamed of playing when I was a kid.
I recently moved over from the PC version to the XBO pre-release _(purely due to certain friends etc)_, and will move across to the PS4 version upon release _(again, purely due to friends and work colleagues)_.
Simply can't get enough of this game. Forget Far Cry Primal, and give me Ark Survival!!

You took a chance on an amazing idea, but one with a relatively narrow audience (that gladly included me) and now you have a survival game that everybody knows about and can have an amazing experience with. Thank you for the best gaming experience of my life, and the memories I have gained and will make in the future.
wrong, what they have actually done is in one swoop created the single most toxic and cancerous playerbase known to man kind, a game that was rushed out of early access with bugs, glitches and optomisation being un-adressed all while trying to suck out every piece of cash from your pockets by releasing DLC (which should be free mind you) and releasing a P2W mobile version.
the devs of this game are the scum of the earth
Wrong, DLC shouldn't be free, it's not sucking our cash because it's our choice to buy it, in my entire time of playing(since day of release) hasn't had more than 10 serious crashes and bugs, with a playerbase that the majority of is not toxic. I can think of games with far worse devs.
@@josefikrakowski wrong. The playerbase is fantastic official pve is full of friendly, helpfull peoples and 5% suckers who foundation spam. Pvp is a different thing. It is normal tja people are pissed if everything theyve build up gets destroyed buts its pvp and made to be lile that.The players arent toxic, there are even a few that unlock vaults and stuff if they lost. The salty players all went of because they cant stand losing something and rather want to play a hype game like fortnite

I still remember the sunday morning i bought early access ARK on steam for 20e. Didn't knew what I was gonna discover. I spent my whole f*cking sunday on the game and it felt like 5 minutes, I was sooo pissed off I had to go sleep and go to school the next day. This game is probably the best video game I ever had in my life and I will never forget it.

+Avery Selinger I think VR could do with some refining I've watched a few videos of people using it but it seems to "Shakey" to have any sort of immersion. But then again it's just another stepping stone in gaming. (Final destination being like the matrix!)
This is one of the games VR wouldn't work very well. It's a free roam, making movement weird. You could do the teleport thing, but riding Dino's wouldn't make sense. Running from predators would be too easy, and getting around would be way to easy. Weight would give less of a purpose (the slowing down part at least) and there would be no point for movement speed and less of a point for stamina.

It’s not gone yet brother, official servers shut down, ok. Descended and ark 2, ok. There will still be a crap ton on evolved STILL. Evolved is a masterpiece and should not be let go of that easily. It won’t. It’s to good to leave.
Watching this in 2022 is amazing, even though it was released in like 2015 the graphics are still amazing. Keep up the good work Wild Card!

I love the 70/70 slot official pvp server I was in. Ragnarok… a whole day just learning the bare minimum. Getting beat up by the next bob over.
Second day…the club…my only defense plus my fists…(I didn’t discover flint like the other 65 caveman bobs in the map) raided a hut…lots of flint…torches,torches for everyone…got a few Ws…third day…..8/70…..hid in the corner and finally some peace…scavenging the remains of the bob bases and after that…..alone….progressed….everyone left got good and the rest is history.
No more early game fights, wood buildings, etc….pretty much when you start from zero…go do note runs to get working fast on the end game engrams for end game raids…you could be poor as much as only owning only stacks of hide and flint and that’s enough to do it for.
Gigas, meks are stone base can-openers. It’s literally cheap to raid anyone….I miss the nostalgia and the progression that no longer exists.

I don't know if anyone cares or will see this. But here's a tip. If you bought ark on your PC (via Steam) and its rather laggy, run the "no sky effects" version. It reduces lag by a TON and makes almost no difference. All other graphics remain the same. Highly recommended for people with a higher powered computer,but not powerful enough to run the non changed game lag free.

This is one of the few games (Another being Halo 2), that brings a tear to my eye with the simplicity and the companionship this game brought with it.
Classic ARK was just something else.
Hate me for saying it, but I am afraid of full release. I love watching the game develop, and it's kinda like watching a relative grow up, and then watching them move to college. I will undoubtedly cry on release day

I joined the ARK train in around mid 2018 and I only had it on switch version and still thought the game was a masterpiece. I got a Ps4 for this game alone. Of course as I played ps4 more games grew on me like monster hunter and apex, but ARK will always hold the spot tgat shaped who I am. And to think,(As I write this) its almost over...

I got this game in 2016, I saw the Scorched Earth DLC, and knew this would be a trip. Oh how right I was. Ragnarok, Aberration, Extinction, Valguero, Genesis and Crystal Islands. Look how far this game has come.

Best fking game ever created, even with all the bugs, the feeling this game gives you when playing it is majestic, ive never experienced something like it. Feels like you went back in time to experience the fascinating and majestic world millions of years ago, it also feels nostalgic weirdly enough. If i died i would want to be reincarnated in a world like ark, millions of years ago with animals like dinosaurs, world covered with forests deserts, plants, longest trees you could ever imagine, oceans filled with unimaginable animals, incredible nature at the time. (I hope ark 2 will add more stuff and also more realistic animals)

It’s just so cool to see how far ark has come
In Summer 2015 I was on vacation with my family and discovered this game. On the drive back home my phone was offline the entire time, but thankfully I loaded up this video beforehand so I could repeat it over and over again. I must have watched it at least 30 times, showing it to all my family members and dreaming of playing it with my friends when I got back. Thats what makes this trailer so special for me :)

Working away from home for separate winter and summer jobs this game became home more so than my house. Played on a server with friends and rented one for me and the wife. So many adventures, so much breeding to beat the ascension cave with the wife. Then everyone faded out and left it, including my wife, and now I merely check on generators every couple weeks or so... Haven't used my laptop for more than 1 20 min session in the last month cause i don't even care to play other games alone...
Who else was freaking out when they heard about this game?

This looks great! Wish it was available on a mac. (Yes I know... I know) but I have question: Does putting a saddle on a giant scorpion seem wise? I mean, on a basic level, doesn't that put your head in a precarious position. Just thinking out loud here.

ARK: Survival Evolved When is it coming to consoles? And why at a later date? Not to be overly negative, but my experience with "console versions at a later date" for these types of MMOs tends to be that they get cancelled.

scheve1994 Right!? I mean hypothetically the scorpion could kinda shift the tail left or right but that would limit it's reach. If they scaled them up then the arc of the tail could go over the rider. That might make sense. OR better would be if the saddle made the rider prone.

I mean it is a good game, IT has come a long way, BUT. The game has many gamebreaking glitches and sometimes feels like a mess of colored text. I have 500+ hours on this game and 100% recommend this game of you can handle the grind. Wouldn't still say it's the best game.
